There's two new blogs that are making a commotion in the Hip-Hop media circle- The Bible of Hip-Hop, which got its start bashing The Source, and Bitter Vibes, supposedly written by a disgruntled Vibe employee.
Lynne d Johnson already rapped The Bible of Hip-Hop on the knuckles for talking tough yet remaining anonymous. She writes:
"On the real though, it's like man up already. It's alright to criticize, but show your face"
Bitter Vibes deserves the same bloggy rebuke. If she's writing this about her editor-in-chief Mimi Valdez...
Why does that grown ass woman dress like a man? She is not a bad looking lady but come on now. You are the Editor in Chief of a magazine. Don't you think you should look clean at least one day out of the week?

These type of blogs, written by what one editor calls "sneak dissing haters" is not what most hip-hop blogs are about. However, with all the AIM chatter going on amongst Hip-Hop writer about these two sites, its bound to leave a disproportionately bad image of bloggers on the very people who have the skills and insight to write excellent music blogs. They're taking swings at The Source and Vibe, but they're giving me and mines the black eye.

I'm saying though, isn't that one of the dope things about blogs? That they provide a voice for people, anonymous or not, that they wouldn't have previously had? I mean if these people were going to sign their names, then they probably wouldn't start these sites in the first place. Would we rather not hear this shit at all? I mean taken with a grain of salt, it can be pretty interesting. I understand how they may tarnish this hallowed institution we call hip hop blogging, but at the end of the day, I think the good sites will far outweigh the snarky 'sneak dissing haters'
No blog is perfect, because no blog owner and no blog poster is perfect. We are all human, with different ideas and takes on how we see the world. General stuff aside, I think the blog owner has every right to decide how they want their blog site to be set up. Whether it is attacking the hip hop industry or allowing anonymous posting, it is the sole discretion of the blog owner. If one does not like it, they can find another blog that suits them better, or do what blogs were intended to do. They can start their own voice by making their own blog, posting their own ideas.
