DMX has just released his first single, Pump Your Fist [Listen: Windows Media] and to be honest, I didn't think X could make a song WORSER than Get It on the Floor.
With all the hits Swizz has been making these days, I knew one of them would be ass. Well this is the one.
Now, I've been wrong in the past about DMX songs. If someone would have told me Party Up was going to blow like it did, I would have been like whatever. [I still think it's wack and the video is worser.] But I think I'm on the right track with this song.
This is where we will see what THE CARTER ADMINISTRATION is made of.

First and foremost, I thought that Grand Champ was it. The end in the long, excruitiating DMX saga. Someone let me know but I thought DMX retired. Anyway, to give X his props, he WAS the rap game for a certain span in the mid nineties, but that doesn't mean hes good. I like the old school feel of the new single, too bad I cant hear a fucking word he's saying because of the incessant editing. X is so damn weak as a lyricist. I mean, if your going to say that your going to break someone off with a good ass whooping or shoot up their crew, at least say it clever like them D block boys or MOBB DEEP . I mean this is the shit we accept as music these days. The production is lazy though, its the same old swizz. If Swizz wasnt yelling like he unnecessarily does on every track, I would know that its his shit. I mean get it on the floor wasnt that bad because even though X was talking the same old shit, the production was so hot that I always wanted to dance to it.
"Flavor like snapple, you can all get some"
should have followed that up with a no homo Dark Man.
Holla Back
Yo man what do you mean X has no lyrics?? Your not listening to the song as you said you like songs to dance to. BUN DAT!
X is deeper then you think. One verse you think hes talking about this when he is really talking about that. Listen to the song the industry then come back here.
X is the most underrated rapper ever PERIOD!!!!!
Hold up son. First of all, I said he was weak lyrically, I didnt say he was horrible, but he does too much god damn barking. And dont misquote me, my girl does that enough. I said
"I mean get it on the floor wasnt that bad because even though X was talking the same old shit, the production was so hot that I always wanted to dance to it."
I never said I like songs to dance to. I listen to mos, the gza, del, canibus, nas, enigmatic and a whole lot of other cats who could murder DMX lyrically. Yeah, D has some songs with some depth but he mainly talks about the same old shit and he hardly ever switches his flow up. I dont
think DMX is underrated, if anything he is overrated because I wouldnt put him in my top 30 lyricists of all time. Dont get me wrong, Its Dark and Hell is Hot is good disc and so is Flesh of My Flesh, but as he goes on in his career, I just am not feeling him anymore. And thats just the way the shit kerplunks.
ive heard the new X joint and well.....
there was a time when X was on top. but that was just after my era of music. i didnt start understanding the words to what rappers was actually saying until the whole jay-z and nas battle. im 18 now. and i listen 2 every word that rappers say.
X has said some powerful shit in his songs. and i neva judge an artist by there commerical release. its all about the album.
i had "and there was X" when i was like 14 and that album was crazy even though i didnt listen to it word for word but it had a ruff ryders flow though the whole lp.
as for swiss beats. i can honestly say that he doesnt know how to play instruments, his sh!t is so basic its unbelievable.
back when swiss made ruff ryders anthem and the sh!t for hov was his hay day. now he got cassidy who without punchlines aint sh!t. its an uphill struggle to the top. someone tell how cass "became the best when B.I.G died". because i dont get it.
holla back.
"Worser" is not a word.
Yeah... I think he knows "worser" is not a word. I think he's using the word to emphasize how bad the joint is.
Alright dmx had his day and he aint lyrical at all and yeah nas jada and immortal technique could out do him lyrically but the difference is thier shit dont sell as easy...
yall x had his time, he needs to stick to acting and taking driving lessons cause rap is lost cause for him right now. but he got some die hard fans who gonna buy whatever he put out so i guess he say fuck it why not?
yeah, in '98, DMX had shit on-lock. That's because when he first came in, he didn't give a fuck. To this day MTV as yet to play "Where My Dogs At?" in full length cuz of how they wanted him to re-edit his shit for suburbian kids. Now, he knows the industry and knows that shit, everyone needs that radio friendly single to help promote ur shit. correct me if i'm wrong but D's best singles have NEVER been the ones that hit the radio, besides the joints from Dark and Hell It's Hot. Yeah, i thought dude wuz retired also but shit, Jigga been doin that shit since Reasonable Doubt. Jus let dude do him, there's always a remedy for not likin what u hear or see, change the channel.
i hate to say it, but DMX...is over! he had his burn and now his flame has been extinguished. his 1st 2 releases were FIRE! after that its been a wrap. his flow is exhausted and his selection of beats are HORRIBLE. he does need to stick to acting cuz Never Die Alone was a good azz movie... 1 hunnid!
You people are funny. Every single rapper has his day of glory and then he's finished. EVERYONE. So its no surprise that X was gon fall off son enough. I mean believe it or not 50 will fall off and so will many people that consistently been on the radio for the past few years. It happens, it aint nothin new get over it. If we really gotta go into past good DMX albums. Yes his first and second were his best. Hip hip hooray.

As for Swizz Beatz....NOW theres somebody you can criticize. THat muthafucka has worse beats. Nas' "Salute Me" is the perfect example.
Worser? There is no such word.
DMX was once hailed as the new PAC...go figure...
The guy has been played out ...his lyrics are monotonic...his got the same recipe for every album ...murder death kill anger ...
come on X ..we know u better than that...
to survive amongst cats like REDMAN ..MOS DEF ..NAS AND JIGGA ...u need more ammo and creativity ...X marks the spot where dmx once was....but is no more...
A'ight. Dark Man X has come a long way, from "It's Dark.." to "Grand Champ" but let's face it.. Pump Ya Fist isn't all that bad. I mean, Get It On The Floor -- I just couldn't stand, man. But, I like that hostile, dark shit that X STAYS spitting. THe one thing that people love about X, is his energy. The way he flows. I'm not talking lyrics.. I'm talking DELIVERY. And delivery is just as important. X put in some damn work, bitches. Now, I ain't no dick-rider.. but, stop the hating. YOu heard one song from X.. not every song in the arsenal is gonna be good. I mean, face it -- there's CDs that you buy where you just skip a particular song cuz you don't feel like hearing it. Right or wrong? Ok.
I'm definately a hardcore DMX fan. But since the Great Depression and then WOW, Grand Champ.... it's been a downslide ride...
I hope this time in his lyrics & music they will blow up, like they did in And there was X...
Because to me, that was the BEST lyrics out of all his albums, along with music.
yo, I feel like most people feel about his 1st and 2nd cd's...erything after that wasn't really worth listenin 2...I did like dat last 1 he put out..grand champ...yea, but he might as well hang dat mike up. all dat barkin shit is old and he aint really progress in his music like jay did. honestly, in my opinion...he's like 43rd in my top 50 all time....but he still get's props 4 puttin out "wut deez bitches want" cuz ery nigga can relate 2 dat shit.
If DMX hooked up with the right producer, he could be very good again. I remember reading an interview of Busta Rhymes where he talked about working with Dre on "Break ya Neck", he said Dre kept sending him back to work on lyrics until it met Dre's approval. Someone needs to send DMX back to work a little harder and demand more from him. He is very capable, and has a different sound, just needs to reinvent himself with the right producer.
what you haters you dont even understand his music all his albums were great.stop listening to your powderpuff shit music and play some X.his beats have always been good, fuckign faggots you just like to post shit on forums?hahaha.put some variety in your life!suck my dick, peace.
(and dont even bother replying i dont come here like you losers)
