The fact that Reebock is moving away from HIP HOP is good news. Hip Hop artists have become voluntary slaves to corporations. Many artists like 50 (but not Hov) have tailored their music to appeal to the people their corporate masters have told to them to target. They're capitalists (o.k. that is cool) so if Amy in Iowa is going buy over Yasmine in Southeast D.C. then the hell with YAsmine I am going to spit for Amy; is the mindest.

One thing I like about Kanye is that he put his music out without compromise and either you like it or you don't. To me that what hip hop should be all about. Corporations have made many of these artists soulless individuals who capitulate at every turn just so that they can earn a dollar.

This has absolutely killed the Hip Hop industry. The corporations are all in collusion against the poor artists (who lack the backbone to stand strong) to exploit him until no more money can be made off the artist.

Transistioning a little Bit

I though it was strange that I was in foot locker about a month ago and what I saw on the sales rack and bend was many products but amongst this were G-Unit products.

Now I understand accounting and inventory processing but the G-Unit product just looked out of place to me being amongst these other products for sale at a 30 and 40 percent discount. As I paid for my Nike Tennis and shorts, I asked the clerk does the G-Unit product still move. He said not like it use too. Then he offered additional information stating that the Sean Carters are not moving much anymore either. I then asked about the Hurricane sneakers (Game). He said a couple of people bought them but not many.

At this point I had paid for my Nike products but before I left the counter he said the only sneaker that a rapper has that is really selling is Nelly’s shoe.

I was really surprised that he said Nelly; because in my mind Nelly is a brother who is like 50 to me; they are Hip Pop artists not Hip Hop Artists.

I hate to see any brother loose some change so hopefully 50 and Hov can pick up some additional change to replace the Reebok deal. However, I welcome any departure of corporate participation in Hip Hop. This in the long run really could be a good thing!
