When the whole 50 Cent vs Game / Hot 97 shooting erupted last night I wondered to myself- what does Funk Master Flex think of this whole situation, now? He's the guy who interviewed 50 about Game's "disloyalty," gleefully asking all the right questions, and actually giggling after 50 gave some of his most heated answers.
Remember ya'll, this is the same dude who refused to play 50's diss song about Jadakiss and Fat Joe because he didn't want to incite more violence in hip-hop. So what changed last night? Did Flex flip-flop or catch amnesia? Nah. Your boy Flex is a media savvy guy who's been playing us, the audience since this thing with 50 started.
Even when news dropped weeks ago about his refusal to play the diss song there were doubts that his peacemaking claims were authentic. Keith at Thug Life Army saw through the publicity haze immediately:
"So is Funkmaster Flex really the peace maker he claims to be? So let me get this straight- to play a track that has beef on it is wrong. But, to do a half hour long interview on beef and go into 50’s beef with each person on the track is alright? ...Flex even said it in the interview “your headed into this new album with a lot of marketing and promotion.†That’s exactly what this interview was about...I also don’t believe that playing the record that night on Flex’s show was ever part of the plan. It was just another Publicity Stunt on the long list of 50 Cent stunts. Which I am sure there will be more of before the album comes out."And just as Flex hoped, this new event has sparked a firestorm of controversy which immediately spread on the news and to bloggers (like Jay Smooth, Oliver, Bol, Haze, Metalface, & Kris Ex).
A win/win publicity stunt for everyone, right? Yeah, for everyone except the toy soldiers who got shot and did the shooting last night.
People, I'm done with Flex and Hot 97, the same way I gave up on the Source years ago. And they wonder why real heads keep protesting against them.
Hey genius it was already stated that when 50 was at hot 97 talking about "Piggy Bank" he didn't have it with him.

50 Cent is just as so-so rapper, he really needs all the hype he can get to sell his records. His last record had the "He got shot 9 times/Dr Dre/Eminem" hype, and I think the ni99a is afraid that he won't sell as much records as the last time.
