Yeah the latin diaspora is way different than the black community (non-latin). Imagine if all the English speaking countries got lumped into some monolithic culture (the anglos. As for the riots between blacks and hispanics in the prisons in cali, well that shit is about a culture that I feel is dead and play out it's over gang bangin. Just like the fights between the two racial groups at many high schools in los angeles. I live in los angeles and it's a lot of tension between blacks and hispanics some of it is due to immigration in which many blacks feel hispanics undercut the jobs. For example back in the 70's blacks made $20.00 an hour working at auto body shops now those jobs are done by hispanics for about $8.00 an hour. Big business used hispanics to save money. Example if your a big business you would rather pay less to make more. And thats what happened in cali the greed of the big business came into play so some of the tension is there from that also. But we brothas and sistas must understand los angeles use to be mexico so due to high birth rates hispanics mostly mexican are taken their city back. In 1970 hispanics was 15% of the population in los angeles now they are 44% of the popualation there they past up the whites who are now 31% of the population and in 1970 whites were 70% of los angeles but thats another topic.
So there you have the reason for this and sadly not a lot of mexicans and blacks riding with each other like in new york the blacks and the ricans ride with each other the same in florida too but maybe it's because ricans respect their culture but they also have some black in their culture too. Latinos need to take matters into their own hands, support media that is speaking to them with high standards in content and presentation. Latinos are part of mainstream and should demand the same respect. The booming segment of the hispanic market is the english speaking, young adult. Latinos need to document their interests, views, their existence, they dont need anyone doing it for them. Their experience is too unique, ties to outside countries, yet completely acculturated, black, white, asian, catholic, jewish, foreign, domestic, completely universal. We need to support folks that are raising the bar in this market via all industries.

I was born and raised in Orange County, CA. My grandparents from my Mom's side came from Mex. I am 33 now, but have been around to see a lot of the migration of Latinos, Asians and unfortunately Muslims. I can say that I will always prefer Hispanics, Blacks and even Asians over Muslims from the middle east. There are many differences between the Latino races, however one thing seems to be common in all of them, they are not know for their love of reading. This is just a generalization.
