Yo, the truth is 50 is not really all that good as a rapper. he appeals to the youths misguided interpretation of whatr it means to be street. the smae way i use to idolize kool g rap and rakim and big daddy kane. i thought a gold rope chain equaled success and street cred. 50 is nomore gangsta than any other rapper out. its an image. you might not like his music but dont hate on the fact that he pimed the rap game to the fullest. he has provided what the people want. you cant blame him for that.he has taken over a rap genre that has been diluted over the years. the sad thing is that this brother will end up getting killed trying to live up to the street life. same way the streets took Big and Pac.

I think that 50 cent is a BIG Marketing genius but he is not the peller of marketing greats. He is not the so called heavyweight champion, but he has marketed his self and his gay ass group and label Gay Unit pretty good! He is one of those people LUV him or Hate him that has gone beyond limits to become a model for advertising and marketing. I suggest any young up and coming marketing or advertisment directors to take note on how to guide a gay ass name into a marketing multi- million dollar venture i.e. Sean P-Diddy Combs.

It's like this... 50 is just taking advantage of his opportunities just trying to get rich off of his 15 minutes. Remember how he was before he got shot......he was Memphis Bleek, he was Sheek, a str8 B-list rapper with some potential. He lost weight from getting shot and got aligned with white businessmen who decided at that moment they wanted a piece of the rap game. Combine that with massive airplay, catchy music, an image and there's 50's career. He will eventually be overexposed and fall back like every other next big thing. I'm not trying to bad mouth 50, he ain't my favorite rapper but I can't hate on nobody for trying to still pimp the game in some way while still being the ho. I don't think Michael Dyson has any new competition for this book, hell New Kids on the Block came out with a book, I copped LL's book back in the 10th grade, you'd be surprised at who came out with a book. The point is this you can't really hate on 50 for capitalizing off of his opportunities but at the same time jump the hell up off of that man's dick. He is the face of an industry that exploits and robs our culture.

50 cent is cashing in on the whole guns, bitches, and money thing. The kids who idolize 50 are the furthest people from the ones who claim to live it, and those who in turn, actually DO.
I guess these days it's cool to kill people, and sell drugs, and smack up hoes. 50 is nobody special, he's just making money off the fact that he got shot, which makes him "gangster". But if he didn't survive the shooting, he'd just be another dead mother fucker. I would have liked him much better that way.

You guys are way off the topic. Ta hell with Game and whether or not 50 is gangsta. I just finished the book and he says that gangstas cant be rappers b/c gangstas are in the streets or taking advantage of somebody. He said he has a gangsta past and he wants out and does not want to go back.
The book is excellent and he talks about his vulnerable moments when he was scared of guns and wasnt sure he could shoot somebody. But he learned by being around other thugs. ]
The book is really good and has a message. I definately recommend it to people who dont like 50 b/c you will see him in another light
