SOHH Latino Is Dead; Keep Supporting Latin Rap

Hola mi gente. This will be the last post for SOHH Latino. My name is obviously not Goya but it’s been fun channeling my inner 18-year-old hip-hop head. Giving props where props is due (Omar Cruz, Joell, Term, Tego, Tres Coronas) and s***ting when it was necessary (Baby Bash, Down, politicians). Blessing you with the Latina queens that make our boys stand up and salute (Vida, Mayra, Salma, Jenny). Below is an excerpt from a message I got on MySpace from one of the Spanish language MCs I always supported. His name is Malverde and 2008 will be big for duke. Check his message and you’ll know why I decided to do this blog in the first place. Either way ya boy Goya (I’m really a Latino music journalist who’s been doing the damn thing for years. Check for any Latino byline; they ain’t a lot of us out there) will continue to go hard at his 9-to-5, keep supporting Latinos, making sure my parents, Leo & Arnie, are good and enjoying mi vida con Bonita. “What's Good Compa?

First and foremost, gracias for all the love you've given me it's much appreciated. Hope you're enjoying the holidays with familia and loved ones. I'm truly blessed. I'm glad to say that my new album La Leyenda Continua is finally in the can and dropping Feb. 05, 2008. I also have a mixtape I'm going to drop in Jan. called La Leyenda Continua--El Mixtape Primer Capitulo where I take legendary Hip Hop joints that have influenced me and flip them en Español. It's been a long time coming, we had to be very patient and let the reggaeton movement run its course. There's no stoppin us now, 08 is Hip Hop!!!   • hahha i knew sohh would release you goya. im pretty sure it was when you posted that copyrighted material and then went on vacation for the weekend countless time Sohh Latino had sub-par blogs. So i wrote a complaint to the SOHH management and now look. IT worked ! haha

  • I never really read your blog, and Im hispanic. But thats because I dont think many of the latino rappers I have heard are tight. Shit Kid frost put a couple songs out I like, and Fat Joe is holding it Down, Pun forever, but who else is really good. This reggaeton Bullshit aint hip hop, its wack, Daddy Yankee garbage, Tego wack, Baby Bash OMG is wack, Tru life gots skills but you dont see him or any other tight Rapper mixed in with latino rap, either your cold or your not, I wanted to kinda see Aztek drop a LP but I cant think of no one else worth hearing.   • I like fat joe i know he is far from his "flow joe" and "diggin the crates" days but he has been in the game a long time. Ringtones or not sales are sales plus he put one of the greatest if not the greatest latin rap stars in the game big pun and he has the #1 dj out right now in the TS crew. I am not latin (i am black) so i may not know or have all my info correct it was just a thought plus fat joe is spittin fire these days but "the crack house" could have been done w/ out lil wayne and the new video "i wont tell" is good but i do think he is more south than bronx/nyc these days. his "all or nothing" album was the best i heard since flow joe and "me myself, and I" was good just too short.
