Goya spills the beans . . .

Dat Dude:
Props are in order for the big homie Pitbull. I gotta admit I was a bit suspect when I heard he was gonna have a Mun2 series but when I peeped Pitbull's La Esquina last week I was pleasantly surprised. It was only the first show but it was funny, different and very spicish. Me like. Check it tonight at 10 PM on Mun2.

Dat Dude:

Get ready for El Cangri.
“I worked with Fergie, which y’all already heard on ‘Impacto.’ I also have a dope hip-hop track produced by Akon and featuring Akon. I have a cool collabo with will.i.am which is called ‘Hop on a Plane to PR,’” Daddy Yankee told SOHH.com. “I have Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls and my associate from Puerto Rico, Hector El Father, who you know is family. I have a joint with Jim Jones and that track is going to be the lead single from my soundtrack that I’m releasing four months after I release El Cartel. The soundtrack for my movie Talento del Barrio.” More quotes to come…

Whatever the case is, whether he decked Cam’ron or just stared him down, Tru-Life needs to drop a damn album. All this nonsense and no official release. Give us more than Dipset disses we know you got it in ya. Oh and btw Tru did prolly smack Cam but we’ll never know cuz he don’t snitch.

Dat Dude:
I caught up with Zion to talk about his new album, The Perfect Melody. If it’s anything like that ear crack of a song “The Way She Moves,” he has a megahit in store for us.

“The album is gonna be pretty much in Spanglish. I did a song called ‘Money,’ produced by Play-n-Skillz,” Zion told SOHH.com. “That’s gonna be the second single after the Akon song. That’ll probably crossover into the urban stations. I have pop, slow jams, R&B , cumbia, vallenato, reggae ton and bounce all on this album. I know that everyone is going to like this album. Everything with God in front.”

Nore's kind of late on this hating on Def Jam bandwagon. Especially since he left the imprint and is grinding on some new ish. You heard the track (“Shame on You”) but just live and let live. Concentrate on coming back hard. I know you got it in you.

Dat Dude:
Been wondering about good ol’ Tego Calderon? Well I have so I caught up with El Abayarde for a couple. Check what he told me about his new album, I mean albums.

Tego_album.jpg

“I’ll give in my album [to the record label] on April 20. I’m not going to do what people expect of me,” says Tego to SOHH.com. “I’m going to drop two albums before the year is over. On April 20 I’m giving the finished product to [the label] and I think it’ll be out in June. It’s untitled as of now. I might even title it untitled. It’s going to come out hand in hand with Illegal Tender. The songs from the film will also be on my album.”

Dat Dude Dos: El Cangri’s official release date is here. El Cartel: The Big Boss will drop on June 5, and includes Fergie, Jim Jones, from The Pussycat Dolls, Akon, and will.i.am. The latter will also produce, along with reggaeton beatmakers Eli "El Musicologo," Tiny Tunes, Diesel and Menace, Mr. ColliPark and Scott Storch.

“Reggaeton needs a change and I’m changing too,” says Daddy Yankee in a press release. “You can’t rest on the past. This album is very different. My roots are still there but now there’s more, a side of me people haven’t seen, including hip-hop. I’m a leader in Latin culture. The album talks about the role we’re playing in society. For people that don’t know what’s happening, we need to let them know what’s going on.”

Can’t wait, homeboy.
