Fabolous Needs Stop Referring To Himself As "Loso"

So we all know some Latinos don’t take full pride in their culture; as a result [Si] Entertainment outed a couple of “DLL (Down Low Latinos” recently. The piece was called “Off the Radar” and targeted everyone from Maxwell to good ol’ boy Fabolous. Here’s what they had to say about Loso.

“Perhaps Fabolous wanted to avoid the reggaeton marketing ploy a lot of record labels were slapping anyone who had a hint of Latino a couple of years ago (we see you Nore). But it seems to us Fabolous goes out of his way to not represent Quisqueya la bella. He couldn't even rock a DR fitted cap in that video he did with J. Lo. (Come on!) Hey, Fab, at least consider rhyming four bars in Spanglish, just to give your better half a nod of appreciation. If not, refrain from referring to yourself as Loso.”

  • As a proud man of both Black and Cuban heritage, I ask that you not let these petty issues separate US. Blacks and Latinos have ALWAYS been a part of the same struggle, and it doesn't matter if we're talking about entertainment, politics and all the other sh*t in between. Blacks folks want to see Halle Berry starring opposite a Black actor the same way Latinos want to see J. Lo starring opposite a Latino actor. Should Fab celebrate the other side of his Fam more--probably. Does this mean he's any less proud of his heritage? I doubt it. As someone who is extremely proud of my Latino blood, I think Fab, AZ and other half Black/half Latino artists should probably bring more attention to there heritage (thank God we had Big Pun for the short time we did), but that is their own decision. It doesn't make them any less Latino. To even try to imply that it does only helps seperate our people even more. NONE OF US can determine who's worthy of reppin anywhere.

Please do not act as if all of our culture is something that we readily embraced. It was not.
