Bronx Created Hip-Hop...

...but when you really think about it, they suck at it on a commercial level and artistic level. Seriously. If you compare The Bronx to other boroughs, it's seriously lacking.

Staten Island had a better run in rap than the Bronx - Wu-Tang, Shyheim, King Just, UMCs, Force M.D.'s. You could say Staten Island has quality over quantity. You can list Brooklyn and Queens artists for days. When Harlem does come to the table, they do it big and with style.

But what about the Bronx?

To my recollection, the best The Bronx has to offer is Big Pun, Boogie Down Productions (not KRS-One), Slick Rick and Nice & Smooth. You could toss 3/4's of D.I.T.C. (Lord Finesse, Diamond, Show & AG) in there too for impact, but not sales. But after that, it's a wrap. Remy Ma. Drag-on. Fat Joe. Chi-Ali. The Legion. I'm sure I'm missing some people but that just shows how boring the BX is.

It just goes to show that it doesn't matter who started it, but who finishes it. This is just a segment of a large issue, which is NEW YORK HIP-HOP IS IN A COMA. I'm too busy to write it out and be thought provoking, but rappers in NYC suck - ESPECIALLY PAPOOSE. This negro is garbage. I've heard people say he's the 2nd coming of Raekwon. Ya'll are bugging out. Papoose is sub-par. And you tell him and Kay Slay that I said it.

Yo, I gotta agree with you on the Papoose thing. He doesn't move me one bit. It is what it is.

You know what...For once you actually right...My borough definetly needs to step they game up...

Im from NY I agree papoose is okay to me. I definitely like stack bundles better, st. laz, curtains, saigon, and other dudes. New York hip hop never stopped its just not as commercial like Los Angeles hip hop never stopped its just not as commercial.

the Bronx has the DJ game on lock. That's what they really created, and that's what they're still famous for.

Queens is the place for emcees past present, and probably future.

Oh boy here comes the New York hate clan....hope yall have fun. I do agree that BX does lack and NY is in a coma commercially, but I mean it is what it is. Im from Brooklyn though and its madd rappers popping out here right now.Like Ayo said they just aint commercial like los angeles aint commercial now but it never stopped in either places.Im a female but I dont listen to commercialized ish unless its worth listening to.Im more into the underground for every region cause thats where most of the talent is in New York, in L.A, in the South, Midwest check the underground for all those places and most of the artists will be better than most of the rappers out today.

Wait a minute; why doesn't Boogie Down Productions include KRS ONE?

Sure BDP as a unit changed the game along side Eric B and Rakim, Kane, G-Rap and Public Enemey throughout the late eighties, but KRS also ruled New York and Hip Hop all by his damn self throughout entire first half of the nineties. That's 10 years of D-O-M-I-N-A-N-C-E!

Second, you got a short memory. What about the Furios Five, the very first REAL Hip Hop group to move any kind of units (Also the Soulsonic Force!).

Third, you would think the contirubutions of the ENTIRE OLD SCHOOL ERA would provoke you miseducated negros to at least show honorary respect for the Bronx. The Bronx is the Motherland. This is like saying Africa fell off. The Bronx has earned its place forever.

Lastly, No disrespect to Wu or the Force MC's, but STATEN ISLAND? Are you out of your freekin' mind! Shyheim, King Just, and The UMC's? ... THE UMC'S? You named enough legendary acts from the Bronx yourself to put that theory to bed forever (Slick Rick, BDP, Nice & Smooth, Big Pun and DITC, plus how you gonna diss Fat Joe when he's a part of DITC?).

I think this kid must be playing a joke on us.

Oh God. Here comes Hashim.

What Bronx DJ's has the game on smash? Grandmaster Flash? Negro please!

For clarification KRS-One was WAY BETTER when he was Boogie Down Productions. He was nice all that way up to Step Into A World w/ Puff Daddy. The collabo didn't make him wack. He was just on his way out. Plus that negro is WAY over rated. Please don't tell me about how he battled MC Shan. MC Shan was hot, but was never no lyrical threat. But I'll fuck with Shan over KRS-One any day.

How long can The Bronx hold on to The Furious Five? It's been over 20 years...move on.

What I'm saying about Staten Island is, they haven't had a lot of rappers repping for them, but the few that did come out had hits and classics. And yes UMC's. The production from that first album is classic. That dude was WAY before his time.

You can't say that about a Lord Finesse album.

I GOT MIXTAPES FROM NY RAPPERS RIGHT NOW AND A LOT OF IT IS HOT!!!I LIKE PAPOOSE ION KNOW WHAT YALL OTHA NIGGAS TALKIN BOUT THAT NIGGA IS TALENTED!!!I GOT SHIT FROM THE BAY AREA TOO AND ITS HOTT!!!I COSIGN YALL NEEDA CHECK FO THAT UNDERGROUND SHIT CUZ THIS SHIT OUT NOW JUST POP SHIT POPULAR FO THE MOMENT AND YALL GON SEE REAL NIGGAS THIS YEAR WATCH!!YALL GON SEE REAL NIGGAS FROM THE SOUTH,FROM THE NORTH,FROM THE MIDWEST,AND THE WEST!

Harlem over BX? Mase-Hell to the naw. Fool is str8 garbage and is 50's butler now. Cam-He aight, but u gotta be high. The only one I really feel is Big L (R.I.P.) He and Jay probably the best to bless a mic.

you aint gotta feel papoose but at the end of the day, his on his grind.

i personally think he is sick but the way he is flooding the streets with mixtapes and spitting mathematics on beats is fire.

aint none of you punks heard alphabetical slaughter, flashback or rebel music??

catch up n!ggas!!!

I thought they fired this bum (MR.Irreverent)

Respect your opinion eventhough I really think you are just doing this to have a 500 comment blog.

Papoose is garbage?
he is the most lyrical rapper there is In my opinion, every song u hear from him weather its fire or sometimes boring, there is always a line or two that make u say "damnnn, did he really just say that"...

So who is hott? the south??? when I talk shit on the south, I have half of Sohh.com staff defending the south, 100's of niggaz sayin ohh they doin their thing, and you know what I agree, and i stopped my hate towards the south, and I actually give it a try here and there. But which south artist is a better lyricist than papoose(i dont wanna compare NY vs. south) but just a thing that came to mind...
PEOPLE ALWAYS COMPARE NEW YORK AGAINST THE SOUTH (which is more that 1 state)

P.S: I heard about u gettin fired too.. but I also thought you had a heart attack afterwards

good to see u around!

what the hell kind of topic is this, you almost lost your job now here you are sucking up to ny so you can keep your job, you cant write or come up with a decent blog. sohh get this bum out of here please

im just waiting for a 50 cent dick rider to start stroking his cock.

oh yeah streets wanna know mixtape is ill still.

Well said Jayisee. Finally someone who knows their hip hop history because these fools damn sure dont.

Yo, I am aware of the quality of production on that corny ass UMC album. The production was nothing short of fantastic and the album was still CORNY!

KRS overrated? Ever heard of Return of the Bom Bap?

And on the whole Staten Island topic, I gotta set you straight, even Long Island is more significant in Hip Hop: Rakim, EPMD, De La Soul, Public Enemy, Biz Markie (yes, he's really from Long Island).

And just so we don't forget another legendary Bronx Hip Hop group, you need to put the Jungle Brothers on your list.

I agree with u Mr.Irrevenret but once again I am an Irish 16yr. old kid from Wyoming, I could be wrong

OK ill stop hatin on MrIrreverent, cuz at least he dont delete all my comments!

I wonder if its cuz he cant read(just a joke, not hate intended)

I read on the newspaper that NYTimes gave him "two thumbs up" and he ran and sat on them(the 2 thumbs) and thats how he got his job back

What about Ultramagnetic? They were the blueprint for so many MC's and crews coming up around 88.

Supreme with the SLAM Dunk indeed! Ultramagnetic, no doubt. Respect.

"Me? Fired? My cheeks say otherwise. I'm more laid than your average freelance writer for XXL."

wow cant believe u said that lol

i just wanna thank God MrIrrelevant is alive

Maybe you will step your game up this year Mr. Irrelevant.

what have i been tellin' my bronx friend all along? The BX is WACK when it comes to hip hop.

Let's be real here, the best come from Queens. Who we got? Nas, Mobb Deep, Run DMC, The G UNOT (just 'cuz they make mad money), russell simmons, LL Cool J...I could go ON. Who the Bronx got?

Fat Joe.

Exactly.

good looking to SupremeDunk with for bringing up Ultramagnetic MC's. i didn't think anybody that posted here knew anything about hip hop in the early 80's

You know, usually I try to be respectful and levelheaded when I come on these blogs but......... Irreverent, yousa hankerchief head, no knowledge havin', Plymouthrock done landed on you, Clarence Thomas-ass, Molasses on my cornbread having Negro. It's called evolution. Hip-Hop has evolved past New York and people from all areas have stepped up. But if Grand Master Cas didn't rhyme about Evette, LL wouldn't have rhymed about Evette and then Chingy would have bitten that whole style for his first single. If Melle Mell did hit us off with "The "Hard Times" and Tupac wouldn't have spit "Keep Ya Head Up". If Flash hadn't cut up "Sing Sing" then Jazzy Jeff Wouldn't have transformed " To Be Real" and Q-Bert would have created all the bizzare styles he's created. It's truly not about record sales it's about creativity. I mean, rappers talk about "Hot 16's" Who created the 16 bar rhyme style? KRS-One did. I think you just like startin' shit to get a reaction and ,well, you did. And I ain't even from New York. West Philly all day, you test tube baby.

Correction: Melle Mell= "the Message" Run DMC Hard Times then Tupac with " Keep Your Head Up" My bad.

What about Corey Gunz? That cat can spit it.

Thanks for sucking me off Mr. Irreverent. I should fire you more often.

DAMN YALL DROPPIN KNOWLEDGE I NEED TO DO MORE RESEARCH ON THE OLD SCHOOL!!OH YEAH THAT NEW YOUNG NIGGA COREY GUNZ IS HOTT TOO U RIGHT!!

yeah corey gunz is nice cant forget about shells.damn how could i forget ultra still got the critical beatdown tape.way ahead of there time.what about doo wops whole click lord tariq.check those old mix tapes out.that was a good time in hip hop.remember trouble neck brothers gusto.that was one of maybe 3 good joints they had.shit even tim dogs first shit was hot.
rap will never die in the bronx.

I know you just say shit to get a rise out of people, and so do I: S

Seriously if you're from NY and you don't like Papoose, you're not Hip Hop.

I agree with you that the BX needs to step it up but let's give respect where it's due. The Bronx created Hip Hop culture as a whole which is much bigger than rap music so in order for your argument to be valid you must assess all of the elements of Hip Hop. When it comes to dance (Crazy Legs and the whole Rock Steady Crew), DJing (Grandmaster Flash, Grand Wizard Theodore), and Graf (Lee Quinones, Dondi, Dez aka Kay Slay) the BX will always come out on top. Anyone can become great at any of these elements but I just named the G.O.A.T in each field and no one can argue with that. Let's look at Hip Hop as a whole and not just Rap Music. Also regardless of what the deal is always respect the birth place of Hip Hop because the culture belongs to the Bronx and they let the rest of the world be a part of it. Thanks to the BX!

This blog proves a couple of things, 1. Mr. Irreverent doesnt know a thing about hip hop
2. Mr.Irreverent doesn't know how to create a blog
3. Mr.Irreverent is truly an internet thug, talking wreckless about Papose, knowing dam well he wouldnt say that to Papose's face.
SOHH get this dude out of here

Mr Irreverent, since NY sucks, which to me is the dumbest shit I ever heard, but at the end of the day is just an opinion, I would like to hear from you who you think doesnt suck or who do you like since NY 'sucks'

I would like to hear that from you. It should be interesing if you answer

'it doesnt matter who started it but who finished it'-Irreverent

So does that mean rap is finished? If so, blame it on anyone(Nelly, Laffy taffy, lil weezy, chingy, etc) but obviously not on NY cuz like you said "NY IS IN A COMA"...
which proves the point that WITHOUT NY:
THE RAP GAME IS "FINISHED"

I AGREE WIT ANDRE THATS TRUE AND GOOD POINT MASTAMIND LOL!!

AWW DAMN THEM D4L NIGGAS IS ON BET RAP CITY RIGHT NOW...LET ME CHANGE THE DAMN CHANNEL SHIT IS SADDD!!

YOU'RE FIRED!!!!!

Nah just fucking witchu trynna get my dick sucked

The word from London Mr Irreverent is that Papoose and Saigon is fire along with this nigga Jae Millz so I know you a laffy taffy bumpin, mariah carey singin nigga who don't know shit. I know you jus tryin to get a rise outta these niggas but you don't have to run your mouth talkin all this bullshit without backin it up, negro please, get a real job nigga, or at least get one which you're good at.

This is my list of the Dumbest Blog Writers of all time

1.Mr. Irreverent
2.Mrs. Irreverent
3.Mr. Irreverent JR
4.Mr. Irreverent sr
5.Mr. Irreverent's boss (for hiring the bum)

Everybody know Mr Irreverent is a internet thug who makes comments for shock value. YOu really need to be fired!

LOL DENO!SHIT IS DISGUSTIN I KNOW!

BREAKING NEWS:

Last week we reported that Mr. Irreverent was fired from SOHH as a dumbass blog writer well it turns out that he was, but decided to show up to work anyway. right now police has the SOHH building surounded as they trying to evacuate the building and save people from this crazed ex blog writer when police asked the mad blog writer what his demands were he said he just wanted some cigarettes and a dildo

stay tune for more developments on this story

Um, Jungle Bros. are from all over. Afrika is from BK. Mike G is from Harlem. Sammy B is from The Bronx.

Know your shit.

hgchgxc

I love how you people go off topic. I said 'COMMERICALLY' and 'ARTISTICALLY'. I didn't say just record sales.

When was the last time the Bronx has a real movement? When it comes to RAP MUSIC at THIS TIME, The Bronx is not that good.

All this talk about I got fired and stuff is just some bitch shit. Argue with fact.

Don't give me that bullshit about KRS-One being the best. That's something you HEARD about. Do you have tapes? You can dig up a Cold Crush tape of them battling. You can dig up a Kool Moe Dee tape going at Busy Bee, but can you dig up a KRS-One tape? Think about it, since day one this guy has called himself the nicest emcee ever, but has battled no one but MC Shan and PM Dawn. KRS-One is a hot lyricist, but his battles do not exist.

As a whole, the only person from NYC that is really popping is Juelz Santana, Hell Rell and Saigon by default. Saigon is fading in my opinion. I guess you could lump D-Block in there.

SOHH Irreverent : And what about Papoose boy? That nigga is gettin mad love in the UK so how you not gonna give him his props? Oh shit I forgot you ain't been outside yo mama's house let alone your country so you would'nt know about none of that ain't that right?

REALLY IM FEELIN JR WRITER TOO I HATED HIM AT 1ST CUZ HE SOUND LIKE CAM BUT HES KINDA GOOD ON THEM MIXTAPES AND HIS NEW SINGLE IS KINA GOOD.JOELL ORTIZ IS HOTT TOO!!

SKYZOO IS HOT TOO ALMOST FORGOT BOUT THAT NIGGA!!!

Actually i got this from The real mr irreverent's sister. The guys real name is Cliff jackson and he is something like 56 years old.He is originally from Ackley,Iowa. Cliff (mr Irreverent)lived near the Hazzl Green Cemetery in Ackley- It's an old cemetery about 5 miles south of Ackley out in the country. There"s a gazebo and there is said to be and old lady sitting in a rocking chair holding a baby. She said that Cliff (Irreverent) used to work as a security guard for the cementry,he got fired sometime back for allowing "illegal" people to Practise some "bad" rituals in the cementry during the wee hours of the morning.
Since then he has been making a meagre $ 12 for every posting he makes on sohh ( keep in mind that he posts 5 days a week, that means something like $60 per week minus taxes leaving him something like $48 every week)

He has no wife ,kids just 4 brothers and 6 sisters. He used to do some "music way back in the late 1970s to the late 1980s.he gave up on that. His sister says that he now leaves with one of people working for sohh.
anyway thats it as far as it goes with Mr Irreverent

I aint even from NY and its obvious that this irreverent dude dont know what the kcuf he talking about.

I think that the point of the blog is about how the bronx isn't commercial. No one really has touched the subject. But that's just it. It was never meant to be commercial. I saw Andre say it was shared. It wasn't shared intentionally my nigga. It was leaked like your favorite mixtape. Bronx ain't never had no conference or meeting to my knowledge to say hip hop was ok for the rest of us(outsiders) to enjoy and do with as we please. That's the reason the south gets hated so much right now. We ain't doing it right, like if you never drove a car before, the first couple of times you might fuck some shit up. Don't mean you aint trying. Anyhow.

It all goes back to first record deal, or at least the first one agreed upon by all the old heads(from what I've seen). Sugarhill gang. It took the RAP part of hip hop, out of the Bronx, like almost without permission. Shit got into the corporate world(record owners saw $$$'s) and it was over. Its wild, kuz I see NY niggas doing it hard, just outta love for the shit. But now the corporate world has it to where it can sustain its own version of rap to the world. You know business is ran. Fuck reparations for slavery, Bronx need reparations for getting jacked!!! But on the other hand, had that not happened, I in heart of hearts truly beleive that if it was left up to NY hip hop would only come from NY. Yall niggas aint no share with me, lets get money type niggas, stop playin. Every crew up there go head to head to be on top. Yet look how much the south leans on each other for support. I'm telling you now, WHEN NEW YORK LEARNS TO TEAM UP LIKE IN HOUSTON OR ATL, ITS GOING TO BE A HELLUVA DAY FOR THE RAP GAME. But it'll never happen.....later.....

wow ya'll are really catchin' some feelings over this shit

shakeem you need to hang it up with those stupid "breaking news" posts. you're really acting like a bitch-made sixth grader and you can't spell for shit, either. that doesn't really lend you much credibility when you're trying to break down mr. irreverent for being a bad writer.

my 2 cents: new york rap has been eclipsed by the rest of the country, but the best lyricists still reside here. and just a thought; how come motherfuckers sleep on pharoahe monch constantly? ya'll heard "internal affairs"? shit is fire.

juelz santana?
is he a better lyricist than papoose?
lol

BUSTA NEW SHIT IS CRAZY!!

I AGREE WIT SCHEMATICS BUT I GUESS U KNOW HIP HOP IS ALSO BOUT COMPETITION IN EVERY ASPECT OF IT!THATS JUST HOW IT IS AND HOW ITS ALWAYS BEEN!!IT MIGHT HAPPEN THO NEVA KNOW!CUZ ALL THIS HOSPITALITY AINT GON LAST LONG EITHER ONCE COMPETITION GETS THICK!LIL WAYNE BEEN CLAIMIN TO BE THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE WHILE T.I. CLAIMS TO BE THE KING OF THE SOUTH SOMETHIN GON GO DOWN!COMPETITION GON GET THICK ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME CUZ IT ALWAYS HAPPENS!!

PHAROAHE MONCH?I NEVA REALLY HEARD ANY OF HIS SHIT TOO MUCH TO BE ABLE TO JUDGE HIM!!

Man I hope ths ain't gonna turn into another bitchin session between NY and the South. Ted Danson said it best, NY is definitely gettin eclipsed by other areas in the States right now (the South) but the best lyricists are still in NY and if that shit is true about Mr Irreverent, man, you one sad son of a bitch get you a plane ticket and get the hell out of the States cos fuckin dead people ain't cool, and no Mr Irreverent it does'nt count as a shag cos they dead.

NAW AINT NOTHIN GON TURN INTO NOTHIN WE JUST ALL CONVERSIN WITHOUT THE BITCHIN LOL!!

SEE THEM NIGGAS OVER THERE THEY SCEAMIN TO ROB U/ BUT AS LONG AS IM HERE NOBODY GOIN HARM YOU/ bUT IM BOUT TO LEAVE I CAN'T CONTROL IT FOR U/ GIVE ME YA CHAIN AND YA WATCH IM HOLD IT FOR YOU/ GIVE ME YA RING TOO YEAH IM GOIN GIVE IT BACK/ STUPID NIGGAS FALL FOR SOME SHIT LIKE THAT/ YOU AINT EVEN GOTTA STICK A SWEET VIC LIKE THAT/ YOU CAN TALK OUT HIS JEWLS HE A BITCH LIKE THAT

Papoose is sick wit it. Plus Joe Budden New Mixtape Fire. I dont know if these dudes are gonna sell through the roof but you cant deny the skill

Told you Papoose is dope, any of these niggas who think he ain't got talent you need to get smacked upside the head, he may not move huge units but he still is the shit.

ALLREADY!! ALPHABETICAL SLAUGHTER BY PAPOOSE IS CRAZY!

I HAD TO PULL OUT A DICTIONARY THO BUT HEY I LEARNED SOME SHIT FROM THAT TRACK ALPHABETICAL SLAUGHTER!

N.Y Hip Hop has lost it's identity. Once you see cats from NYC bouncin',gangbangin' and syrup sippin, you know that there is something wrong with the entire scene. Get mad if you want but you know I speak the truth.

Obviously I'm not from New York, (East Oakland to be exact representing the entire Bay)but I still bump, Gangstarr, Tribe, De la, D.I.T.C,BDP, PE, Eric B. and Rakim etc, etc. New York cats had some real swagger, but now they are trying to hard to chase fads and trends when they were the original trendsetters.

It's so ironic that N.Y made up the term "Biting" and have become the biggest biters in the game... period.

Keep It Real?

While yall are on papoose....I aint really pay him much attention until about 6 months ago. He does have skills Im not gonna stunt.

uhhh bouncing? Last time I checked gangs were everywhere including some of the originators of hip hop, but I think I know what you're trying to say. Ive heard of "syrup" but aint really seen anybody try to make monkey off of it besides the dips.I've seen some bay area ppl getting "grills" like the next person, their own version of crunk, and "shakin their dreads".

OHHH LORD HERE WE GO!!!LOL

YEA U SLEPT ON PAPOOSE THEN!!WHO ELSE IS HOT THAT NOBODY AINT NAME??

Jedi Mind Tricks are hot but they're not really new...theyre not commercial enough to be more than underground artists but its all good. I meant "money" not "monkey" HAHA.

*Uno* I'm ghost. Yall have fun.

NEVA HEARD OF THEM!!IMMA LOOK FOR THEM SEE IF THEY HOT THO!!

We ain't got none of the sizzurp in the UK what the hell is it anyways? Is it novocaine or some shit? And Curt McGirt I can't speak on no shit that happens in the States but gangs are everywhere nigga, in London we mostly got Yardies which is a Jamaican gang and they real ruthless muthafuckas. If you want a real slept on nigga what about Red Cafe, that nigga from Brooklyn, he got skills too.

Worst BLOG ever. Period.

Mr. Irreverant...does it suck that no one respects your opinion?

Or does it suck worse that you are incapable of defending your opinion?

And you still make nothing. You are on a website my friend, and I'd rather write for XXL than write the garbage you write.

Rap evolves, get over it. Hip-Hop is a world-wide community. It is not just New York's anymore. We thank New York for breaking it on the scene...but now other people are trying to take it to the next level. You can't knock the hustle...I think a MC said that.

Do your homework.

Come on people this shit is so transparent, it's a conspiracy.
Don't let blogmasters or ignorant bloggers push your buttons.
The world knows "The Bronx" gave them Hip Hop culture.
it is irrefutable and no one can go up against that fact!...
The reason why "The Bronx" isn't flooding the market with hot Mc's is because A&R's are not checking for them.
But it's ok because Bronx niggers are trendsetters and they will soon pioneer another movement that will inject new life into Hip Hop.
I love "The Bronx" and i thank god i was born in "The Bronx" and was part of history while i was standing in the parks watching
D.J. Hollywood,Grandmaster flash,Disco King Mario and Grand Wizard Theodore with their treacherous Mc's lay the foundation and blueprint for todays imitators.
The Bronx in actuality is Mecca and it is sac religous for any Hip Hop head to speak blasphemy against this holy Hip Hop borough.
But it is all good i ain't tripping because like they say "you gotta start worrying when they stop talking about you!"....
Peace To The Whole Mighty Zulu Nation and To The whole New York City, nothing or anyone can take my love away from you!!!!!!!.......

Oh i almost forgot!!!.
Check for D-Rich in 2006, he is a dominican M.c from "The Bronx" that will bring heat that will scorch this barren Hip Hop land!!!....

FIGGZ : Are you a faggot? Why you got love for every man in NYC? Does that mean you love me? Does that mean you wanna felch my ass out?

Ayo what up FIGGZ, how ya livin son? I done heard D-Rich last night and that kid is pretty dope. BIGDOG : Shut the fuck up you stanky ass nigga.

Oh, one more thing EnglandRepresent, if you do got that Paul Wall(sarcasm), I do, the best song the cd is called Sippin tha Barre. Coincidence??? Or could it be that I was LEANIN' like a mug when I heard it?!!?!!!??

Damn Schematics you like a chemist or some shit!!! So that shit gets your lean on huh? My boy Dane be from St Louis and he got me recently havin some of them Xanex, I had like 2 of them a blunt and a couple of beers and I was messed up for real. I woke up at my girl's house and she lives in North London, I stay in Brixton, South London, thats like goin 1 1/2 hours on the Tube and I can't remember shit. How does the sizzurrp compare to that Xanex cos if it is similar I understand why all these Southern rappers be spittin slow and shit!!!

See we really don't be poppin them pills like that though, some of my boys do, but mainly them college niggas. Man just imagine if your LIFE was screwed and chopped for a day. Its definitely an experience. If you ever get a chance to get a chopped&screwed disc of damn near ANYBODY poppin like Jayz, slim thug, Bone, TI, Paul wall, but really I like Pac screwed&chopped, and that nigga David Banner. Those are really two of the best mainstream cds that are available worldwide, its really catching on japan. I know you don't really have access to all the screw I do. But the most tripped out shit EVER is being in Japan, looking at a Jap chick with those eyes, and she high, you high, bangin screw. It will trip you out!!!!

I have to say I don't smoke with the syrup no more since I got my new job. Just sippin syrup is a cool little buzz. I mean I used to worry kuz the originator of screw, DJ screw died. Everybody was saying he was doing it too much. He died at 29. Hell I'm 27. So I don't do it like I did when I was in the military. But I did for new years though!!! I HAD TO!!!!

If you want to be so high you cant stand it, get ya lean, get that "pine", and bang the screw. You'll see why it got the dipset messin gwith the south. NO JOKE. http://www.i10music.com/

Yeah you know what Schematics thats a nigga I ain't even spoke on yet and thats that David Banner, that nigga is dope. I ain't heard much chopped and screwed shit but I'm always open to it. I can't smoke durin the week cos of my job as well, but damn as soon as Friday come I'm fittin to get me some white owls and some of that herb and get blazed. It fucks ya head up if ya get ya smoke on too much though. Where can I get me some sizzurp though?

Now I know this blogger irrelevant clearly does not know or come from the essence of hip hop culture.

First is first. There is no debate. NYC has been, will be and is the MECCA of hip hop.

The South, MidWest, West together don't even compile a roster that could ever touch NYC. And that's NY alone.

Lyrics: who is better than Nas, Prodigy, Jay Z, Jada, Kweli, Mos Def, and I'm just talking about 2006 artists.

Historically, who can fuck w/Big, PE, BDP, Run DMC, Wutang, Black Moon, Brand Nubian, RedMan (yes we claims Jersey too), EPMD, Mobb Deep, etc?

Commercially NY is dead? Really? Last time I checked 50 and the Unit had the commercial game on lock. Jay-Z is continuously platinum and is the fucking Prez. of Def Jam. All the flashy, key players are NYC. Russel, Jay, Kevin Liles, Lyor Cohen, Puffy, Steve Stoute, Chris Lighty.

All the top DJs are NYC - from Slay to Clue to Flex it's ridiculous.

Name your top regional artist...Jeezy - comes to Jay to get paid. Game is nothing w/out Jimmy Henchmen. The entire South is a novelty act verging on a minstrel show (exceptions granted to Outkast and 1 or 2 other NY influenced MCs).

NY IS THE MECCA - LETS NOT GET IT TWISTED.

I read this interveiw(hip hop game or somethin like that)about Jaz-o.And the man said rap came from JAZZ.When nyc school system cut music they began they own JAZZ music.Wit beatin on tables and shit like that.At first I thought the rap came from reggae. But when u listen to JAZZ say it wit me JAAZZZZ the flow is the same. And where did JAAZZZ come from? The South. This might be the reasons the South is dominatin rap.And because of my disagreements wit n.y.Many people probally wont agree wit me(BUT CHI-TOWN NIGGAS DONT GIVE A FUK)But if u do the research then u will know Chicago gangs to use garfrtti to draw symbols to mark territory since the 50's and 60's.The only thing ny can take credit for is break dancin.Theey dont even like club music. So ny need to put back on they yankee hats go run some numbers for the "goodfellas."Take the little money lucky luchiano give yall update yall mix tapes to CD'S.And buy that new 'Scarface'movie on DVD and pretend to be gangstas again.

Man this always turns into NY vs South bullshit, y'all niggas in the States need a hug or something. Brixton all day niggas.

NY rappers can spit but they can't make good songs.

Irreverent doesn't really know what he's talking about. he said that he'd rather listen to MC Shan than KRS-One, which means he'd rather listen to party shit than some lyricism. which is why he doesn't like Papoose or most NYC rap. Commercial doesn't make it better, slim. that's the reason D.C. ain't on the map right now...there's a high volume of lyricists here, and not enough commercially-accepted rappers. the niggaz that's about to blow from here are commercial-type rappers. they some real hood niggaz, but still commercial rap-wise. y'all probably seen em on BET Uncut with that video with Paul Wall, One Way Family. Chocolate City Commission bout to get put on too, but they commercial too. for the most part, D.C. is either lyricists like underground NY (with a D.C. flow, though) or they on some 3-6 Mafia/8Ball & MJG type of thing. but basically, the point is a lot of great artists are missed out on, whether it's D.C., New York, Cali, or wherever cuz of record execs and fans like Irreverent who just want some shit to nod they're heads to instead of something to make em think. niggaz hate thinking like it's illegal or something. that's the reason fuckin "Laffy Taffy" is all over the radio and videos...i blame Irreverent. D4L's probably writing him a thank-you email right now

AND BY THE WAY WHOEVER SAID THAT THE SOUTH CANT BE COMPILED TO KNOCK OFF NY..U GOT LIFE FUCKED UP---LUDACRIS.PAUL WALL.BUN B. GANGSTA BOO.SCARFACE.SLIM THUG.BIG BOI. 8BALL&MJG...JUST TO NAME A FEW. america must like "the minstrel show" BC THE SOUTH IS ON TOP AND HAS BEEN FOR A MINUTE. NOT WITH JUST RAP BUT R&B AS WELL.

EnglandRepresent(told you no unity), either:

1. Tell your Doctor you got a cough that keeps you up at night and you have tried robotussin DM and it didnt work. 90% percent of the time you will get some syrup.

2. or if you like me, you got a nigga thats ALWAYS sick. I got this nigga from GA always got percocet, I slang em for 5-15$ depending on how high the demand is. Same for syrup, sip it or charge your friends $15 an ounce NO LESS I'M TELLING YOU. I slangs anything I can get my hands on man. I'm a hustler man, I swear I gotta be something like the definition of it. Till then later on niggas!!!

BXCONNECT, I'm sure you know this, but I must point out the fact that JOE BUDDENS is from The Bricks. I didn't read everything, but yall forgeting MAINO. "Shoot em up" is a great fucking song.

Yo Irreverant,

You're right about the Jungle Brothers, my mistake.

I still don't see your point on KRS. I don't have a tape of Rakim battling either, does that discredit his "Commercial" and "Artistic" influence? NO.

KRS don't need tapes to prove his legacy, he had a prime that spanned 10 years and didn't even begin to fall off until his 9th album. ALBUM, not TAPE.

Maybe Duke would've battled more if any of his peers had the heart to step to him. I have a live tape of KRS at Central park in '92 and he called out LL right there in front of everybody. LL never retaliated. It's not KRS fault that he had the whole induustry shook for so long.

I'm not even from NewYork and even a country boy like myself can see that no matter where hiphop sells for the moment...there will always be a movement in NewYork! There are some great rappers in N.Y.: Jean Grae, Saigon, Cory Gunz, (I heard papoose, and thought he was very lyrical on what I heard) You see that's what you check for...the lyrics! If the rapper has the lyrics, you can find the beat! The beat and the hook can be written by any moron!

Irreverent Doesnt Wipe his Ass.

DAT'S WRONG! I CREATED HIP-HOP. I DIDS IT 2 GET ALL DEM SEXXXXXXY MENS 2 GET ALL RUFFS WIT ME! KISSES!

Actually for those who think this isn't a good blog, read it, then think. Has the topic starter caused you to click his link repeatedly to see if someone else posted? Yup, has controversy without violence, racism or ignorance started? Yup, the fact that there is a a difference of opinioin in any thread makes good conversation. The topic starter planted the seed, now look at the tree growing. Great blog, great bait, yall all are fish!

Theres so much going on out there and a lot of them are so much better than these so called rappers out now and this is coming from a NC nigga.Hip Hop wasnt created for it to go commercial anyway and all the elements put together IS an artform.Of course its gonna be a lot of NY rappers that aint commercial cuz a lot of them dont want to be commercial like 50 cent rich but not respected.Im sure some of them got they own hustles going on anyway on top of rapping to get paper on the side. Its all starting from the basics now like it was when it first started and I think theyre just trying to bring lyrics back, the streets back with more awareness, and wake niggas up from the dead thats been sleeping and ignoring the shit that goes on today.Just cuz Im from North Carolina and from the south dont mean I like whats out right now so dont judge all southerners as ppl who dont listen to lyrics. To be honest I dont like whats out right now...and Im not into regions.I listen for lyrics no matter where its from, the beat of course, the delivery ect.I think no one can do it like NY does it.People come close but they just aint NY.Maybe thats because I grew up on hip hop but its just the truth like if every single NY rapper started doing just crunk tracks they'd come close to crunk rappers but they still wont be crunk. So just because everybody wants to rap now like NY is just showing how much they so called sucked. If they sucked then people wouldnt have been influenced by them till this day.Go-go so called sucks but I dont see a movement going like with Hip Hop and Go Go been out before Hip Hop.Papoose just needs to work on his flow cuz its monotone but he is great with lyrics and the whole nine.If he gets that together he's unstoppable.

Killa-p u responded too so I guess youre a fish right with us pimp.

But yeah this a good topic to discuss and Ive heard a lot of those rappers that ya'll listed and most of them a 90x better than most rappers out right now. They just gotta try to be more commercial without getting caught up in the corporates trap.

Who came up with this blog everybody knows hip hop started in the BX and this is why and only why this happened:

As liberal as New York is, White people with money can’t turn a deal down like that even if it does come from a racist and conservative president. To all my young people reading this who may not remember Reagan, didn’t you notice when he died last year, black folk could have cared less? So anyway, as the richest in New York got their money back, the Blacks and Latinos truly suffered as that money came out of their programs and communities.

The best way to vent that anger without killing each other, came in the form of just talking and dancing it out to a bangin’ beat. Black folk have always used music and rhythm to vent frustration going back to when we were considered property but kept it crunk outside the slave quarters around the fire. MC’s such as Rakim, KRS-1, LL Cool J, Run DMC, Public Enemy, Rapper’s Delight, Big Daddy Kane, and the Fat Boys managed to vent the frustrations of Reagan policies while also providing a new way to get down and keep the girls shakin’ what they knew they needed to. This new art form spread across the nation quickly. Everybody could appreciate what New York created. Now if you are an East Coast hip-hop critic reading this, here is where you need to really start paying attention…

New York is a vastly different cultural existence than every other city in the country. With all the money White people have created for themselves up there, the city budget allowed for the most extensive public transportation system in the nation and probably in the world (i.e., cars are not a staple of life like they are for black people everywhere else in the nation, they are only a bonus, especially with those insurance prices y’all have to pay). The tall housing projects are like nowhere else other than Chicago (and we’ll get on that later). The abundance of cultures, seeing how New York used to be the only port for immigrants, is so much different than the usual black and white, and/or Mexican realities for the rest of the country. All that to say that in other cities, MC’s started popping up to tell stories that related to their own local situation more so than subway stories.

As Reagan took the money away from the hood, he ironically started using it to fund locking up all the brothers that resided there with his BS “war on drugs”. Therefore even though this country was allowing all the drugs (especially cocaine) into the country, our Black and Latino brothers were being locked up for making money off of it. Police became more corrupt than ever as Supreme Court decisions on 4th, 5th, and 6th amendment issues started leaning more conservatively and in law enforcement’s favor under William Rehnquist as chief justice.

My first real memory of hip-hop came from watching NWA straight outta Compton on Rap City over my cousin Donnie’s house. Their song "F*ck tha Police" captured how a lot of brothers were feeling during the mid to late eighties. New York hip-hop critics wondered two things at this point; 1. Wow, there are black people in other parts of the country? 2. Wow, I thought you had to live in New York to be frustrated with the system. While the rest of the country took this song as a classic, New York hip-hop critics painted these guys as just a bunch of angry Jeri Curled rappers not from New York. Then when Public Enemy comes out with their copycat song (as New York hip hop usually does) “911 Is a Joke”; they are viewed as all conscious and revolutionary.

My next memory of hip-hop comes from the first album I owned “The Chronic” which is oen of the most influential hip-hop albums of all-time. This album started the West Coast revolution which is why it’s not surprising this album never ends up on the “top 5 albums of all time” lists that you see done by various magazines and online sites operated by East Coast critics. The West Coast caught the ear of record labels who flocked to get more production out of artists from the The West Coast. The sound was more marketable nationwide and as I stated earlier, people were able to better relate to brothers in Los Angeles than in New York.

Instead of being happy that the art form New York created, was so popular nationwide, New York critics started hating. I remember hearing the Geto Boys’ first hit “My Mind’s Playin Tricks on Me”. This song that told the sad story of how poverty and cocaine had it’s grasp on most hoods, became a classic. In New York, the Geto Boys were not taken very seriously simply for the fact they were from Houston. I don’t get it New York critics!!! Why do you have to be from New York, where hip-hop spawned, to be a classic MC? The Motown sound originated in Detroit. Did people in Detroit respect Ray Charles less because he was from North Florida? Hell no! Jazz originated in New Orleans. Did people in the South respect Duke Ellington less because he made the Harlem Renaissance sound famous? No!!! Why then do New York hip-hop critics never give as much credit and respect to artists from other localities as they do their own?

Getting back to the West Coast, as their dominance continued, New York critics had to find a way to discredit them. They were labeled “too gangsta” and not as strong “lyrically” as East Coast artists. Y’all know what? New York hip-hop critics use the word “lyrically” the same way the Bush campaign and republicans use the word “moral values”. What the hell does it mean?!!! I’ll tell you what it means. Just as the term “moral values” means not being gay and not for gay rights or abortion rights, the word “lyrically” means being from New York.

Every MC coming out of the West Coast in the early to mid 90’s was lyrically strong. The thing was, New York critics didn’t listen as they usually don’t. They’ll listen very hard to find a few lines (out of context at that) that they can dismiss and then apply them to the whole album and as a basis for proving the artist not “lyrically” strong (and remember, this rule only applies to artists not from the East Coast). The West Coast was getting all the radio play (except of course in NY) and dominating record sales. Rather it was Snoop talking about Los Angeles street life or Too Short talking about pimpin’ in Oakland, West Coast artists gave the story of what their hoods were like. Other than Nas (whose “Illmatic” is always on the top 5 lists but “Doggystyle” is not), Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul, and A Tribe Called Quest, New York was putting out bullshit in the early to mid 90’s.

Then Sean Combs/Puff Daddy/Puffy/P. Diddy/Diddy, in a strategic move, decides to introduce us to an “artist from the East Coast” Mr. Notorious B.I.G. I just knew the East Coast critics would slam Biggie for doing the same gangsta rap they were so busy dismissing as not “lyrically” strong among West Coast artists. To my profound surprise, he becomes New York’s savior and a “lyrical genius”. Not to mention his Napoleon complexed “gangbanger" friends Junior M.A.F.I.A. I’m not saying Big wasn’t hot, but I don’t see what he was doing so different from Snoop and Warren G. But New York critics in their arrogance and tunnel vision saw something that I didn’t and labeled him the king of hip-hop.

I moved to Atlanta when I was 10. The Miami Bass sound was big here but was dismissed as usual by New York critics who labeled it “booty music”. They showed more disregard to the South than they did to the West Coast, even though Luke from 2 Live Crew made it possible for these new East Coast “gangsters” to say whatever they wanted. Luke took a case all the way to the Supreme Court fighting for hip-hop’s right to free speech and freedom of expression, which was cornerstone to the art form’s movement. He won and so did hip-hop. In 1994, Outkast dropped their first album Southernplayalisticaddilacmuzic. People wonder why Atlanta is so big on the music scene and has been for the last 13 years. It began with L.A. Reid and Babyface starting their record label here, LaFace. Outkast did really well under the production and went platinum.

At the Source Awards in 1995 when Snoop gave the East Coast crowd a nice, well earned "F*ck y’all!" and Suge Knight managed to bitch Puffy, something happened that in the South will never be forgotten. Outkast won in the best new artist category. East Coast hip-hop critics had brainwashed so many people in NY to thinking that only good MC’s came out of New York, people were booing my boys Andre and Big Boi. I mean seriously booing as if it were Ronald Reagan that came on stage or something! This was also the fault of NY radio who refused to play anything other than NY hip-hop so most people never got a chance to hear how well put together that album was. That point right there is where my contempt for East Coast hip-hop critics and radio began.

I started noticing things about them. East Coast critics name the king of hip-hop according to whoever happens to be hot at the moment (and they MUST be from New York). Take for instance Jay-Z. I’m going to let all those in NY know something. He is not the undisputed king in hip-hop to the rest of us in the country. He is YOUR king. Many of us can’t understand why you would elevate such a corny person to royalty anyway.

Well here’s my take on Jigga/Hova/Jayz/Jay-Z or whatever the hell he’s calling himself today. I was on the East Coast between New York, Jersey, and Massachusetts the entire summer of ’96. Everybody thought he was lame as hell with that “Ain't No Nigga” BULLSHIT. That summer most people were listening to “All Eyez on Me”, which was released that previous February, and NY’s new king for the moment Nas. While Biggie was recording tracks for “Life After Death”, Nas was ruling the charts (and "the world" for that matter with Lauryn Hill) with “It Was Written”.

More so in New York all you heard being played was Nas, LL Cool J, The Lost Boys, and Junior M.A.F.I.A. that summer of '96. Jay-Z was nobody until Biggie died. NY critics then stripped the “king” title from Nas who they considered too commercial because of LP's such as “Nastradamus” and singles such as "You Owe Me" (Okay, that was the worst song ever behind the stomach sickening track "Oochie Wally"). Funny because the East Coast critics then contradicted themselves by giving “The Blueprint” a “classic” status when all Jay-Z did was put out corny singles such as "IZZO" (biting West Coast Slang) and talk about money and his alcoholic beverage. Because he was getting all this airplay he is the undisputed king even though when West Coast artists were dominating the radio (outside of NY of course) they were nobodies.

He is a rhyme biter more than Puffy ever was a beat biter. The way Bush plays off people's emotions about 9/11, Jay-Z has made a career playing off the emotions and sadness centered around Biggie's death. 30-42% of his rhymes are Biggie's, he has bitten Tupac's rhymes (after being bitched by him on the first track of "Makaveli"), and cannot even freestyle as he admits on number 13 of "The Blueprint" when he talks about "memorizing lines" as an exercise. "Undisputed king" my ass...

Now when I got back to Atlanta that fall of ‘96, Outkast dropped “Atliens”. Now if I were to go up to an East Coast hip-hop critic and say that “Atliens” was a better album than “Reasonable Doubt” they would fall down laughing and then get up and try to fight me. They would say that nobody was listening to "Atliens" and that Jay-Z’s interpretation of street life on that album was beyond competition. I would then slap that critic and remind them that no one was listening to “Reasonable Doubt”!!! Outkast was getting more spins on Southern and Midwestern radio than Jay-Z was getting in his own city. Outkast’s perception of Southern street life with tracks such as “Elevators” (which Funkmaster Flex has noted confusion at why Hot 97 wasn’t playing it), “Two Dope Boyz (In a Cadillac)”, and “Jazzy Belles” related nothing to NY street life so therefore NY critics dismissed it.

The South, West Coast, and Midwest are like one. Since no slave ships went West, most of the black people from the West Coast have grandmothers or great grandmothers that are from the South. The Midwest is the same way. Come on Midwest, my family is from Detroit. You know how country all the old people are up there (try to remember your last family reunion). All this to say that we relate to each other better than any of us can relate to NY culture. NY critics don’t understand our obsession with cars, freaky women, and other Southern customs because they are in another world.

To sum it all up, I’ll go over some key points. 1. To be rated highly by an East Coast hip-hop critic you must be from the East Coast. No ands, ifs, or buts about that. 2. You had to have received a lot of play on NY radio, which is hypocritical seeing how they have and still do refuse to play songs from other regions. 3. According to New York critics, the number of record sales you make and airplay you receive goes into your consideration for “best MC” only if you are from NY (as they have done for their latest savior Jay-Z).

Brother’s from the Midwest, South, and West Coast love a nice Lak. Now New York accepts and loves Twista because he “throws those diamonds up”. Ain’t that some shit? Anyway I would love to hear any underground CD’s from my people in the D, Chi-town, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Cincinatti, etc. E-mail me at Philh826@aol.com!!!

And to my favorite Dirty South!!!! (only cause I grew up here, no bias in my reviews) Stay on top of these charts cause y’all are doin’ it. The movement has been so successful that now in the South, an '84 Caprice goes for the same price as an '02 ES 300 LOL. Be careful though. New York is already about to copy some of the style. I was reading an article about Lil’ Cease of Junior M.A.F.I.A. coming out with a genre called “Riot Music”. He says he wants NY to have a music like crunk. As quick as the East Coast critics dismiss people like Lil’ Scrappy, Cease will become a genius in his new copycat genre. The Diplomats already came out with the song “Crunk Muzick”. Couldn’t believe my ears!!! Anyway don’t worry that NY critics don’t take our hip-hop seriously. They keep saying how we’ll fall off like they tried to do with the West Coast and kind of succeeded in their quest. I’ll tell you why it won’t happen...

First of all, when the West Coast began its decline, it wasn’t necessarily all of NY’s doing like they want to make you believe. The West Coast didn’t diversify enough. The majority of their music was coming off of two record labels. Ruthless and Death Row. When Suge went to prison, Tupac died, and Dr. Dre and Snoop left, half of the West Coast was gone. Ruthless suffered with Eazy-E dying and that is that. We are different. Artists from the South who could never get major label attention anyway, did their own thing on independent labels. That is why the independent label is so ingrained in Southern hip-hop (please check out my link to all the underground cd’s and DVD’s from the Oomp Camp website on my homepage). The most a record label can get out of a Southern rapper is a distribution deal. Southern rappers don’t sell their souls for 60 cents an album like rappers from NY do. The legacy of slavery in the South has blacks down here very wary of working hard to make other people rich. Artists down here will sell out of their trunks (listen to Nas’ “God’s Son” on the first track) for 8 dollars a pop and keep all the money.

MC's in the South make and keep more money on average than MC's in NY at this point. Why do you think the South has taken over 106 and Park? They need to change the name of the show to Peachtree Street, Bourbon Street, or Beale Street because that’s all you see on there now. Southern MC's have more of a budget to make videos because all of their money belongs to them and not a record label. The West Coast also fell off because the South was a big market for West Coast music. As our radio stations started playing more of our own songs, we weren’t listening to as much West Coast anymore and now I miss it. We also won’t fall off because of pure numbers. The majority of blacks in this country live in the South. Next is the Midwest. According to the U.S. census bureau in 2000, out of the 10 states with the largest black populations, only two were not in the South or Midwest. And one of those two states not in the South or Midwest was California.

NIKE PLEASE STOP BITCHING U SOUND LIKE THAT FAGGET WHATEVA WRITIN HO SHIT.

So naturally we will be listening to our own music (i.e., notice how here in the South you never hear an artist from the East Coast unless they are on the same track as one of our artists?). NY critics have attacked our dominance the same as they did the West Coast by saying we are not “lyrically” strong. Please! Andre 3000 is better than any rapper residing in NY including Talib and Mos Def. Yeah I said that shit!!! Debate me on the shit and I’ll win because unlike you NY critics, I actually listen to your music. You don’t listen to ours, you only hear it. I will go toe to toe with you for every NY MC that you feel is “lyrically” strong, I will give you a Southern rapper of equal or stronger stature. As much as I hate Lil’ Flip, I love that track he has with David Banner (another who feels like me about the arrogance of East Coast hip-hop critics) on number 13 from “Underground Legend” talking about how the South helped pioneer hip-hop.

I suggest you East Coast critics start respecting our music because you are about to find out, if you already haven't, that your glory days of ruling the charts are very long behind you. Your region created hip-hop, and the rest of the country thanks you, BUT WE'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE.

AND U KEEP COPYIN AND PASTING SHIT OFF THAT HO ASS WEBSITE STOP BITCHING AND PAY RESPECT DAMN NIGGA.

Mr. Irreverent,
What are you, about 21-25? KRS-One battled Melle Mel and spit, "You know what you need to learn? Old school artist don't always burn...." freestyle from the song , "Still Number 1" off of the "By any Means Necessary" album, won the fictional title of Greatest MC. But Melle Mel refused to give him the belt. KNOW YOUR HISTORY!!! He did NOT battle PM DAWN!!!! Prince B of PM DAWN was talking reckless in a magazine interview and BDP stepped to him and his "crew" threw them off stage and put his records on the turntables and rocked it. $.50 is much like KRS in the fact that they both created beef to get attention, the difference is BDP kept it lyrical. Put it like this: Jazz originated in New Orleans, but it spread, but you don't hear Chick Correa disparaging Earl Hines because what he helped create was so long ago. Hip-Hop was created in the Bronx. It spread, and people added different flavors, but it's essence eminates from the Bronx. Even at thier respective ages, there are NOT many DJ's as technically proficient as Grand Master Flash or Grand Wizard Theodore. These cats STILL perform. I just saw Melle Mel in the booth on rap City Last week and HE MURDERED IT!!! The Rock Steady crew still performs. I think you on some Clarence Thomas shit, you know, affirmative action helped him to get where he was but now the rest of us don't need it. YOU CANNOT FORGET OR DISPARAGE YOUR HISTORY without doing the same to yourself. BTW, I thought you got fired.

HOW MANY TIMES U GON POST THE SAME SHIT IN EVERY BLOG NIKE AKA WHATEVA!!GET OVA YASELF NIGGA!!U KEEP SAYING THE SAME SHIT IN EVERY POST U MAKE!!...(JUST SO PPL KNOW WHEN I A !! THATS JUST HOW A TYPE)

LOL YALL KEEP SAYIN HE GOT FIRED...!NOT WITH THIS PLATINUM BLOG!!

Ohhh I seen that shit on Rap City.Did murder it too.He still got it and I was surprised to see him rapping better than most of these new jacks in the industry.Nike stfu!

H-TOWN

I have read numerous comments you have made on blogs. I think you are pretty funny cause you talk like you a gangsta and i pretty certin you're not. Look if you don't like what i am saying then don't read it and real nigga with common sense would do this. You are very igronant and i would love to meet you face to face one day so i can see if you can back up that shit. Notice how H-TOWN always using words like "faggot" i'd say you aren't comfortable with you own sexuality.

Yes i do copy and paste but i do it off my own website, i don't wanna re-write that shit.

Me and aka Whateva have the same website but with different subjects. You are not as dumb as you sound.

You had to be the first to respond to my blog and it didn't even concern you. Now it takes a real bitch nigga to do that.

Don't worry east coast people my name is H-TOWN and i agree that southern music is wack and i respect you guys. Don't worry H-TOWN is here.

LOL

I NEVA SAID I WAS GANGSTA NEVA TRIED TO ACT GANGSTA IN NO DAMN BLOG!!I THINK ITS PRETTY FUNNY HOW MUCH OF A HATA U ARE IN EVERY BLOG AND HOW THE SHIT U COPY N PASTE ALWAYS COMES OUT EITHER SEMI TRUE OR JUST BIAS SHIT U KEEP REPEATIN THAT ONLY U BELIEVE TO BE TRUE!!YOU THE IGNORANT NIGGA ALWAYS WRITIN HO SHIT AND YES U A FAGGET AND IM COMFORTABLE WITH MY SEXUALLY ENOUGH TO CALL U ONE CUZ U ACTIN LIKE 1!!

You know, if the Democrats would put in the same grass-roots effort that Southern Hip-Hop has over the last fifteen years, they would without a doubt take back the House, Senate, and Presidency. Until that time, Republicans will stay in power just like the Southern Hip-Hop movement is now. If you want that changed, get registered to vote and take action in 2006!!! Unfortunately for those wanting Southern Hip-Hop to disappear, our movement has created a Castro-like dictatorship over the artform and please believe we'll be harder to get rid of.

I DIDNT RESPOND TO ANYTHING ON YO BLOG CUZ I WOULDA SAID H-TOWN STAND UP FUCK U!!!WHATEVA AKA NIKE U THE SAME NIGGA THAT BE TYPIN SHIT UNDA MY NAME LIKE A HO!!GET OVA YOSELF!!

WHAT??!!!I NEVA SAID SOUTHERN MUSIC IS WACK IM FROM THE SOUTH I SAID ATL MUSIC IS WACK!!!

Out of all the comments H-TOWN yours had to be the wackest. Talk like you got common sense then i'll respond.

Me writing comments under your name!!!
Don't make me laugh i have more respect for myself than to make myself seen as a bitch nigga like you.

You trippin!

Slick Rick? He ain't no BX he's GB (Great Britain that is)

YEA SLICK RICK WASNT EVEN A LEGAL CITIZEN IN THE U.S.!!...

I ain't even read nuthin else. I just saw "Papoose sucks" or sumin to that effect. Uh... What? Yo Irrev, what's the B.I fam? Duke is a problem king. Cat actually drops knowledge and doesn't sacrifice his lyrical content while doing so. New York rap in general, is in a dire state of emergency however. (50 Cent doesn't count. Half the time he don't even sound like he's from NY.) But honestly, I don't believe it's the artists' faults. (Well not completely at least.) There's mos def new talent there still. (I'm from Cleveland, not NY) Saigon, Corey Gunz, Stack Bundles, Papoose, J-Hood, Jae Millz. But when muthafuckas choose fuckin D4L and Franchize Boyz over rap artists like Talib Kweli and Little Brother then you have to come to the realization that consumers are responsible for the falling of hip hop moreso than the actual artists. I'm prayin for the day hip hop is restored to it's previous glory and not just classified as "crunk muzik" or "that booty shakin music". What the muthafuck?

I read this blog everyday and I notice how ignorant everyone is when it comes to what another ignorant person has to say. Talent is Talent whether the person is from New York or Down South. Back in the day when I was coming up it was more about consicousness and black power. Every entertainer no matter where they were from got along and made music. Yes New York has fallen off in recent years but we started hip hop no matter what anybody has to say. The underground is the illest in new york right now and alot of those people deserve a chance. But because they are not messing with the right people, they go unnoticed. The South is doing it now on 106 & park and trl, the same way new york had the game on smash back in day. The game has changed simply put.

I AGREE WIT U WATER GATES!!WHEN NIGGAS START SINGIN LAFFY TAFFY SHIT AND NIGGAS IS EVEN DANCIN TO IT AND LOOKIN GAY AS HELL THEN U KNOW THERES A PROBLEM!!

YEA WE ON THE CHARTS RIGHT NOW!!BUT WE NOT ON 106 AND PARK THAT MUCH NOMORE!!I DONT WATCH TRL THO BUT WE DOIN IT ON THE CHARTS I JUST WISH PEOPLE LIKE D4L WOULD STOP COMIN OUT EMBARASSIN US!!THINGS GON CHANGE THO WHEN H-TOWN NIGGAS LIKE Z-RO GET BIG AND GET D4L OUT THE DAMN PICTURE!!

IM MAD Z-RO AINT REAL BIG!!HE BEEN HOT FOR A LONG TIME NOW AND NIGGAS LIKE MIKE JONES PRACTICALLY BLOW BEFORE HIM!!ITS A CONSPIRACY LOL!!

skdamc is the only nigga that seem to remember how this shit started...but left out two important key parts...it wasnt started in South Bronx as said in KRS-ONE track but in the West Bronx with Cool Herc...

As for the Beef shit with KRS and PM Dawn - That shit was bananas - I was at that show...they even threw the bitches dancing in the back ground off the stage.....

H Town ( no groupie) I love the fact that houston is getting its big ups right now. Houston is another place that has been underated. I loved Houston underground music since the first Eightball album, my cousin from georgia put me on to them and ugk. You right d4 is wack and so is dem franchise boyz. I give them until next year and it will be a wrap.

Papoose is not garbage.son got ill shit up his sleeve.hiz shit is piff.jin is on some ill shit too and Posta Boy. People sleep on him cuz he asian and shit the dude got it

look 4 how long UGK been hot and they still ain't blowin out like u'd like 'em to
i call it DESTINY

I like houston shit too.to me they the niggas in the south with the best new southern rap excludin some but Im not includin paul wall and shit.posta got some improvement to me tho and then i'll give him his props but i give him some props cuz hes sick wit it but not betta than papoose.

I feel you duke. He forgot about sedgewick avenue and cedar park, that is where it all began

n yeah, MEKA, Eightball repping Memphis Orahge Mount, not Screwcity

New York did start hip hop but they rapped about their struggles. Take a rapper from new york they wouldn’t know anything about the pain of slavery. I just don’t get it people respect us less but we are in the south where the essence of black America started.

Let’s go over some key points about H-TOWN or whatever that is.

1. Obviously like I recently posted he has an enormous amount of hate for certain people. Im straight and if you are why do you bash people that aren’t you need some real soul searching
2. He can’t be from the south: He shows lack of respect for other regions in the south and any real southern nigga would respect it. Crunk music is something that originated in the south rather it be from the NO,MAIMI,ATL,MEMPHIS, or wherever. Houston is a different part of the south you have you own music chopped and screwed or whatever that is. I would like it but it makes the artist sound slow im more into the artist rapping to slow beats. Thats just me
3.Im currently in the ATL and that chopped and shrewed shit get no play here.

THATS RIGHT!!ITS OK THOUGH I AINT GON BITCH BOUT IT CUZ HOUSTON IS COMIN UP EVEN IF ITS ONLY 1 EXTREMELY HOT NIGGA REPPIN ITS OK CUZ THE CORNY RAPPERS AINT GON LAST LONG!!TRUE UGK BEEN HOT FOR A LONNGGGG TIME AND STILL AINT BLOW UP LIKE THEY SHOULD BUT ITS PROBABLY CUZ THEY DONT WANNA BE TOOO COMMERCIAL THEY MORE LIKE UNDADOGS!!

Nike what are u talking about? New York City was the capitol of slavery for over 2 centuries...

you gay niggaz need to stop mentioning sales, what the fukk does that have to do with lyrics.Niggaz that cant rhyme are the mf's that worry about sales. First you hone your craft then you worry about money. southern niggaz are stupid thats why a lot of southerners cant read. Who the fuck talking bout THE GREAT KRS-ONE . did your bitch asses koow that a couple of years ago when freeway let NELLY state comments about KRS-ONE on his track that KRS stated in an article, that he would destroy the roc. Jay z acted as if he never heard it! Thats how powerful KRS was and still is . Tell your favorite rapper to try and diss KRS ,he'll run his bitch ass right the fuck outta there. IT'S a suicide. And oh yeah southerners should not speak when lyrics are being discussed

IM SO TIRED OF YO ASS WHATEVA AKA NIKE AND YO HO ASS BASHIN HOUSTON CUZ U FROM ATL OR WHERE EVA THE FUCK U FROM!!IF U DONT LIKE IT THEN GOOD FO YO ASS BUT IM SURE ITS PEOPLE THAT DO CUZ SCREWED SHIT IS BLOWIN UP AND ITS FO SHO BETTA THAN CRUNK ANYDAY!!I DONT EVEN WANNA ARGUE WIT YO DUMB ASS IMMA STEP AWAY FROM MY COMPUTA FOR YO SAKE HATA!!

BX ALL DAY NOT ALL SOUTHERNERS CLUELESS WHEN IT COMES TO LYRICS!!I LISTEN TO LYRICS NOT WACK SHIT WIT A CATCHY HOOK AND NO SUBSTANCE!!DONT JUDGE ALL OF US ON SOME FOOS!!

nike man, these niggas cant say a muthafukkin thang cause they know its the truth. so preach my nigga, preach! h townnn, on g.p. nigga ill personally slap the shit out of you if i saw on the street. cause it aint no way you could be from houston and ride new york dick the way you do.

UNLIKE YALL HO'S IM NOT A REGION HATA!!I AINT GON HATE ON NEW YORK JUST CUZ THEY AINT FROM THE SOUTH LIKE YALL AND I AINT A DICK RIDER I JUST RESPECT HIP HOP AND U CANT RESPECT HIP HOP WITHOUT RESPECTIN NEW YORK 1ST!!YALL NIGGAS KILL ME WIT THAT REGION SHIT AND HOW IM A DICK RIDER I JUST GOT A LOVE FOR HIP HOP AND U MUST BE FROM ATL TALKIN THAT SHIT AND ONE OF NIKES BITCHES!!

U GOTTA BE FROM ATL AMP!!U HATE ON NEW YORK AND I BET U HATE ON HOUSTON TOO!!MAN FUCK THE BOTH OF YALL FAGGETS!!

nike, i love you break down. You took it way back and brought it back to today. I wish more of our young quote un quote hip-hop fans would learn more of the history instead of just focusing on who's hot today. I also agree with you about jay-z, i have always said he didnt get big or noticed until biggie died and the nyc needed a new g.o.a.t. I mean i dont know if i can name one song that jayz has that he's not quoting biggie(since his death) And no matter who is on top comercially, every area north south east or west had their own lyricist and sound which gave hip-hop a lot of variety and lots of boxes you could be in. There was a balance that excisted also, yeah we had some corny shit going(whomp there it is) but we also had song that had a degree of social awareness, my skin is my sin- ice cube, brenda got a baby-2 pac, mind playin tricks- geto boys. Some times i dont think there's no point in typing on this blog because theez niggas are sooo ignorant and stuck on what hood your from instead of what you have to say. fuck north south east or west im listening to however aint on that nothing ass shit(cars, cloths jewelry, drugs, hustling ,and hoes). all the shit we rapping about today means nothing in real life. The other day I was watching a news special that showed when ice t put out "cop Killer" the senate and house held SPECIAL HEARINGS ON THE SHIT. today we are talking about killing each other all day everyday and there is nothing said from senator, white people, or even our own people because they making so much nigga money who cares!!! it aint my neighborhood. THATS BECAUSE AS LONG AS THEY HAVE US ON THIS NOTHING WE GOING TO KEEP KILLING EACH OTHER WHICH IN TURN KEEPS THE POLICE WITH A JOB, ALLOWS THE JAIL OWNER TO KEEP SLAVERY GOING "LEGALLY" AND IT PUTS US OUT OF ANY COMPATITION IN THE 'REAL WORLD' BECAUSE WE ON THAT NOTHING ASS SHIT. WE NEED TO WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE.

I AGREE KIBIBI!!!

Forget the Bronx what about the 5th borough Jersey it's time for another come up. The home of Club(house) We done seen every rapper but jersey rapper use the shit in songs.

you got a white boy from texas using clubs beats, you had a fat bitch from va using the club beat, and others. Joe budden tried to do it with fire but he's a cornball Our house msuic should be main stream like every body else region shit. gogo chop and screw crunk what ever our shit is way hotter and should be adapted.

Redman lets us down and didn't other niggas on. Naughty tried but it didn't grow.

We need to get back on top like the early 90's cause it been that long since queen latifia and Naughty by Nature

But to my people on the other side of the river Fat Joe is hot so don't listen to the bx is not hot it's not about sells. nobodys buys cd's anymore but white people PAPOOSE is nice also,

The south hip hop game is weak if you want to get into the industry just move to the south cause it's easy down there. But here up top its a hustle and a struggle just like any other job and thats what the beauty of the north is. SO F everyone else south of Maryland

ARTISTS RAPPIN ABOUT IMPORTANT SHIT DONT "SELL"!!!BUT FUCK SELLIN HOW BOUT INSTEAD OF SELLIN OUT FOR PAPER AND START COMIN TOGETHER BUT 1ST ALL THE WACK RAPPERS HAVE TO GO!!IT SEEMS LIKE THE ONLY POWER WE COULD GET IS THRU MUSIC SO WHY NOT COME TOGETHER TO TRY TO GET CONTROL OVA IT AS BLACK PEOPLE!!!

BRICKHEAD I HEARD CLUB MUSIC,GO GO AND ALL THAT SHIT!!AINT AMERIE SONG A GOGO BEAT?!!YEA I ALREADY ADMITTED THAT THE SOUTHERN HIP HOP GAME IS WEAK RIGHT NOW BUT THATS BECAUSE YALL NOT SEEIN THE REAL NIGGAS!!!THEY TRYNA BRAINWASH PEOPLE TO THINK THAT SOUTHERNERS DONT GOT LYRICS NOWADAYS JUST LIKE THE TRYNA BRAINWASH NIGGAS THAT WE COUNTRY AND THAT NEW YORK HIP HOP IS DEAD!!IT AINT BLACK PEOPLE DOIN THIS THEY WHITE!!!ITS ALL APART OF THEY PLAN WHEN MONEY IS INVOLVED!!SO THAT "FUCK U" SHIT WAS UNCALLED FOR FUCK U TOO NIGGA!!KEEP IT REAL!!

Sorry about that bayan. You know your shit

I haft to admit the south is sometimes biased towards itself. When you think of hip hop in Georgia you only think about Atlanta.
That’s not really fair because artists in south Georgia get no acceptance other than field mob and that’s just because they signed with DTP. Come to south Georgia and these artists have just as much well much more talent than most artists from Atlanta. South Georgia is more of blues, and jazz based rappers not that crunk in Atlanta.

The underground scene here in south Georgia but artists still go un-noticed like:

1.Field mob-plenty of albums nobody has heard from
2.ole-e
3.southside poet
4.big b and g
5.ruthless
6.soul gangsta

U GOT A POINT NIKE!!!SEE ITS ALL TO BRAINWASH PEOPLE THAT THE SOUTH DONT GOT LYRICS NOWADAYS WHEN THAT AINT TRUE!!I BLAME THE INDUSTRY I TAKE BACK WHAT I SAID BEFORE ABOUT ATL CUZ REALLY IT AINT ATL FAULT ITS THE INDUSTRY TRYNA MAKE IT SEEM LIKE D4L IS ALL ATL GOT TO OFFER WHEN THAT AINT TRUE!!

FEILD MOB FROM ALBANY RIGHT?!!I DONT BE HEARIN SHIT FROM ALBANY!!

H-TOWN

Why should I show more respect to a culture that less respects mines and when the south was putting out real shit like outkast and the geto boyz them up east niggaz still didn’t respect it.

New York did start hip hop and i do respect that, but why should i look down on my own region.

H-TOWN

Why should I show more respect to a culture that less respects mines and when the south was putting out real shit like outkast and the geto boyz them up east niggaz still didn’t respect it.

I respect New York to the fact that they started Hip Hop but why should I look down on my own region.

I NEVA SAID SHOW MORE RESPECT TO THEM THAN TO YOUR REGION ALL IM SAYIN IS WHY BE A HATA AND HOLD A GRUDGE ON A WHOLE REGION!!!HOW CAN U BLAME PEOPLE WHEN ALL THEY SAW IN THE LIMELIGHT THAT BLEW UP WAS WACK LIKE MOST OF CASH MONEY,NO LIMIT,ICE AGE AND SHIT!!U GET WHAT IM SAYIN!?!IM TALKIN BOUT WHY BE BIAS IF U DONT LIKE THEM ACTIN THAT WAY WHY WOULD U DO IT TOO?!!!ITS ABOUT COMIN TOGETHER NOT SEPERATIN EACH OTHER!!THATS WHAT IM SAYIN AND RESPECT!!

Im from the BX and its lacking, number one...#2 Papoose is sick,if you think otherwise youlike Laffy Taffy, number 3 alot of these new artist talk a lot of gun game like they cant get it,its repititious..New Yorks body count aint even high like it used to be so we need fresh material to talk about..

Why is it that everytime I mention something important you'll ignore it? I know yall saw what I posted lol. I give up then...

I dont want to hear that but I also see most people rapping about how much "ice" they supposedly have, how many "rides" they supposedly have, how many "cribs" they supposedly bought, how many "hoes" they're supposedly pimping, how much drugs they've sold and a load of other bullshit that are most likely lies.

True hip-hop is not in anymore because as I continue to say, all of the record companies and Radio 1 know that lyrical content does not sell anymore. The East Coast is always on us about what we don’t do, but where y’all at? Ever notice that the De La Soul’s, Talib Qweli’s, Mos Def’s, A Tribe Called Quest’s, and the Pharcyde’s are not around anymore? It’s not that dudes aren’t spitting like that anymore, it’s that the record companies know that they won’t be radio hits for middle-class white America. In fact, I received a mixtape from a dude by the name of Immortal Technique from Up Top with a deep track called “Bin Laden”. That track made a lot of sense, but everyone in NY knows that song will not be on the Casey Casem countdown.

Well the same is down here. Y’all never hear our lyrics because you don’t listen to our underground scene and just make generalizations off of what you see on 106 & Park. Hell, that’s the reason why I don’t get on SOHH.COM anymore because every time I do, I have to sit there and read idiotic comments from these young East Coast kids who wouldn’t know what “Aquemeni” was if Big Boi and Andre were sitting next to them on the E-Train to Queens performing “Da Art of Storytelling

I co-sgn with you H-town.

I NEVA SAID SHOW MORE RESPECT TO THEM THAN TO YOUR REGION ALL IM SAYIN IS WHY BE A HATA AND HOLD A GRUDGE ON A WHOLE REGION!!!HOW CAN U BLAME PEOPLE WHEN ALL THEY SAW IN THE LIMELIGHT THAT BLEW UP WAS WACK LIKE MOST OF CASH MONEY,NO LIMIT,ICE AGE AND SHIT!!U GET WHAT IM SAYIN!?!IM TALKIN BOUT WHY BE BIAS IF U DONT LIKE THEM ACTIN THAT WAY WHY WOULD U DO IT TOO?!!!ITS ABOUT COMIN TOGETHER NOT SEPERATIN EACH OTHER!!THATS WHAT IM SAYIN AND RESPECT!!

certain East Coast artists can hang on a Southern beat or with Southern artists on the flow. I think I was forever traumatized by Jigga’s horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible appearance on the “Ha” remix with Juvenile. It’s like you could tell Jigga just wanted to say throughout his whole verse, “Wait, uh can somebody slow this beat down, I can’t even get my hi-jacked rhymes from Biggie and Tupac together in my head.”

Jadakiss got killed by Eightball on 2001’s “Kiss The Game Goodbye”. Actually Jigga got killed again by Big Boi and Killa Mike on “Poppin’ Tags.” Most East Coast artists royally screw up when they get on a Southern beat because they don’t have the soul to flow on it correctly. But I must admit Nas did well on Lil Jon’s “The Grand Finale”. Raekwon killed on his "Skew It On The Barbee" guest appearance on Outkast’s "Aquemeni". But that was about all I could remember. “The Welcome Home Party” finds Biggie on a track with Slim Thug and TI and on another track with Webbie and Too Short. Biggie actually sounds right. “

Okay F It it's On cause you southern ass niggas ( even my cousins in bama think yall nice).

C my parents roots come deep from the back woods of bama so i know the soutern swang and i did my time in college in NC so i witness your jealousy of the northen nigga in the late 90's eary 00's

You nigga's down south are still like 20 years behind in life, and 15 years behind in the hip hop world

Just look at the way you finally dress, hmmm look like your from new york don't you. Thanks BET for showing them our style and they love it from the ong white t's to jordens to tims.

Gold teeth how old is that flavor flav had gold teeth in 1988

You suck lyrically for real..

you niggas are so jealous. my pops made it from bama to ny, don't be mad cause your moms and dads and grandparenst couldn't make it east or west.

This is still the home f hip hop. and it's why it has even branch out. because of the different ethnic groups

Where could you go to a club and be dancing with purto rican/ blacks/ whites/ asian/ domnicans/ arabs/ africnas/ jamicans/ hasian/ mix everything/ this is the melting pot and it's what hip hop has brought 2gather

You negros down south don't even know what that would look like. it's just black white and mexiacans down there, you don't even know what the rest of the world look like.

Also the dreads wow dam thats old. So all yall do is bite for real real. You niggas would never make it up north because its a struggle

it;s to easy for a fighter to move down south. and now the south is just full of weak ass people from the north who couldn;t make it up top. full of crack heads and welfare ass niggas who know it would be easy to just move down south to atl

And nigga Don't never mention JZ like he wasn't ontop of shit for the past # of years

Jigga had shit on lock, and your favorite rapper in ATL or where ever tell you that cause they sure want to suck his dick like every one of yall want to suck our dick.

Wayne on his dick
Ti on his dick
jezzy on his dick
yall on my dick

So stop. The Twin buildings might have been knock down, but we have many more standing taller yours and the central place of America who the fuck care about Missi, ATl, I got respect for taxas but let that oil keep moving under ground to bama and then you will see another rich northern nigga

because my fam who made it up north made enough money to buy the land not the broke fam in the south cause yall paper is not long enough.

So go work your walmart jobs, and look at strippers, all night, cause thats the ony place yor good looking bitches are,

All we got to do is walk down 34th street or any street and we see quuilty chicks.

Wanna name a rapper down south better than GAY-Z well scarface and anybody would tell you that

Jigga

Ok 85% of his rhymes is biggies

I remember when I was up north those buildings so stuck together I couldn’t even stretch my arms out

Fuck tha east coast

NY IN PARTICULAR

Mariah carey is from Long Island and shes not on your list. Yes its all kind of collaborations right now from west coast/east coast collaborations, north/south collaborations, to south/west coast collaborations. Also midwest and gulf coast collaborations too.

You can hate the east coast all you want. If that helps you go to sleep at night then thats fine with me especially when some southern states are on the east coast. Hmmm.

Ya'll just need to go and check
www.myspace.com/merge05 if you want to know who the hottest unsigned mc is in NYC period!!!! I heard diddy was throwing crazy jewels and bitches at dude in atlanta trying to get him at bad boy cause he foud out that jay-z was gunning for him...this dude crazy tight when it come sto spittin.

East Coast folk are always talking about how the South is lyricless and that all we produce is crunk music (they intentionally forget MC's such as Andre 3000, Eightball, Bun B, Killa Mike, Scarface, Project Pat, and TI when they say that…). Correction you tunnel-visioned idiots, Southern MC’s stay spitting metaphorical versus about Southern life, but you damn sure won’t hear it on the radio.

^ And you wont hear our shit on the radio either and you dont check for ours either so whats your point?

And whats a tunnel-visioned idiot? First time Ive heard that one..hmmm. You dont know as much as you think you do.

I've heard of merge before, but Ive only heard one song.

The natural biased of the east coast leads them to think we don't hustle!

See, Southern MC's have a business sense that NY MC's will have to take a minute to develop; simply because NY MC's were never in a position to have to figure out how to sell records on their own. When record-labels figured that the South was not sellable, Southern artists started pushing records on their own. Why do you think Southern MC’s have such comradery? They always had to drive to each other’s cities to push music out the trunk of their car.

^ How do you think rap started going to other states other than NY and other countries besides jacking? Pushing the music once they found out they could make money off of it. You still dont know as much as you think you do sweetheart.

i agree with Nike to an extent. Alot of ny artist back in the day didn't have the knowledge to push cds out of the trunk. They were to busy getting played by money hungry industry people check a tribe called quest for that one. The first time i heard about southern artist pushing cds out of their trunk was with Master P's first album, i think it was the Ice Cream Man, then came cash money and others. Like I am not going to say that ny rappers didn't do it, but if you ever look at any interview from artist back then, they will say that they were not on top of their business game and wish that they had the money that 50 has or Jay z has, I don't know all the details but this is some of it.

Even before it got world-wide and before major record deals were feeling the hip hop movement they were making money off of it also at all types of events not CDs they were no CDs back then and it was a culture that they werent trying to make world-wide. It was just a culture thats it....it was a struggle and they had to hustle to even get the rap element noticed on that level even at new york radio stations. Who cut the 1st 1 million dollar deal when all the deals were shitty? Who turned radio from being bias when it came to rap music on radio and tv? Who even cut the 1st rap record deal in general? And rap music wasnt supposed to be a world-wide thing so why would they push CDs out of the truck to other cities? It was Bronx culture...they didnt even know it was going to get this big...but I see what you're trying to say. It just isnt fully correct.

Like I see so much in this blog, I like real hiphop. Music that is talking about something and means something and can help young black men go out and get a job and it really doesn't matter where because I love new york to death.

Now if you wanna talk about the presence of the 21st century then it still isnt fully correct. There are rappers here that are exposing themselves north and some south but mainly north in their own hoods and overseas. Overseas they actually BUY records so the more people that feel you over there, the more money. Then they expose themselves in the US from the net, to mixtapes...wait who even started mixtapes? It was all a stepping stones for all of these rappers today including 50 cents dumb ass.

Tyana, you rule girl

Me too. I love hip hop no matter where it comes from if its real hip hop. I never even realized how people were so biased still. I hate when people try to discredit certain things and justify certain things, but hey thats how it is. All I know is rap is in a state of emergency.

THE
IRREVERENT
AWARDS 2006
COMING SOON
01-10-2006

Please take this blog outta here

You too girl lol.

Nike is right ny dont wanna hear the truth.ny is a theif and decievers.Because of their media. How in the hell ny created hip hop.If the foundation is rap. When rap is a element of JAZZ.Then that mean the South is the ORIGINATOR of hip hop.The MidWest,South and West do connect. And we aint ashame of our "cotton pickin"ansectors.I dont care how good the next "big thing"from ny be.Because of their lack of repect for other regions.Nobody aint gonna buy they shit. Its something like not bein scared of the bully no more. When u beat the bully.Whatever he say dont mean shyt no more.

Da Chi u just simply sound intimidated especially when you say "beat the bully". 1st there were slaves in New York City also. 2nd a lot of them came straight off of the boat to new york and it was the slave capitol for over 2 centuries. 3rd Music comes from Africa so its all music. 4th Hip Hop is not just rap. In jazz did they break dance, make art out of grafitti, scratch records, ect? No they didnt and you simply sound like a hater. Youre saying we hate, but you're the person I see in here hating because you feel we're "bullies"....not true.

And where did poetry come from? Africa. No the foundation was not RAP. Rapping came from the hype men that were the DJays partners. The DJaying was the foundation.

Word, South niggas steady grindin they Cds, Back in 99, Lil Keke and Lil Flip and Screw were pushin 100,000 independently before a major deal. Same wit Slim Thug, I mean ain't no doubt that the south is runnin shit right now. We make the club hits and the party music and that tech 9 in the lab roll on someone music. South is just more diverse than everything right now. If someone doesn't like the lyrics, they probably going to like the beat cause its going to make you move. But everything has it ups and downs. I don't know who's going to save NY, but I'm sure they be on the industry map soon enough. And my favorite dude out from the east is Jae Hood. Ain't no one fuckin wit that dude including kiss and ghost. Where Jae from anyway?

High Life Jae Hood is alright, but he's not better than Jada...well not to me at least.

I SEE A LOT OF Y'ALL NIGGAZ DON'T SHIT ABOUT NY RAPPERS. LET'S GET IT STR8 MY NIGGAZ...BDP WAS BATTLING THE WHOLE ENTIRE JUICE CREW. THE JUICE CREW INCLUDED: SHAN, KANE, G.RAP, MASTA ACE, SHANTE, BIZ, CRAIG.G,. THIS IS WHEN KISS FM WAS BATTLING WBLS. THE KISS FM DJ'S AT THAT TIME WERE: RED ALERT & CHUCK CHILLOUT. BLS DJ'S WERE MAGIC & MARLEY MARL. THE WHOLE BEEF CAME ABOUT WHEN BDP WAS TRYIN TO PART OF THE JUICE CREW, AND MR. MAGIC DISSED EM. THAT SPARKED THE WHOLE BRIDGE IS OVER CONCEPT. F.Y.I: KRS-ONE DID BATTLED MELLE MEL BACK IN THE DAYS.

EVEYBODY IS TALKING ABOUT THE BRONX, BUT I DIDN'T HEAR SHIT ABOUT JUST ICE, AND ULTRA MAGNETIC MC'S. TIM DOG HAD ONE HIT, BUT THAT SHOOK UP THE WEST A LIL BIT, BUT DRE AND SNOOP GOT IN THAT ASS LATER ON. DO ANY BODY REMEMBER WHEN SNOOP WANTED TO BATTLE THE EAST COAST? BOGIE DOWN PROD. WAS NICE AS HELL. IMAGINE IF SCOTT LA ROCK WAS ALIVE RIGHT NOW. SHIT WOULD'VE BEEN UGLY. GET YA FACTS RIGHT NIGGAZ. THE BRONX STARTED THIS SHIT. RESPECT YA ELDERS BITCHEZ!!!!! I DARE FOR ANYONE TO SAY KRS DIDN'T HAVE THE GAME ON SMASH AT ONE POINT. THE BRIDGE IS OVER!!! SOUTH BRONX. POETRY. JIMMY. MY PHILOSOHPY. 9MM GOES BANG. SUPER HOE. WHY IS THAT. JACK OF SPADES. STEP INTO MY WORLD. MAD IZM. AH YEAH. RAPPERZ R IN DANJA. BLACK COP. DUCK DOWN. WE IN THERE. STILL NUMBER 1. HOUSE NIGGA. SELF DESTRUCTION. I CAN ON FOR DAYS KID. EVEN D-NICE HAD A COUPLE OF SONGS THAT WAS HOT. MC'S ACT LIKE THEY DON'T KNOW. HEAL YA SELF! OUTTA HERE!

Not "initimidated"what I was sayin ny rappers and media. Was talkin bad about every region.Regardless how good they was.And when different regions found out they can.Get their music played and sales without ny.Now every region lost respect for ny.Do yall REMEMBER when ny.Used to look at every region as "record sales".Now its being done to yall.

now you know you got chumps on internet standby eager to hate on NYC, guess you figured you'd sturr the pot huh? Your probably a white guy, with some hip hop schooling thinking you have the RIGHT to start poppin off cause your apart of a website nowadays doing your daily internet 'hate' thing. If your not a white herb on a laptop, and you look like me you oughta be ashmed of yourself cause nobody has ever heard of you in a more valid circuit and your hiding basically....

Its funny how people get mad because the Bronx started Hip Hop and proudly say it we get looked at as arrogrant but we dont get mad or claim people to be arrogant when ppl say "Blues/Jazz was created over here in the south or where ever". We dont discredit people for making reggae, for making blues and Jazz, and other music, but people hate on us so bad and cant stand to see us create something that they cant even sleep at night...its a sad thing.

Da Chi record sales didnt matter much then at all. Ok let me use an example. What type of music do u guys have in Chicago? House Music or something right? Well suppose Cali or NY started making house music...thats Chicagos cultural music so wouldnt Chicago be proud of that? Thats not arrogant or looking down on people. Maybe we just come off the wrong kind of way. I just know that I'm not like that...thats all I can count it for.

Yes record sales matter today and thats why a lot of places including Chicago arent selling. Theres this guy named Lupe fiasco that I heard on a track with St. Laz and he's nice, but record sales it what count right? Album sales are going down in general. Theres certain people who are going platinum but most of them take a while to get there but at least they get there. And you said "now its being done to yall", but its being done to Chicago also...

I already knew that ny.Had salves(wall street and such)But many of yall say "cotton pickers".And rap did have to be the foundation of hip hop.Because without the hype man usin words(jazz lyrical flow) to help move the crowds. Then hip hop wasnt nothin but a PARTY.So without u noticin u argree.ny didnt create hip hop.If u say poems come from Africa(I do agree)Chicago establish garfitti as a gang artform back as the 50's and 60's(do the research)So wit ny putin this all in one label(hip hop)wit a major marketin media.People has been DECIEVED.That ny is the originators.

Grafitti and art are not the same thing. Yall were "taggin" which is scribbling shit trying to be gangster when gangs originated from the immigrants of NY and spread to the rest of the U.S. Also once again RAP isnt the foundation. If it wasnt for Kool Herc (a DJay) Hip Hop probably wouldnt have been created and NY is the most versatile place in the US. We've all been influenced by all types of different races and cultures. Raggae is West Indian culture but then again its still from Africa. When Kool Herc was a DJay he didnt have a hype man at first. He just played records straight through...he didnt even talk Da Chi.

I mean just think about the support the South was giving the East and West coasts circa 1995-2001, give or take a few years. Now that the South and Midwest (which is where damn near 4 out of 5 black folk in this country live if you check your latest census data) have our own thing going on, the odds of either coast (especially the East Coast) ever dominating hip-hop again are quite low without our support.

Nike most of the support in sales come from the north. Do some research and you will see who is supporting Young Jeezy ect more the north or south...please do it. You'll are always saying how we're this way and we dont do this. Just do that research and find out for yourself who is supporting Southern Hip Hop the most in the US and see for yourself. We dont need your support...we need our own support because we're supporting everyone else as well as White people.

I see whatchu sayin. But Chicago gives props to where its due.Because when many blues and jazzmen.Came here from the SOUTH they use new insturments. To speed up their sound. So it became called the"Chicago blues and jazz"(but still we give props to the South as the ORINGNATORS of the elements)and wit gospel sped up sound and Chicago r&b musicans mixed into one it became known as the CHICAGO HOUSE.But since the 80's the House here.Is about a hard fast beat.Foot Workin and Jukin dances. To a song somethin like (Juke a later)somethin like the old Perk u Later. But what I am sayin give props where its due.

Its also funny how when we dont give props you'll say we dont, but when we clearly support you'll, you'll STILL say we dont.

Da Chi I understand where you're coming from, but New York NEVER discredits anybody. You'll are the ones always discrediting us for whatever reason. Ask someone from here thats knows where Blues, Jazz, ect comes from and they will not discredit that. In fact they'll probably defend it if someone says otherwise.

Girl Tyana:
First MC signed to a major Label: Kurtis Blow/Mercury
First Million Dollar deal in Hip-Hop: Eric B. and Rakim
First sample on a record: Kurtis Blow/sampled Trouble Funk (D.C.) For "Party Time"
You pricks need to realize we're all in this together and I doubt anyone in this blog has recieved his/her South/East/West/Midwest Hip Hop Defender Award in the mail as of yet. There are fundamental differences in our regions so some shit that appeals uptop won't fly down south. Like we talk fast and slick up top, down south cats talk slow and greasy,. It does not have any bearing on that particular person's intelligence(Laffy Taffy excluded) For instance why would a Down South Cat wear some hot assed Tims with that Climate? And with the Winters up North, why would we "Candy Paint" our vehicles when it snows and shit, then the street crews salt the roads which would erode the paint jobs on our cars? That's the same reason the East doesn't have hydraulics, the roads are tore up because of the weather. I really don't get grillz no matter where you from so maybe someone could enlighten me. Y'all cat are sohh provincial that it's funny. Besides this blog was supposed to be about serving Mr. Irreverent for his dumb ass comments about Hip Hop and the Bronx. I thought he got fired. Stay focused.

Hell it’s people like Project Pat why people in the South never take East Coast Versace “hardcore” MC’s seriously. I mean AZ, Nas, Biggie, and Raekwon… Yeah okay. But Jigga, Jim Jones, Camron, Juelz Santana? No… Pat’s career has unfortunately been hampered by the actions that he speaks of in his rhymes because those actions always get him locked up. He’s not a “studio gangsta” like those four aforementioned corny East Coast MC’s, he tells the hardships of Memphis life and the things that a lot of young black men that live there have to do to survive. Hopefully one day I can get up there and help some of those brothas…

Yeah gangs ORIGINATED in ny.But Chicago gangs was ORGANIZE to fight the white gangs. When their wasnt no more white gangs to fight. They started back fightin wit each other.Over many different reasons. They began usin garfitti to mark terriotry. This begun back in the 50's and 60's.

Skdamc you werent supposed to answer my questions lol. Anyways you're also right. Lol @ getting on mr. Irreverent...forgot about that.

Yes I know that Da Chi and you're right. (ignores Nike).

Most people outside of the South and Midwest have no idea what I’m talking about because Pat was slept on back in a time when most record-label marketing strategists felt that people outside of New York actually enjoyed albums such as “Vol 3: Life and Times of Shawn Carter” (Shiiiiit). The South was already doing it’s thing with the independent label scene for that exact reason. So although Pat’s first album only sold about 450,000 copies, it still brought in a lot of money because virtually all of it went back to his brother’s (Juicy J) Hypnotize Minds record label and in the process became the South’s “Reasonable Doubt” (and y’all already know which album I’m taking to a deserted island; in case you don’t, “Presidential” damn sure ain't on the track list).

That new Black Eyed Peas song is tight featuring Q-tip, Cee-lo, Talib, John Legend, and I forgot who else damn...but thats some good hip hop, but I guess people would rather hear about the jewels these rappers dont even own.

Nike you're right because the only song I remember by Project Pat was "Chicken Head"...and I hated it. Maybe his other songs were better but that one I hated. It was catchy though and funny.

Girl Tyana.I read a million magizines seen about a million award shows that is based in NY.Where they all gave bad ratings to every region or didnt give any awards to nobody else but to only Ny.But only now because the other three regions can sale amongst each other. So now they want credit for bring it to the mainstream.

What?

Nike:
Like mufa WANNA go to jail and rap about it. Yo do realize how that sounds, right? Studio gangstas is one of the most overused terms in entertainment. Either you a rapper or you a thug. THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN!!! MOST of these entertainers relay stories, regardless of if it's Project Pat or Jay-Z. Truth be told it's not about "The realness" but how "authentic" the story sounds and word play. So kill it. How many of these "real" rappers are gonna come out and tell how they wee raped on the bing? Or how they cried themselves to sleep at night? That just may be to real for the groupies out there.

Real facts :
http://www.causticdames.com/jazzhiphop/hiphop-origin.htm
The roots of hip hop are in West African and African-American music. The griots of West Africa are a group of traveling singers and poets, whose musical style is reminiscent of hip hop. True hip hop arose during the 1970s when block parties became common in New York City, especially the Bronx. Block parties were usually accompanied by music, especially funk and soul music. The early DJs at block parties began isolating the percussion breaks to hit songs, realizing that these were the most dance-able and entertaining parts; this technique was then common in Jamaica (see dub music) and had spread via the substantial Jamaican immigrant community in New York City, especially the godfather of hip hop, DJ Kool Herc. Dub had arose in Jamaica due to the influence of American sailors and radio stations playing R&B.

A Nike if u wanna here some or learn about some Chicago underground my guys gotta website w.w.w.TRIPLE DARKNESS.com.They from this group called Drama Ward.U probally heard of Pysco Drama. They always makin hits in the midwest without any air play. But the one song Im quite sure everybody heard of is a super classic '93 and 94.This song is called MAGIC.50 STOLE THAT SONG.It goes somethin like this in a verse (this dick is like/m.a.g.i.c/I see u lookin at me)And Newsense she the Queen of Chicago rap and she come like(put my pimpin skills/on a scale 1 thru 10/11 be my average...whaat...because this p-ssy magic/

lol @ studio gangsters.

Dreno who doesnt know that already? Everybody knows this already...(well most).

If you hate papoose go download "alphabetical slaughter" or "hustle hard" feat. a very good hook by 50. Yes new pap is kinda lackin but he did so much in the past that he makes up for it to me.

And while you guys are on who started who, why do you'll always claim jazz/blues but dont claim rock & roll? Since you'll know so much you'd know who started Rock & roll and you'd also include rock & roll along with blues, jazz ect.

I meant to say "who started what" lol.

I know the haters will come out and talk shit or acuse me of being a G-Unit groupie even though I think their albums are ok but love their mixtapes...

In about another year or two their won't be westcoast hiphop, southern hiphop, or NY hiphop. The man said it himself that people see him as being part of hiphop but 50 cent wants to BE hiphop and it seems like this is happening.

From rumors I hear G-Unit records has about 15-20 signed artist ALL who will be coming out this year and it covers all areas. They are signing well known rappers and up and comers who killed the mixtape game in their regions like their buying up stock in Microsoft.

G-Unit West(G-Unit Crips) has Spider(who is somewhat hot at times), Jayo Felony(with G-Unit marketing he will go platinum) and a bunch of others in the West I can't remember off the top of my head. Nobody in the west is out right now and Game fell off plus lost his respect so expect them to dominate the west coast.

People will hate this statement but as the author said the East doesn't really have anybody either except G-Unit and they are expanding here by signing all the new artist and established ones such as Mobb Deep and that guy from Philly. Expect them to tighten the grip on the East. If D-block couldn't put a dent in them nothing will.

As far as the south, by "merging" with Lil Jon and BME plus haanding Buck control of G-Unit south(Cashville records) the south can be expected to be theirs as well. That dude De Tay is as nice as Buck, we all know Bucks going to sell, BG is going to sell spitting on G-Unit beats and going at Cash Money, wouldn't be surprised if Mannie Fresh came over because of BG and Buck, Lil Scrappy is killing it and I hear Buck has been signing a lot of artist as well.

Long story short this argument about what region is the best will no longer matter in a year or 2. It will be who is selling that isn't part of G-Unit and it looks like that's slim pickings.

The only rappers out that will sell is DipSet(gold only), Jay Z, TI, Ludacris, Kanye, Bow Wow(can't hate) and the buck stops there. The problem for the haters is that G-Unit won't decline like Death Row, Bad Boy or even Def Jam did as a whole.

G-Unit records will soon be making enough money to become a major label such as Interscope itself. They will probably distribute on their own unlike Bad Boy so they will make more money on each cd. Death Row only had 2 artist that was really selling but G-Unit artist will always sell. There is no label strong enough to compete like Death Row had Bad Boy so I really don't see it happening.

Eventually they will lose their buzz and won't sell as much as they have been but by then the "foothold" will be established.

Girl Tyana
Basing on what i see here.some people didn't know it

Come on Girl. How u gonna say what?I remember when I was a shorty. When the West was doin it the South was on the come up.And won nothin on mtv or the source awards 2 mics and shyt.I remember readin a magiazine. That had Ice Cube and he said he lost respect for the East. When he was in a NY club. And the Djs knew he was their and they didnt play nobody from the West not even his.The only person he heard from the West. Was YoYo on a remix of Brandy's song.

this blog gotta go! Mr Irreverent fucked up... but yall making it worse. I hate to say it but Id take a 50 blog anyday compare to these negroes arguing over what 'MR. FUCKING IRREVERENT SAID???????????????'

What da fuck is wrong with yall... if tomorrow he decides to write a blog on how Michael Jordan was better at baseball than basketball, yall probably give him another multi-platinum blog!!!!

"A WISE MAN TOLD ME DON'T ARGUE WITH FOOLS/ CAUSE PEOPLE FROM A DISTANCE CAN'T TELL WHO IS WHO"- by a New Yorker(yall might know him)

Nike why do you hate new york so much, it seems to me like you have a real problem with new york. Everyone thinks that we have been unaccepting of the Southern hip hop movement when we have. Maybe not recently but we have. yeah we are not focused because the clown that started this blog knew that this was going to have everyone at each others throats. Does anybody know where Little Brother is from.

Real Talk...I cringe at the thought og G-unit, but you've got a point. I'd have to see that happen to believe it. Really in a couple of years rap wont matter because whats selling the most is R&B and rock. White people arent going to buy rap records anymore and we'll be forced to buy albums instead of bootlegs...which most people wont do.

Ok @ dreno

Da Chi...what is your point and how long ago was that? Im pretty sure The West feels arrogant when it comes to "gang banging" and thinks any place including Chicago is biting off of them. Im pretty sure they say people making "gangster" records are trying to be like them and Im pretty sure they reject it too.

Hey Real talk that was VERY informative but, out of curiosity, wtf does that have to do with this blog?

HELLO, IM A SENSITIVE NIGGA, WHO IS LUCKING FOR HIS SPECIAL SOMEONE... IF THA BRONX ISNT WHERE THA MENS ARE... DIRECT ME 2 WHERE THAY ARSE... MUST BE HUNG LIKE SHAQ, BUT RUFF, RUFF, RUFF LIKE 50. ONLY SERIOUS MENS NEED REPLY. KISSES.

P.S. DRANKS R ON ME!

Mastamind, no ones really arguing in here. Just having a conversation, but uh yeah "fuck this bias ass blog". Okay I got that out.

yo 50 stop posting as RealTalk

The saddest thing about the internet and Hip-Hop is that we now have "instant" experts. I may sound like a hatin' ass old head but I WAS THERE for alot of the happenings in this culture that we call Hip-Hop. We can parrot all the info we want but it's like the difference between knowledge and wisdom. Until you've seen Jazzy Jeff cut live or witness KRS-One come off the dome and DESTROY a cat you really don't understand. It's like the diffrence between a black and white TV and HDTV. In the words of Bussa Bus: "Oh MY GOD!!!!"

Real talk.
Alright you know a G unit rider but am i the only one that thinks what you said was not right?
You weren't even ashamed to say 1 to 2 years everyone will be in G-unit.

** One people (the aundiece)whether white ,yellow, black, blue,or brown hate listening to the same sound for a long period of time
**Two people are always looking out for something different and original, why do you think d4l and dem franchise boys are major hits?because they are different from the ordinalry rappers we were used to.
**Old guns will always remain old guns.mase ,mopp deep whatever will never make that huge.
People gave them a chance to say what they wanted to say 10 years back, what more do they wana tell us that we haven't heard from all the dilluted hip hop passing around?
hoes?chains?paper stacks?serving time? (donot forget cassidy and mystical, lil kim and the rest.

50 cent is a brand that sells G-unit .I donot know why many people tend to forget that.As soon as 50 cent falls (which is not that far) the brand Gunit will be down.
No one will care whoelse was in the unit.

Remember the brand sells the product.
50 cent is the brand and Gunit is the product.will the Brand fall ?yes even burger kind fell and changed its brands ,THE WHOPPER JUNIOR AND STUFF

GirlTyana

It aint good to be in front of a computer all day

Mr. irreverent:
Good job on this blog. you managed to create intense, serious and reletively intelligent dialog about our culture. thank you. Damn, I heard you got fired though......

Wheres a blog about how rap is about is about to fade away and R&B and rock is gonna take its place where it was before hip hop?

Im not in front of a computer...

I didnt here anybody or WestCoast rapper say Chicago is bittin they style.Gangsta rap did start West. But Chicago rap is a mixture of Chicago life.Gang bangin(and everything that come with it),politcal and kickin it.Ask anybody from been or heard about Chicago. They will tell u this how we get down!

yo Mr.Irr.... I told Papoose what u said and he said

"I thought he got fired"

I thought this nigga got fired too!

Okay Da Chi.

Gangst a rap did NOT start out West. Schoolly D (West Philly/Parkside!!!) is the father of Gangsta rap. The West Coast took it, perfected it and ran with it but even Ice Tee is from New Jersey. The West Coast is KNOWN for Gangsta rap (I hate labels) but not the originators.

guess who won mr. apple bottoms this weekend?!?

MEEEEEEEEEE

caff
eeewwww
Dude thats gross

Ps :-do you preffer head with a condom or just plain?

Alot of you need to chill on him because he is sorta right, but I think its more then just NY that's whack right now. I think the whole game is kinda fucked with only a few decent rappers here and there. I personally don't feel east coast rap anymore because it don't appeal to me that much. I never was a Jay fan and the only rapper I really fuck with from there now is my nigga Nas. He never ceases to impress. Copped the Street's Deciple the weekend it came out, and loved it. Other then that NY rappers bitch too much. They hate on every region that comes up. When the west was poppin: they shitted on us. When the South started poppin:they shitted on them... and they still doing it! They are the most notorious haters of all when it comes to the hip-hop industry. And while alot of those emcees from the 80's were nice in the day, they aint really shit now. I doubt many of them can hang with the young cats of today. Except for Rakim, he sick with it. And I never heard Papoose, just heard of em. So I can't comment on him.

i know joe is from jersey shit i was gonna put redman up there too.i still got love for them its still up north.
the south has two count them two legends.scarface and outkast.hold on to them.like i always tell yall southern niggas step them lyrics up.but as always yall support niggas just because there from the south.
yall talk all that shit but sounds like a bunch of shook niggas to me.look at what nike said in his own words you can tell he was intimidated by our projects. of course he would be.its a jungle here.so much competition.you never know when a nigga will bring it to you.we move down south because its slower down there and we finally stacked some money to get out the urban jungle.yall niggas cant survive up here.shook as hell.its to many different races, gangs the mafia the russian mob the gangs in chinatown.this is where the culture came from.i laugh at niggas on here who talk shit about mecca and come here walking with there tail between there legs.pussy ass niggas i can smell them through the computer.

What kills me is how people who stand up for NY say that its not all about video and radio, because mcs there are doing their thing underground. But when they criticize the South, the first thing they bring up is shit about 106&trl. Like the South don't have an underground with niggas waiting to come out? Yeah we like when women shake the laffy taffy in the club, but I think everybody on here is misguided if you think we ride around bumping club shit. I wish yall could come down here and see how our niggas grind. Yall cant say shit, kuz even yall underground is exposed, SMACK DVD and shit like that. We don't even have that shit down here. The south ain't all what you see on tv.

Yo MR.ikOnz, no disrespect, I feel where you comin' from, just one correction: Just-Ice is from Brooklyn.

Let's keep it right and exact for the young bucks who may not know better.

I made a simliar mistake with the Jungle Brothers, but I shoulda known better because Africa is from my old hood around Nostrand Ave, ain't never seen him there, but...

Schematics i feel you 100% about the southern underground.the only problem is a lot of southerners dont speak on the south underground.they dont even big up little brother and the minstrel show was one of the best albums of 05.

Brian williams : We can get into it anyway you like sailor, personally I'd prefer to give you a solid dickin in the ass and then have you suck on my chocolate coated love truncheon.

caff
yummmyy

oh yeah only niggas on the internet talk south vs east shit.
if the rappers started that shit yall southern rappers will get crushed.so pray that shit doesnt happen.
and son paul wall is garbage.

Yeah I've been sipping on love juice now for like, well, since my daddy introduced me to it back in the Summer of '69. Sorry about the size my ding-a-ling I know its not all that big but you know they say - the best things come in small packages - holla! Oh yeah I'm up for a 3some with ole brailey, does he still have all his own teeth? Anyways I'll call up my Daddy and we can make this a 4way, is that cool Mr Brian williams?

OOOOHH! everybody is here now. I just left a comment on the other Blog for overrated and underrated. Boy, ya move fast. Anyway, WUDUP ENGLANDREPRESENT, what good playboy? SCHEMATIC whats poppin? I left a comment like I said on the other Blog under/overated.

I see we on this now about hip hop starting in the Bronx. We'll it did so what are we arguing?

Niggaz fail to understand that NYC is like Michaelangelo and Hip Hop is New Yorks' Sistine chapel.
Any other attempt to counterfeit the original will always be fake!.
We are not hating, we are merely stating that fact.
It is like the Devil trying to recreate Gods' masterpiece of life and eternal wisdom.
Real New York Niggaz woudn't be caught dead with southern rappers and that isn't even a diss,it's just a sense of pride that only a true New York thoroughbred feels.
I commend the south on their rap success and i extend my condolences now when their 15 minutes of fame are up!.

Word Is Born.

Peace To The Mighty Zulu Nation and To The Whole Rock Steady Crew!!!....

I GOTS 3 INCHES YES, BUT I SWEAR THA OTHER END IS AT LEEST 6 DEEP.

DICK IS DICK (CANT BE NO CHOOSER)... SO PLZ SEND EMAIL... I PREFERS BEING THE CATCHER, SO ALL YALL BATTERS, HOLLA.

P.S. AND OH, FUCKS CHRIS BROWN... I MEANS I WOULD FUCKS CHRIS BROWN... MAKE ME SAY YOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Okay they gotta picture together and then u get all excited and shit wow..yeah papoose gotta song with lame ass paul wall but Paul actually stepped up his game on that track.U know he had to.And whats the big deal u writing in caps and shit like its a big deal.

Stop with that homo shit. U need 2 get a life insane, rainbow flag rubbin loser.

Caff
Dude thats so awesome ,well Ole brailey doesnot have any teenth now which is preety good because they say people with no teeth donot eat meat, they just suck meat.Sounds good to me.
Hmm looks like we going to be having plenty of meat passing around that have decided to make a schedule for us during our revondorous session

PS-Is schematics going to join us?

THAT WUZ NOT ME! EVERYONE WHO KNOWS ME KNOWS U DONT STAND BETWEEN ME AND THA COCK. SO STOP HATIN AND GET URSELF A MAN, LIKE ME. KISSES.

P.S. BRIAN WILLIAMS, I WOULD TELL U MORE, BUT I'M SHY AND THA LAST GUY I TRUSTED PROMISED NOT 2 TURN ME GAY.

stopusingthewordnigga how you livin homie? Ayo wot up FIGGZ whats good my nigga? SCHEMATICS : I just got that cough syrup nigga, just rang in sick for work, all I got to do is get me a Sprite!! Man I can't speak on all this NY - South hate cos I ain't from your country but I can speak on it in terms of rap and if Paul Wall did a track with Papoose then he would definitely have needed to step his game up cos Pap would embarass Paul Wall lyrically.

But you know what Mr Brian williams although I'm a lil bit sceptical of other niggas I like your schedule sweetcheeks. Does Ole Brailey still have all his hair? I don't mind no teeth, that I can live with cos I won't be seein no teeth cos my dick will be in his mouth but the hair thing may bother me. Also my Daddy does'nt take it in the ass he just gives it so that might be a problem. He says he has a problem with it cos of a previous experience with an Hispanic dude called Manuel, a small heavily greased beaver and a length of elastic, since then he won't let anyone do him in the ass, sorry. I don't know if schematics is joinin us, I heard his winky is under the 3 inch limit.

@ England Represent. You lucky you have that drank my nig. Its dry ass fuck right now in Dallas. Mix that lean wit some of that dro cause I know ya'll got that fire. And theres way too much homo talk on these blogs, give it up. I'm just bored ass a mother fucker!!!

EnglandRepresent see folks is knowin about the syrup man!!!! But as with any collabo, usually it brings up the best out of both artists. It's damn near impossible to floss on some papoose shit. So maybe, but for real me being a fan of Swishahouse, I was really let down on the collab with kanye. Real shit.

bxconnect, I was just clownin man. Yall too damn ready to shit talk. Honestly, trying to say ny would bring it to anybody, well......lets just say that you may think ny would win.....but the rest of the world would be different. NY needs to do some shit like that for real, just so you could see just how much people rep for the state/country just as much as yall do. Get off that NY will murda the world kick. Remember DJ Quik? What about Snoop? No one ever came back at them niggas for dissing the bronx. Granted it was one of your fave artist Tim mut who STARTED IT. Ny should have, could have held ya boy down. But they didn't and besides tim getting checked they took a shit on the bronx. I can see if I can find those cds if you need proof. Bottom line, if NY was as ready for beef as you said it was, they would be out claiming the world right now like hitler or alexander. Face it man, the WORLD is real, and been practicing for a while this rap thing, but dont take my word for it. But please, I don't care for proving who is what, I DO think you guys in NY take the WORLD for granted. If the world wasn't behind hip hop like it was now, you would be up in here screamin the bronx or ny and niggas would have no idea what the hell you were talking about. So drive slow homie.

theyd have no idea what ny is? seriously where u get this shit from wow. From movies, fashion, music to the mafia...niggas knew what ny was before hip hop. Who is "yall" too damn ready to talk shit?Take it up with just him, "yall" hardly aint said no "shit" in here holmes.

schematics snoop never dissed the bx and know you didnt say dj quik.and i take it you were clowning saying paul wall is nice.but please dj quik come on my nigga you didnt have to go there.
but seriously i know yall hate our swagger.its like that 24/7.
but since you started it tell me who can lyrically hang with jada nas or jigga? im just stating facts.but i aint mad at you.
everytime a nigga from anywhere opens his mouth and raps he is reppin the bronx.and son i been everywhere just spent a week in phoenix az.damn was that depressing.nyc niggas get love all over the world.

You are correct ayo, as far as fashion and movies, etc, all that bullshit. I was speaking of hip hop only. If hip hop was not supported by the world, it wouldn't matter to anybody but yall who the greatest. Whats so funny is that the ny niggas stick together in memorial for the old school. But I gurantee that ny aint in accordance for who is the best. Thanx for response. No one will forget the beginning, but these new school niggas, you cant force feed the world these niggas and say just kuz you the home that we gotta respect any and every artist that come outta new york. You gotta be real and acknowledge that there is some wack shit coming out of ny.

Bxconnect, to answer your question nobody. But there are some guys I met in japan out of the chi and tenn.(not a group, individually), and yo, I would put one of my cars up for them niggas. But see thats what I 'm saying. How you think Jada blew up or nas? I seen a white boy win a battle rap on some shit a while back though. Just some niggas are lyrical, dont mean they can battle. Kuz honestly, that nigga jay ain't came up with one hot battle track to me yet. Nas did. 50 did. If you like Old school LL kool moe dee did. Jay has not impressed me with a battle rap, maybe you can enlighten me on some shit. for real.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz

theres a shitload of wack niggas in nyc.mase jim jones mr cheeks lil cease lil kim i can go on.
lets be real most niggas on here talking shit about nyc aint never been here.
one question if there was no money to be made of rap would all these other states still do it for the love?

schematics nobody I know has ever said there wasnt no wack artists in ny..come on you O-Ding to the fullest. Its a lot of other cats who swear a wack rapper cant come from their region because their region is "popular and on 106 and park" and be quick to name somebody from the old school of their region to try to make it seem as if thats supposed to make that wack artist seem better. Its wack rappers everywhere. And yeah we'd be the only ones talking about whose the best if hip hop never expanded and none of us would even be on this sohh blog cause the shit wouldnt exist. Nobody is forcing nobody...I dont even know what you talking about God.

jiggas catalog speaks for itself.i dont have to defend the god his catalog is insane.have you heard the takeover?
how about when he got at mase on hard knock life volume one.

Word up bx. Yo we'll be the first to admit if they wack..I dont know where u get your shit from holmes.

BX nobody anywhere besides ny I think would still be doing it for the love. I'm glad you brought it up. Its kinda like the real technical wrestlers who been doing it, scoffin at the wwe. I feel your logic. But just like anything else, if someone really wants to be involved with culture, they will have no choice but to find out bout that good ol bx history.
Battle raps, I just didn't find it as ohhh shit!!! combative like the nas shit, or jack the ripper. Maybe its me.
Even beans went off on jada. I think its kuz jay gave off the aura like he was wasting his time if he spent more than a couple of lines on a nigga. He aint dedicated a whole 16 on nobody but nas after that ether shit.....am i wrong?

Come on now niggas hang yo boots up, SCHEMATICS and HighLife : Damn I see whay y'all niggas call this shit lean, man I'm nearly fallin off my chair right now, will I be able to go to work tomorrow or is this shit gonna lay me out for like 2 days??!! Took me a while to find that Promethazine but its all good now. If I got outside this fuckin battered niggas is gonna rob my ass.

I think you'll be good, you did remember to only pour up a deuce right? Don't be freakin out on me man, you'll be alright for work tomorrow. YOU KNOW YOUR CRAZY ASS S'POSED TO WAIT UNTIL FRIDAY!!!!! COULDN'T WAIT HA???

yeah beans served jada even the greats take a lost.i wouldnt have seen that one comming.he ripped jada on his own beat.thats one of the greatest battle raps ever top 10 for real.
jigga got at game on hot 97.
batlling is what rap is really all about.when you think about it when your rapping your claiming to be the best.shit if you dont think your the best rapping then a nigga need to hang it up.of course another nigga gonna think he is better and want to step to a nigga.im from the south bronx so daily niggas will be outside banging on a car or doing the beat box just flowing.its part of our culture.shit i got uncles and aunts in there late 40 s who still listen to rap and will get on a rapper if they shit is trash.we live and breathe the hip hop culture all day everyday.thats why we have the passion that we do.i respect any rapper any place that can flow and have lyrics that he or she took time to craft.
emenem even though his last album was wack is one of the sickest ever.

ENGLANDREPRESENT,

A yo, let me just say this, can you believe them dude thought I was you last week. That shit is crazy. Talking about some stopusingthewordnigga= englandrepresent. That shit didnt even make sense for him to say that..Anyway, maaan dont even listen to people in the states talking about east, west, south. To me its all hip hop, it all represent a form of hip hop. Im from the east coast but I dont dis the south. I like the south for what they are. The only coast I dont like is West, thats just because they havent had anything since Snoop dog's album doggystyle. That was the last time west coast had anything good. And dont let anybody say 2pac , cause to me 2pac was a east caost dude. The man was born in the Bronx if Im not mistaken. All I know he was born in New York City. Think about it- If Afeni Shakur (2pacs mom) didnt move to Oakland when pac was a teenager, PAC would still be in the east coast repin his hood. 2pac wouldnt be hollering WESTSIDE, he be saying BX or some shit. SO to me pac didnt count for the west coast that point goes to us. Pac learn how to rap in NYC. Dont take that as hatin , but just being real. West coast is hip hops weak link. And Game was a fluke. Yeah, I said it. He was a fluke. Now, Im just being honest, Im not hating, but Game sucks. Period, point , blank. If that man didnt have Dr. dre and the kid 50 he would be shit. Watch how his next album do without 50 cent. He cant manage without 50. Think about the song "this is how we do" without 50. Or "hate or love it" without 50. Them songs would suck. Even though they were produce by Dre.Now Im saying this to say the west need to step there came up. I would like to see all coast east west south do there thing. It just hasnt happen for the west since like I said the snoop dog death row area. Maaan, back then as you probably know, the west was doing they thing. From like NWA in '89, to dre's chronic album in '92 to snoop and the dogg pound in '93 and warren g in '94. Oh the west was doing it the the earlier 90's man. I'd just like to see them get back to that point. It just been a dry spell since then. Cause after the last one, warren g in '94, thats when Biggie picked it up in '95 with 1 more change single and ready to die album, then wu tang came in the same year then Nas took over '95/'96, then in '97 the whole Bad boy area(lox, mase, black rob, diddy) '98/99 DMX, jay z, took over then in the 2000 THATS! when the south started to take over with the Cash money/ NO limit. SO as you see its all an evolution. I even forgot the Mid west cats like bone thugs, da brat. Now given these may night be mine or your favorite rapper, but I guess Im just giving you a hip hop time line. Bottom line is it all hip hop, every coast has there turn and right now as the west had it the east had it, now the south has it. I wish people would just let hip hop take its course and stop all this hatin. WHEW! that was a lot.

A, ENGLANDREPRESENT let me as you this, since you seem like one of the few in here who has they mind right, I was watching the news the other day and there is this big controversy right now in the states(not sure if its like that where you are) about these stop snitching t shirts and this whole thing thats going on in the hood about not snitching. Activist are saying that we need put to come forward with info and give up these murders who are on the streets killing our young blacks. They are saying we need not discourge people from coming forward to police and getting people convicted who are committing these crime. I dont know if you've seen in videos where people were wearing those stop snitching t shirts. It real big in the hood right now. Over the summer I couldnt go anywhere without seeing them t shirts. Just wanted to get your input on that issue.

Go On http://www.soundclick.com/akur and listen to "Take My Time" by AKUR.Micwise(me) on the 1st verse,Nebachadnezza on the 2nd,back/forth on 3rd.Some of da illest shit that's out right now.

MY last question to Englandrepresent can go for all who want to give there input. About this whole "HOOD campaingn" with this stop snitching stuff. Is it good, is it bad? I MEAN WHAT DO YA'LL THINK. It on the news that activist are urging stores to stop selling these t shirts because its telling people not to come forward about info for murders who are killing folks in the hood.

Mr. Irreverent just started this blog cause he knew he would get alot of posts. I still think he's bunz. New York is like Bret the Hitman Heart.. The Best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be. Clowns from the south sit up here and talk about NY this and NY that but like I said b4 they couldn't last a fuckin month out here. The south is backwards every thang they do is like that Juvenile song "slow motion" I'm not a hater but dayum ya niggaz even vote for Bush. New York stay on the grind through rain sleet and slow. When was the last time it snowed in Atlanta? or Alabama? Man we be up here in 10 degree weather on the grind still shining and looking cute. The south don't hold no weight, the fact that New York is going against a whole region goes to show how elevated we are. New York is the capital of the U.S let's get it st8 wer're internationally known how many people u know in Europe , Austrailia, China, Japan and Africa heard of Atlanta or Texas? MAN WHEN YOU THINK AMERICA YOU THINK NEW YORK. Why you think them terrorist stay trting perpatrate? KEEP HATIN CAUSE WE NEW YORKERS WE USED TO IT.

man even in grade school i was told snitching aint cool.hold court in the streets thats always been my slogan.snitches make me sick.they turn states then end up in arizona somewhere with a new identity.see no evil speak no evil hear no evil.

stopusingthewordnigga : My opinion on the 'stop snitching' t-shirts is its a load of bullshit. Admittedly my manz's won't talk to the pigs and to an extent neither would I but shit niggas these days got the meaning of 'snitching' twisted. They think snitching is talkin to the fuzz full stop. How the fuck is that snitching? Its snitching if you speaking on something that don't involve you and yet you puttin other niggas in the shit. That stop snitching shit is just a bunch of ignorant muthafuckas who ain't got the intelligence to see what is snitching and what ain't. SCHEMATICS : My ass is cool nigga, just a bit faded!! Damn its takin me like a half hour to write this fuckin post.

Dog, if hiphop shit was like a medium for people then on some real shit, we on the same wavelength. At least for now. I thought it about it today at work. I was remembering I was in NC at the time and my boy who trying to get in the game, he got this smack dvd. I saw murdamook and jaemillz going at it. fucking i cant tell who won. then he had something else with diddy on it with jaemillz and went to some niggas DOORSTEP and jae ate the nigga. then mook and some nigga in the mall. nasty never seen nothing like it in my life.

Point being.

I was high, so I was in the zone. I saw, what I felt was the reason hip hop blew up. It really is a big shit talking contest. And these niggas are like politicians, going on debates, except the fans really are voters. No electoral college shit. But instead of settling for the win, they look for next battle, kuz its always someone talking MORE shit. But even though it often gets to talking about guns, they seem to know where not to take it.

See down south, niggas didn't get it that way. Which is why I tell niggas, hip hop wasn't introduced to us, like a father does to a son, or trainer to a trainee. We got what the people with money wanted us to see. And thats all we had to go by. If niggas from ny had came down and put us on, BEST believe niggas would all be on point with yall at least more than we are right now. I know that sounds like it would've been impossible. But think about it this way. Cali Gangs, look how long it took to get b's and c's over there. But you do. And they all follow the rules that were set up by the OG's. When there was a truce in Cali, everybody all over the world accepted it. I don't know if its going on still or not, but the point is think about if NY would have did that shit. It would be some mean ass battling going on like shit crazy right now.

But, because we only saw niggas trying to make money, nobody really wanted to battle. They go about it wrong like TI did with lil flip. Why J.Prince have to shut it down? TI went about it wrong kuz he don't know how to battle. You dont have to try to take a nigga manhood to battle. We don't do it right. I wish there was more battling though. I try not type this long but shit.

New York to the heart, but got love for all
Lie and die in the fire, where I learned to ball
Uptown is the place where I lay my dome
On the streets of the Bronx where my fa-mi-ly roam /
I rock stones, other niggaz rock gravel
Talk shit? Whatever have you, I'm from Soundview
Bronx most wanted, front get confronted
Playa, we rollin deep in the one point five hundreds
Like Big I., red eyed, mad blunted
You step outside and get blooded have your whole block flooded
With the Bronx it's a warnin, stormin guns out
From, Dusk Til Dawn and it's on, no doubt
Keep a eye on yo' bitch when I'm roamin about
And put a eye on yo' lip nigga, watch yo' mouth
I'm from the Bronx, wipe yo' feet when you step in my house
cause youse a small-time nigga, bout a half an ounce .

Hold up, wait a minute,
Let me put some pimpin it'

THIS IS the best blog ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!minus the gay shit.Mr. irreverent, you still a schmuck, but you did good with this one, LMAFAO

Stop snitchin, man I look back and I should have. I took the rap(by not saying nothing) for a couple of niggas from my hood back in the day. Now with job I got, I can't get a fuck top secret security clearance, so some of the shit I'll never able to do. I got 2 counts on me. ButI just couldn't go back to the hood with that on me. My mama still live in the hood. Man, I live in a house now 5 times more than my mama, but I can still go back because of that shit. So I say all that say I think I wouldn't but if its like Cam on paid in full, I would mos def do that shit now. "i'm still gone be king". I love that fuckin movie.

You settle for a pebble not a stone like a rebel
KRS-One is the holder of a boulder, money folder
You want a fresh style let me show ya
Now way back in the days when hip-hop began
With CoQue LaRock, Kool Herc, and then Bam
Beat boys ran to the latest jam
But when it got shot up they went home and said "Damn
There's got to be a better way to hear our music every day
Beat boys gettin blown away but comin outside anyway"
They tried again outside in Cedar Park
Power from a street light made the place dark
But yo, they didn't care, they turned it out
I know a few understand what I'm talkin about
Remember Bronx River rollin thick
With Kool DJ Red Alert and Chuck Chillout on the mix
When Afrika Islam was rockin the jams
And on the other side of town was a kid named Flash
Patterson and Millbrook projects
Casanova all over, ya couldn't stop it
The Nine Lives Crew, the Cypress Boys
The real Rock Steady takin out these toys
As odd as it looked, as wild as it seemed
I didn't hear a peep from a place called Queens
It was seventy-six, to 1980
The dreads in Brooklyn was crazy
You couldn't bring out your set with no hip-hop
Because the pistols would go/brrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaa........

SCHEMATICS : Watched Paid In Full again last night, that film is off the meter. Still faded.

My whole take on the whole stop snitching thing is, if your involved in drug game or crime life then Yeah I agree with the slogan stop snitching. Why if YOU! GET CAUGHT you have to rat everybody who didnt get caught. Now , thats 1 end. the other end is that 80 year old grandmother who sees drugs being sold in her hallway and she is scared for her safety as well as he grandkids. Are you also telling her not to snitch? So to me its it divided. What I do know is we shouldnt be having t shirts exposing this whole issues because like in my examples there is 2 sides to the issue.

stopusingthewordnigga,
problem is, no one was talking to the police years before, kuz cops were crooked. The tshirt just glamorized the lifestyle going on in every hood. my mama don't even snitch and seen some of niggas run up in somebody house when we was in the projects. we used to rob the pizza man in jr high, and my boys mama was high as hell and saw the whole thing, even when the pizza man came back and called the cops she say she aint see shit. I just think the police made it this way. Its deeper than any tshirt.

but what the tshirts did do is gave schools and police a reason to kick kids out of school. it gave a police a scapegoat as to why they have a problem doing they job. its the main reason i dont like csi, law and order ci(love that svu though) and other shit like that kuz its not real. cops never find no evidence on lampshades or in the corner of the ceiling. see i did it again, i am so damn long winded.

Who wanna spaz out? Crunchtime, blow ya abs out

It's vica versa
Heaven is below, while this dozier keep me high
To see the Lord almighty nigga, I'm ready to die
My reply for any questions asked, "The Devil made me do it"
Who's the Devil may I ask?, It's so polluted
Up-rooted from all this stupid shit
See me cremated, my adaption to the climate
So glad I made it
Elated that they gon' go to Heaven
But do they know Heaven may not be th place to go
Again I ask, Heaven was Hell and vica versa
The devil's in me and I'll be damned if I'm gon let god hurt ya

SCHEMATICS,

See this is why I like talking to you and ENGLANDREPRESNT, you guys make sense. That a good point about cops not doing there job. Like where Im from they say "well, it hard to solve murders because people who know stuff dont come forward" thats because cops dont do a good job of protecting people who come forward. I heard of regular 9-5 working citizens who get killed because they were going to downtown courthouse house to testify again there local drug lord. So yeah you right man, if people can get more of an assurance from police that nothing will happen to them if they come forward then maybe more people would consider coming forward. Also if POLICE themselves do a better job investigating these cases like your law and order, CSI, shows.I mean them boys on them shows dont let up until these cases are solves. They go through DNA, text messages, voice mails, phone records, talk to family, friends, look at the victims clothing. In real life, the murder happens today and the case is closed by friday. They dont do half of those things. Case and point Biggie and tupac. Police have evident TODAY!! to solve those 2 murders. I promise you. And also it has to do a lot with race. Its like they feel "Let them animals kill each other" shit is crazy, just wanted to know want you 2 have to say about this issue.

It' going, its going, it's going , it's gone,
Your heart is took because Kris is strong,
And mighty, undefeated, I mean it.
Pick up the album, turn it over and read it.
Written, produced, directed and mixed.
Get off the tip, or get off the many tips.
Pick a tip, and tip, get off the tip,
I got ridiculous styles, I'm not forcing it.
YOU sit at home with a pen and a pad,
Going mad, sad, glad, dad, bad.
That style's from seventy-eight,a little late, so get a tape from the great Blastmaster Poetic, your record sound pathetic, Oh, I mean demo tape.I give you credit.
There's no need to dis KRS-One,
I'm trained in combat and besides it's fun.
From the SOUTH BRONX!!!! We got no comp.
Every other crew that tried got stomped.
Steppin' up to me, well, it's kinda scary and I'd eat ya like eat but I'm vegetarian.............

ROBBIEDADON,

Yo, I ws packin' da mac in the back of da Ac.Pun
As a young kid was too much to cope with, why you think mufukas nicknamed me cooked coke shit.......Gordo Jose
Use a simple back and forth, that same old rhythm, that a baby could pick up and join right with 'em.
But the rhymes are pathetic, they think they copastetic, using nursery terms at least not poetic. (UltraMagnetic MC's Kool Keith/Run-DMC dis from "Ego Trippin'/First on-wax usage of the famous "Substitution Break" which was later used by Naughty By Nature for "O.P.P." and Gangstarr for "DWYCK")

I'm back
Back to smack attack
Those who wack and lack my experience
On the microphone holding my own ground
Dominating forces
Change the sources, punks takes losses
Enough cause it's me on the mic
Feeding on words, smart like a nerd
Haven't you heard this change of rhyme
Continuing the land of time
For my incredible, highly elevated
Smooth in the mind, more sophisicated
Motivated, as I relate it verbal
Dissing a mouse and smacking any gerbel
I bought a Saab, a tricked out Turbo
Shining, fog lights in the front
I'm by myself, no seats for a stunt
'Cause I want it like that, I got it like that
I have it like, I need it like that
It's better like that, I made it like that
I bought it like that, I'm living like that
For you wack MC's
Who go on the mic and blow on the mic
And perpetrate frauds and making mistakes
Like an amateur but I'm a 20 year veteran
And better than, including the rest of them
I chew 'em all and spit out the best of them
One by one, I'm teaching my son
To ease back
Ease back

I also thought that 2pac thing was foul, kuz if you've never been to Las Vegas, it is touted the as the safest strip in the US, if not the planet. Reason being is kuz traffic on the strip, on a regular day is like rush hour traffic. But when there's an event, like a concert or a fight like that, traffic is like a dead snail man. Its IMPOSSIBLE to commit a crime, man, on top of the fact there are mad cameras on the strip. I know the Tupac thing was setup. I don't believe in the come back again shit, but I do know that Pac was trying to change is life. Thats why folk at first were saying ti was an assassination. of course chris rock clowned that shit. But imagine Pac turning around from all the shit between him and biggie and then turning around and trying to unite the game. It cant happen that way. Same way with 50 cent, if he were to attempt to unify the coasts, before he gets played out of course....it would be something amazing. But he'd probably end up dead too.

Biggies death was totally full of shit. Puffy faggot ass never should have let that nigga leave ny without the bulletproof-for-life supply kit. I don't want to make niggas upset though. I feel like diddy could've done something. But oh hell here i go again....

I get in shape and do my physical fitness
Your head's numb, so your brains a miss this
Pick 'em up, eat 'em up, pick 'em up, beat 'em up
Pick 'em up pimplehead, pick 'em up picky
I roll wit globs and I come real sticky
Ripping the mic, I plug it up in your ears
Crazed and brewer. I'm coming out like beers
Like Rheingold, Miller, Coors, and Buds
I'm a eat 'em wit popcorn and treat 'em like suds you duds
Coming out the wick wack, wicky, wickable wack
Black jack, that's a fact, writing exact behind your back
The funk rhyme to master, blaster
Kicking up in a brainstorm, rainstorm
Rap storm, rap form
Rap time, rap rhyme
Rap class, I'm here to fail and to pass
To continue, from the more, hype tip
I roll and rock, rock and roll
Jazz and pop, rhythm and Blues
Dance and fusion, pain confusion
Look at the lights, what a night on the town
I'm Poppa Large, big shot on the East coast(4x)

You cold wanna be with me,

Beat Street
The king of the beat
You see him rocking that beat from across the street
And Huh Huh!
Beat Street is a lesson too, because you can’t let the Streets beat you!

Well a picture can express a thousand words to describe all the beauty of life you give
And if the world was yours to do over, I know you’d paint a better place to live
Where the colours would swirl and the boys and girls can grow in peace and harmony
And where murals stand on walls so grand as far as the eyes are able to see, Ha!
I never knew art til I saw your face and there’ll never be one to take your place
‘Cause each and every time you touch the spray paint can
Michelangelo’s soul controls your hand
Then serenades of blue and red and the beauty of the rainbow fills your head
Crescendo of colours hang in tune, Man why oh why d’ya have to die so soon?
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, where the good die young it’s all thy must
‘Cause as life must live, death must die and the tear shall fall from the living eye, Huh!
The teardrops fall for the state of mind of the beautiful lady that you left behind
In love and alone, but now you’re dead, and she still can’t get you out of her head, Huh!
More tears fall for all you’ve done, trying to be a good father to your only son
But now who’s gonna make sure that he’s fed, put a shirt on his back and a roof overhead?
Tell me who’s gonna dream the impossible dream of the beautiful cities in the islands genes?
When your works of art brought into being all that the ghetto stopped you from seeing
Bums on the sidewalk, garbage in the streets, abandoned buildings, bricks of concrete
The ladies on the corner are selling their bodies, and everybody wants a part in that party
I’m hanging out tough, rocking late at night, running wild in the town of the neon light
You either play some ball or stand in the hall Huh!
You gotta make something outta nothing at all
I’m sitting in the classroom learning the rules and it says you can’t do graffiti in school
They can’t be wrong in the hallowed hall, so my notebook turned into a brick wall
The heart of a lion and the courage of three, and the mind of a man much wiser than me
You’re the soul of the brother who won’t come back
Who died in my arms on the railroad track
‘Cause I’m caught in the rat race, looking for my own space
There’s gotta be a better place for you and me
There’s pie in the sky, and an eye for an eye
Some people gotta die just to be free
You search for justice and what do you find?
You find just us on the unemployment line
You find just us sweating from dawn to dusk
There’s no justice, there’s Huh, just us, Ha!
Still life urban masterpiece, your trademark was written on trains and walls
A million dollar gift only God released, and yet you got killed for nothing at all
So after this there’ll be no more hard times, no more bad times and no more pain
No more chump change, none of that bull
Just movies, museums and the hall of fame
So all you Hip Hops get on up, and let’s take it to the top where we belong...

[Mellie Mel - Beat Street]

SCHEMATICS : Both them murders was foul nigga and both them murders was set up by that fat bitch Suge. The reason why both of them was never investigated fully (until now with the Biggie one) was Suge had off duty cops doin the shooting. No wonder y'all niggas don't trust your cops, havin said that it was black cops that did the shooting.

Roxanne Roxanne - yeah gotta give love to U.T.F.O................

New York New York, big city of dreams
And everything in New York ain't always what it seems
You might get fooled if you come from out of town
But I'm down by law and I know my way around!.
[Grandmaster Flash And The Furious 5]

Black cops are the WORST!!!! I don't even like how they assume we wanna be cool with them fuck niggas. When I was in the military the white cop was letting me go, kuz i was dui'ing it up at the time. But the black dude, that fat muthafucka turned me and they took my license for 6 mos.

But anyhow, there was too much influence held between those two men. The industry don't wanna celebrate the positive side of rap, only when someone goin to jail. Sohh does it too, they on the scene when sombody going to jail.

see rfiggz i remember some shit. just a little though. it was all about ll, rundmc, utfo, saltnpepa, and michael jackson. you had rap city, but you had too watch it every day to be able to recite it at school. doug e. fresh had niggas trying to beatbox with water in they mouth and shit. we didnt have a lot of other shit until wayyyyyy later. bdk showed niggas it was cool to dance and still be a real nigga. man like it was yesterday....

And that comes back to the media highlighting the negative things in hip-hop as opposed to the positive things. Happened with the whole East Coast West Coast thing, hyping the negative which in turn is hyping black men in a negative way. My head is almost straight now off of that lean but damn that shit had me faded for hours, I'ma get on it this weekend.

Well i am out.
I am gonna leave you with the verse that gave 5o CeNt his first buzz-this one is for QuEEnz.
R.I.P B.I.G, R.I.P P-A-C, R.I.P niggas that wanna OD
Aiyyo the bottom line is I'ma crook with a deal
If my record don't sell I'ma rob and steal
You better recognize nigga I'm straight from the street
These industry niggaz startin to look like somethin to eat
I'll snatch Kim and tell Puff, "You wanna see her again?"
Get your ass down to the nearest ATM
I have dreams of fuckin an R&B bitch
And I'll wake up early and bounce with all your shit
When I apply pressure, son it aint even funny
I'm about to stick Bobby for some of that Whitney money
Brian McKnight, I can get that nigga anytime
Have Keith sweatin starin down the barrel from my nine
Since these Harlem World niggaz seem to all be fam
I put the gun to Cardan tell him, "Tell your man
Mason Betha, haha, come up of that watch now
I mean right now"
The only excuse for being broke is bein in jail
An entertainer can't make bail if he broke as hell
I'd rob ODB but that'd be a waste of time
Probably have to clap him run and toss the nine
I'd follow Fox in the drop for four blocks
Plottin to juice her for that rock Kurupt copped
What Jigga just sold like 4 mil? He got somethin to live for
Don't want no nigga puttin four thru that Bentley Coupe door
I'll man handle Mariah like "Bitch get on the ground"
You ain't with Tommy no more who gonna protect you now?
I been skeamin on Tone and Poke since they found me
Steve know not to wear that platinum shit around me
I'm a klepto nah for real son I'm sick
I'm bout to stick Slick Rick for all that old school shit
Right now I'm bent and when I get like this I don't think
About to make Stevie J take off that tight ass mink
I'll rob Pun without a gun snatch his piece then run
This nigga weigh 400 pounds, how he gon catch me son?

SCHEMATICS,

I dont really know if I would put the blame on Diddy. I mean Biggie was a grown ass man and biggie did what he wanted. Biggie was diddy artist but diddy didnt own biggie, so he couldnt really tell biggie put this vest on. And what reason would biggie really think he needs a vest when he had security. I dont know if you ever wore them vest before cousin but that is not something you would be comfortable in walking around the club or hot ass Los Angales. I honestly dont think there is anything anyone could of done to stop biggie from getting killed that night. I mean he at a stop light on the passanger side. And a car pulls along side and lets of a whole clip. Nothing you can do to prevent that. They said Biggie was shot at 17 times, like 7 hit big. I honestly dont think a vest would of heighten his changes of serviving that. Biggie die almost instantly. They was out in LA to . So there not much that could of been done about Big.

Your theory on pac sounds about right like I think about that 2. Las Vegas strip and nobody saw anyone. And I didnt know about about the cameras on the Las vegas strip.

Yo, EnglandRepresent, yous an eager beaver for real man. The weekend maybe you find that screwtape and be on it for real....i aint even tell you about the fuckactions(r&b screwed and chopped up) with your fave girl gone on that lean it be on seem like for hours dude. Stay up man!! U crazy dude.

Stopusingthewordnigga, when I say bulletproof for life, I mean the car, the windows, bomb proof the the bottom of the car. I KNOW its possible, I seen this special on discovery channel and master p got his doors and windows done for $80,000. I don't know how much the bomb proof shit cost, but I'm sure these rapper niggas can afford it. I know BIG could. I don't know man, maybe I'm just backseat jivin, but niggas in the world are crazy nowdays. I gotta have bulletproof before I get security. Thats just me.....I mean if I was in BIGS/PACS situation...

I just remembered no one answered my question, I gotta know who is Mariano of the marriott? What's up? I must be late kuz niggas act like i was playing or somethin...

Yo, yo, yo checki it.......yo, drop the beat...yo. yo, yo, ima come in right here....yo, check it, yo...........turn it up nigga, yo.......yeah , yo, yeah yo, yo...........fuck.

Yup Schematics you need to read that Rolling Stones article which sheds a bit of light on all that shit. It was just a lot of conicidence that led to BIG gettin hsot like he was supposed to come to London but instead he flew out to Cali. Then he was'nt gonna go to the Awards show but Puff at the last minute decided they would. A lot of coincidences led to that shootin but yeah 7 slugs is gonna kill yo ass whatever.

Fuck NYC And the East and the South cause all that shit is garbage, Papoose, Saigon, Anyone form NY except well fuck em fuck NY. I rep that Kali shit bitches. Yukmouth and the REGIME niggas oh and by the way yes i do smoke PURP. Along wit thizzin rest in peace to MAC DRE a True lyrical MC!!!!!!!Check out Mistah FAB, The Jacka,

How in heavens name do you miss out BIG L, not in the sense of where he's from, just due to the fact that you're throwin out names mention ditc and skip him. explain that.

The West Coast is Wack.
All ya'll got is Snoop.
I don't even know the wack niggas you named. get real. Tell you the truth The whole country is fucked up right now. There ain't no Unity.
But the West Coast will always be the worst!

Say KillaKali_PURP do you have dreadlocks like Mr Yukmouth? Cos damn I like to tug on them dreadlocks while I'm poundin niggas asses from behind. Oh shit you live in Cali, boy I live on Cedar Block, me and Gayme havin been datin for a while now so how bout you bring Cokmouth round me and Gayme's place and we can get into a lil 4way, what you say bigboy?

This is tha fuckin reason u bastards should have been listening to Southern rap this whole time, I aint never seen niggas(that listen to southern rap) argue over rap like u NY niggas, Fuckin hilarious to me!!!

Killa Kali shut the fuck up and shake that laffy taffy beeyotch.west coast and east coast aint shit its all about the south D4L is better than ALL yall

fuck all yall shake that laffy taffy yall know d4l better than any NY nigga and any CA nigga dont disrespect the royal south boiii

East Coast folk are always wondering what happened to their dominance. Shit, it’s the record companies fault more so than your boring attempt to be crunk. They tell your artists what they need to put out, when they have to put it out, and all sorts of other things that take creative control away from your artists. Until your artists learn to do things on their own and stop needing some daddy-type figure in the record companies to do their selling for them, go on ahead and get used to the art-form you created never being back in your hands…

So while the South is running shit, be sure to get this mixtape. DJ Drama hails originally from the East Coast, but he knew a diamond in the ruff (The Southern Hip-Hop Movement) when he saw one. He has been down here working with Southern MC’s for a long time. He started Jeezy with the classic mixtape “Trap or Die” which pushed 200,000 independently. His tracks are not for the club, they are for listening pleasure which forces our artists, who you East Coast folk swear have no “lyrics” (which metaphorically means being from NY in your heads) to truly spit 16 bars all throughout.

You can find "The Welcome Home Party" under the DJ Drama section. It’s only about seven bucks, so get on it; even my biased tunnel-visioned East Coast heads should enjoy it. The Midwest and Dirty South will love it because you will see that Pat is getting back to making “Ghetty Green” type music with him not taking his freedom for granted anymore. He also sees the foundation he’s helped build in Southern hip-hop and with our takeover of the game.

TO'DA CHI
I have heard about east coasts artists biting midwest artists chicago to be exact. Chicago hip hop seen is bigger than the new york hip hop scene so it really dosen't matter.

To my east coast heads not familar with Project Patt are you...

You Supposedly Know Hip-Hop, But Have No Idea Who Project Pat Is??? My Guess Is You’re From The Same Planet As Alf, Or You’re From New York…

And the Jay-z and Beyonce thing well:

as i said earlier

Beyonce, come back to your roots baby. Leave that imposter and hook up with Andre 3000, Fonzworth Bentley, my friend Jonathan, or somebody else from the Dirty. I suggest you East Coast critics start respecting our music because you are about to find out, if you already haven't, that your glory days of ruling the charts are very long behind you. Your region created hip-hop, and the rest of the country thanks you, BUT WE'LL TAKE IT FROM HERE.

I'm posting this again cuz some of ya'll obviously didn't see it...

Andre Ramona:

I think it is disrespectful to name such legend 'goats'.

you are the goat!!!

All New York Rappers sound alike. Sorry. Just my opinion. All of ya'll use the same flow and the same formula. But, ya'll dont see it like that. Ya'll thimk just because a nigga is from "up-top" that he's nicer than any othr nigga in the country. New York has flooded the market with carbon copy MC's. Everyone up there either whats to sound like Jigga or Nas. Get some creativity, switch your flow up. Do something. Thats why no one cares about a "New York MC" anymore.

You have alienated the entire country for over 20 years with your arrogance and that "I'm better than you, because I'm from NY" attitude. Now the tables have turned and ya'll cats cant deal with it.

So my advice is just chill, stop hating on the South and your time will come back around again.

One.

Thats real talk quE. I'm wit cha on that one.

I agree with Nike on his posts about New York critics and their double standards. They always fall back on the lyrical argument. "Cats from the South hot, but they ain't lyrical" Well you tell me, what is the difference in what Cam and Juelz do and what Young Jeezy does? Nothing, its just that Jeezy from GA and Dipset from NY. And I don't think that Young Jeezy is lyrical. He straight. He remind me of Master P, he the shit right now, but will I still be listening to him in 5 years??? ehhhh. Don't get me wrong, P is still the Ultimate Hustla(Not Dame Dummy). And before you start, I know Dipset isn't representative of all of NY, just like Jeezy isn't representative of all of GA. Everybody here don't dig him like that. Personally his album is weak to me, but his Gangta Grillz mixtape "Trap Or Die" was a cult classic. He should have repackaged that and sold it as his debut album. My favorite rappers are Jay-Z, Andre 3000 and Bun B. The only difference between them is their life experiences and influences. If you listen closely enough they rap about most of the same things. They just come from different perspectives because they from different hoods. A lot of hate is directed towards D4L for Laffy Taffy and their rhymes. They are not lyrical, but their music is for the clubs. I hated it when I first heard it(and its still ehhhhh.) but its serves a purpose. Its gets the ladies shaking in the club. If the ladies get into it, then the fellas get into it. That equals $$$$. Its all about the money. if you don't like it then don't listen. I like music from all regions. I like the variety of cultures that our people have. I love West coast music, NY music, Midwest music, and all music in the south.

The problem is that we as a people don't control the medium. We are pawns in the game. The Jimmy Iovines and Clive Davises and Radio One and Clear Channell and Viacom and people like that run the music industry and how it is portrayed. They put the music and videos out that they want you to hear. Jimmy Iovine won't out out I'm Black by Styles P, a song with a positive message, good lyrics, great production, probably one of the best songs I ever heard. The whole system is set up for us to destroy ourselves. There is not enough balance in the game. We need to stop watching BET, MTV, VH1 and get together and create what BET was before it was sold to Viacom. Robert Johnson sold us out as a people and I don't totally blame him, but at the same time I do. He took away our voice, the only thing that was ours. Now we back on the plantation, don't speak or you will suffer the consequences. I.E. Tavis Smiley speaking his mind and getting fired by BET. That was them telling us to stay in our place. We need to get someone to start a few music shows that allow new artist and diverse music to break in. With that said we need ownership. I applaud Master P for starting a music distribution company. That is a start in the right direction. I will try to do business with him when me and my boys get this music thing going. Fuck a major label, i'll never sign my life away.

"What are we doing? killing ourselves, clowining ourselves, but most of all, not being ourselves. What makes you ashamed of being black" -- Tupac

PS- Murphy Lee, Memphis Bleek and Benzino are the worst rappers ever
