I totally respect the works of Russell Simmons, The Vegan Who Sells Leather Goods, but for the life of me, I have to wonder, why he would sign Run as his first artist to his new label?
Run 'was' a nice emcee. He 'had' the voice. He 'had' the delivery. He 'had' the style. But that's past tense. His current appearances on various joints have been wack. His designs on Phat Farm have been wack. No one is wearing this!
Russ, if your assistant is reading this to you, putting your brother out first will equal failure. He doesn't have what it takes anymore. Move on.
for Run's sake coming out first might not be the best move. But of course Russell will look out for family. I would too.
