Watching Sports, Chopped and Screwed

I was watching the finale to MTV's excellent Nike Battleground series when an idea struck me. What if all sports programs were edited in the same frenetic MTV style as Battlegrounds- delete all setup and lull, then highlight and replay all the important action.

It's broadcast sports, chopped and screwed.

Battlegrounds chopped a 2 hour championship game into the final half hour of the show. Surely the average 3 hour NBA game can be screwed into an action packed hour of extended highlights.

This won't replace the live game that serious fans will always watch in its entirety. Instead this will be an after show that can be broadcast or made available for download on the net (video podcasting, anyone?).

Some sports cable networks already do this. MSG already does this for the Rangers, Islanders and Knicks showing the game reduced to 1 hour.

See Steve Smith catch a TD pass in slow-mo with a screwed beat. Or watch your favorite HB dive in the endzone in slow mo and replayed, like he goes foward, comes back, goes forward comes back, then finally makes it in the endzone.
Definitely original, submit your idea to ESPN, MTV, BET, Fox News etc. I'd love to see Sports Center: Screwed and Chopped

Chopped & Screwed videos are kinda pointless to watch....it's fuckin' re-tod-ded yo....I mean, it's cute for like 10 seconds, but after that, you kinda get bored....I agree with DS...although I've been thought about the process of Chopped & Screwed "Simpsons" episodes...but eyy, I guess I'm not the only one...

But I think that it would begin to get irritating if everything had a "chopped & screwed" version....
