I believe Junior Mafia's explanation of why they snitched on testified against Lil Kim.The Feds already had all the evidence they needed on video, so anyone to testify something contrary was bound to be taken down right along with Kim.
Though in the same way Kim's lawyers dropped the ball by letting this case even go to trial, Junior Mafia's publicist (or advisors or whoever) should have planned against the backlash of their testimony. Hip-hop fans hate Junior Mafia right now, and many have branded them snithces, probably the worst accusation for a group of gangsta rappers, especially ones with Mafia in their name.
Here's some things Junior Mafia shouyld have done, and maybe still should do to protect their image in the media:
- Make amends with Kim and see how they can help the case. Fans are especially angry that Kim suppoprted all of J.M. financially for years, yet now none of them have come to her aid.
- Speak out against the case and lead the FREE KIM campaign. In their interviews J.M. is still foolishly letting it be known that they had friction with Kim in the last few years. Also, I haven't heard them say anything about how unfair this case is to Kim.
- Directly address the controversy in a song. Hey, it works for Eminem.
All this pr work doesn't guarantee they'll get any sales on their album, but at least all the death threats will stop.
I don't think that JM snitched on Lil Kim. What they were doing was stating the facts......Lil Kim hung herself. What she could've done is said that she didn't see them that day instead of she didn't know them...She should have known the FEDS would've had video clips and song to look @ and listen to. There is a thin red line between being smart and snitching and JM stayed on the being smart side. Basically Lil Kim snitched on herself.
