Fat Joe Steals Jay-Z's MoJo

I don't think Joe is stealing from Jay-Z and even if he did then he is just really stealing from Nas. Jay-Z is the replica of Nas, style flow and lyrics. Jay-Z is more business minded and has done more in the world of entreprenuership but any true Hip-Hop fan knows that Jay-Z is a "cut, copy and paste" artist. He cuts out the lines of another rapper {choose any of the following}--Biggie, Snoop, Nas, Big L, Camron, Juelz Santana, Tupac-- after he cuts out the line he copies it to his lyrics and then pastes it. If you don't agree with any of the above, look for an underground track called "I'm a biter not a writer". It has every song Jay-Z has ever stolen from, the original followed by his version. Please people don't be brainwashed by corporate America. This is not an emcee to be considered in the Top 5 of all time and in my opinon not even the Top 10. In record sales and business, he is great and a mastermind but not in lyricism and artistry.

Nas is a copy of Kool G Rap..if you want to be frank..and a close follower of the Rakim style of rap(5 percent stuff, dropping knowledge and teachings, etc..)Jay Z is a great businessman but an outstanding emcee 2. Jay is more what Big daddy Kane was, but with more hate because people like yourself can't respect some one who can be both.

who cares everybody is just doing thier thing.if somebody takes tips from someone else, its ok theyre putting thier own spin on it. we still get a taste of the artist.i dont see anybody just straight copying someone else.sometimes people have simular styles or ways of doing things.or sometimes people get inspiration from others and maybe take after them in a way and there is nothing wrong with that.eventually as time goes on they will develope thier own uniquness.if they dont they will fall off completely because you cant fool the people.

Nas has definetely influenced jay-z's style. There is no doubt about that. Let me say this: I like both Jay & Nas. They both dope to me. A lot of you make some good points about Jay & Nas. Jay is a hustler, 1st & foremost. Nas just sticks to rhymin'. They're both on a paper chase. They just have different means of gettin' it. Nothin wrong with gettin that dough. Simply put, Jay does what he does to sell as many records as possible. He panders to the programmed dummies with his singles however his album cuts are usually deeper. Nas ain't tryin to get radio love anymore like he did with forgettable songs like You Owe Me & Oochie Wally. We all know that ain't really Nas. He ain't no flashy type of dude. He realized he gotta be true to himself. He can't go make records like Jay and Jay ain't gonna make records like Nas speaking on the things Nas talks about now. 50 as a lyricist is garbage. He's a straight commercial rapper. I'm not hatin' on him or nothing cuz he sold what he sold. Just because you have a different opinion about something doesn't mean you hatin'. Hating is when you do whatever you can do just to stop someone else from succeeding. THAT'S HATE!!!! My opinion isn't gonna stop 50 from selling another 8 million. People just get caught up in the hype of units sold and high visibility(videos, guest spots, etc.). Just because you on the radio a lot and all over the TV don't mean you the best there is. Just ask Ja Rule. Without Interscope's help, 50 would be nothing. They got behind 50 because of Eminem and Dre. Jadakiss is also a part of Interscope but don't you ever even think he's gonna get a 50 Cent budget for his albums. Yeah Jada is a much better MC but 50 is the one who sells and has cats like Em & Dre behind him. We all know he isn't aisn't in Jay or Nas or even Jada's class when it comes to writing. Again, I'm not a 50 hater. I just understand the difference between a real MC and a simple rapper. He panders to the radio and he's with a coporate monster(Interscope)that has the promotion power and industry leverage to get those sales up to 8 mil.

By the way; I understand that every MC is in the business of selling records. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Every MC wanna sell 8 or 9 mil like 50 or Eminem. However lots of them aren't gonna sell out just to do it. Even Em realizes that his sales are in part due to his race. If he were Black and spit the same rhymes and had the same beats, I guarantee he wouldn't go platinum. Those who have truly listened to him and know anything at all about hip-hop will understand that statement. I admit that the boy can spit but I wouldn't say he's the greatest by any stretch of the imagination. However, this aint about Em or the fact he's White. this is about an artist being true to himself and staying in his lane or an artist coming in trying to be something he's not and selling out just to get radio love.

oh...and I do agree that Jay took it to where B.I.G. would have in terms of the success Jay had enjoyed.

Everybody hates on the favorites like Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Eminem, etc. because they are liked better than rapper(s) you prefer. Someone said Nas is a true rhyme spitter. HOW? Cause he's political. Personally Ive been a fan of Nas since Illmatic, but I do think people ride his d*ck a little too hard ever since ether. Like he's invincible or something. I remember when Lil' wayne mentioned on a track he wanted to F Kelis and said some shit about 50 most people on the rap boards were all like "nas would crush that nigga in one verse" or all of a sudden Wayne's garbage compared to 50, without even listenin to dude since 98 when he was still a youngin.
People stay sayin Jigga is fake too. But fact is he raps more about shit he's really done than Nas ever has. Nas is a great storyteller and you can pretty much vissualize in depth anything he's saying which makes him so tight. His flow is great and hes a great righter. Jigga is a freestyler for the most part and he has a tendency to bite lyrics as a result. He admitted to selling out a bit after Reasonable Doubt, but it was to sell records and he definately did a good job at that. Nas is more about being truly respected as an artist than that. Hov is a hustler and of course mostly about making paper.
RD was his best album by far but sold the least. If you think he's not a legitimate rapper go pop that in (And I personally love blueprint). Selling records doesnt make you a better rapper though, and I would put Nas and Jada leagues above 50 when it comes to whos the better rapper. Makin club singles and head bobbers ussually sells more records though. Do you really think Jigga raps better on Blueprint 2 than Reasonable Doubt just because it sold more?

As for Nas, contrary to popular belief him and Pac did squash the beef as reported by several members of Outlawz, and they were cool with eachother when they met up at shows etc (as for him and big I'm not too sure besides puffand Nas havin sorta been cool with eachother before, but biggie and Raekwon had beef yet Nas was the first outside artist on a Wu album, dont think that made him a nd Big enemies though). But Pac had fried him on All Eyes on Me, cuz "the message" was mostly bullshit that sounded good. You can tell on stillmatic Nas got a lot better at frying people, but as a writer he definately put more time into it than Jayz's freestyled Supa Ugly. And probably alot more than Takeover too. Anyway neither Nas or Jigga suck though.

As far as the cat who brought up the track record of Jay & Nas......Yeah Illmatic was a classic. So was Reasonable Doubt. I feel like the Blueprint & The Black Album are classics too. Stillmatic got 5 mics but I'm kinda iffy about that one because there were some songs I wasn't feeling like that Braveheart joint w/Mary J. Blige called Braveheart Party. Anything involving the Bravehearts is trash. Nastradamus wasn't THAT bad but it was definitely Nas worst album ever. I Am was aiight. I ain't gonna front....I loved It Was Written. Good storytelling but that's all it was. Some folk felt like he was really spittin about his life. It caused Pac to go at him cuz he felt he was spittin fake sh!t. They squashed that before he passed according to the Outlawz. If Nas was lying about that, they would have been on his a$$.

I feel like if you not about a certain thing, don't open your mouth about it. If you ain't in the drug game, don't be spittin about your deals with Columbians & Dominicans. If you ain't that cat that's really gonna bust your gun, then don't talk about that in your rhymes. Be yourself. I'm feelin' Street's Disciple cuz it's different. It isn't the most popular or eye catching but he's found himself (about time because doing another "I Am..." would be a very bad idea) As far as 50, I don't hate him. It's just that he doesn't impress me lyrically bu he don't care about outstanding lyrics, just outstanding sales. That kinda irks me but my opinion about his lack of lyrical skills ain't gonna stop the 106th & Park kids and especially the chicks from coppin his album. They only listen to the beats and the hooks anyway.
