McDonalds and Hip-Hop, Strike 2

By now most of you have read about McDonalds' offer to pay rappers to mention "Big Mac" in their rhymes. There's nothing wrong with product placement in general (mad videos have them), but this type a deal will hurt the credibility of the rapper, and hip-hop's credibility is key to its popularity, which is what McDonalds is trying to latch on to.

This is the second time this year Ronald has misused hip-hop. Weeks ago they ran a web ad campaign with a guy pointing to a burger and saying "I'd hit that." Those of us who live hip-hop laugh because the guy is actually saying "I'd have sex with this burger."

Actually, that's not funny. That's really, really nasty. I'll never eat at McDonalds again.

McDonald's need some kind of positive media attention ever since the indie movie "SUPERSIZE ME" was released and people realized that when you eat the junk you are doing so much damage to your body. Some lame rappers might fall for this junk but hopefully nobody is dumb enough or that desperate for media attention and money.

McDonalds burgers are gross anyways, they taste like mush. Wendy's is better.

so what advertising is everywhere and what better way to get to the younger generation lighten up folks its just bussiness.

Have you ever had sex with a Quarter Pounder? No. Don't knock it until you've tried it.

Ay I can see Nelly, Busta Rhymes, Chingy, or Swiss Beats doing this shit. They all got a lil paper except Chingy, but for the right price they will dress up like Ronald McDonald and do the two step!

*hopes Heavy D gets his check for sayin' "You're a Chicken McNugget and I'm a Big Mac" on 'We Got Our Own Thang'*

I can't call it. What is really worse? McDonald's can continue using the uninspiring psuedo hiphop themes that have been running for at a decade or get authentic (maybe not the best word) artist to actually promote their product.

Call it what u want, but I am tired of major corporations using hip-hop as a marketing tool, but rather to pay people who can't rap to spit on jingle. This may be a step forward.

It is no worse than placeing thing that the artist cant afford in the video ie rented cars, jewelry, even mansions.

Was Ja Rule sued for trashing a mansion he rented to front for MTV Cribs?

haha aint ate at McDies in a long time, mostly I eat KFC, and popeyes chicken and if I eat anything else it's mom and pops mexican
