Check the new video for Calle 13’s “Pal Norte.” It’s quirky and at times weird but hey it’s Calle 13. Regardless it’s a 100 times better than the clip for “La Cumbia de los Aburridos.” “Me voy pal norte sin pasaporte, sin transporte.” Palabra!

Apparently G. Luger has been grinding for a minute. My boy HD hipped me to him and I gotta say he’s type fuego. Too many talented Latino MCs coming up right bout now it’s hard to keep up. Anywho Luger was discovered by Redman and Rockwilder but a debut album never formulated.

Don’t know where this came from pero Pitbull is apparently having trouble with his label TVT. On Cubo’s myspace page, Pit lets off a few over T.I.’s “Big Things Poppin’” beat. “We got them big thangs poppin’/TVT can’t stop him . . . Hey Steve watch me do it.”

So after allegedly stiffing Bolivia (see last week’s entry) Don Omar is scheduled to perform in front of a bunch of fake T&A. On Dec. 8 he’ll be performing at the Playboy Mansion (The King’s Ball). For more info go here The King’s Ball. The event will be hosted by thick ass model Pam Rodriguez…this is one concert Omar won’t stiff people. Well, maybe just the Playboy bunnies.

Nore is a wild ass mofo. The type of dude you would love to hang with but could only do so in moderation cause he hangs hard. If y’all didn’t know the Saigon/Prodigy fight occurred at SOBs where CNN were set to perform. Needless to say the fight F-ed things up. Don’t take it from Goya, take it from Nore.

Here’s the cover for Alexis y Fido’s next release (due out Oct. 20th) Sobrenatural. A little too much AYF on the cover and too little from the chicks behind them for me. Me no likey.

You see here’s where white bread networks like VH1 don’t get it. The video below finds a production crew for a possible Jim Jones reality show testing Capo. Knowing they dealing with real dudes they insist on suggesting what they wanna do. You can’t do that with someone like JJ or with someone who you film their “real life.” It’s simple don’t try direct ish that isn’t there and you won’t get the taste smacked out’cha mouth. Not everyone is Flavor Flav and ready to put on a show for galletas.

On his recent tour in Spain good ol’ Tego Calderon also gave some interesting interviews to the Iberian country’s media. In a 20minutos.es interview he has some interesting things to say about the genre he’s helped globalize. And is still trying to make mofos understand that he’s an MC first.

Booze and music go hand in hand like Oscar de la Hoya and full-bodied fishnet suits (uggh did you see those pics?). So it’s a no-brainer when Cuban created but now Puerto Rican made rum Bacardi put on dope concert. The Bacardi B-Live Concert will make its NYC debut manana.

And who doesn’t? In his new video for “El Mellao” Voltio has two definitions for the title track. One someone with more gaps than teeth and two: tight ass pants. We could care less about the first one; we’re all about the nalgas here at SL. Peep the video with a cameo by Residente of Calle 13.

You saw it in the SOHH news section. Fat Joe is gonna drop another album at the top of ’08. You gotta give him credit. For all the dissenters, fallen homies and just plain haters Crack is still at it. As he inked new distribution deal for his Terror Squad Entertainment with Imperial Joey hopes sky’s the limit.

Big Term released another hood video. This time it’s for his banger “So Amazing” from HPV. The clip goes hand in hand with his lyricsâ€"showing images of Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Big Pun, Rakim, Nas, Jadakiss, 50 Cent, among others. So check it: dope song, dope video, Preemo beat. By now you’ve seen the group shot of the next XXL cover. I’m liking the whole “Leaders of the New School” idea which is what happens when they ain’t ish going on. But again with all the talented Latino MCs in the game right now only one got to shine on the cover. Joell Ortiz. It was probably the Dr. Dre factor that got him in. Still with Dre and all JO landed on the second page of the fold-out cover.

If y’all know who Don Dinero is then you know he’s a) a good MC and b) speaks his mind. Below is a clip where disses Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Machete Music and props to Joell Ortiz, Tego, Voltio and Calle 13. He spoke to some place called La Manteca. He seems either very bitter or very on point. You decide.

Not really but in these new press shots Tito El Bambino sure looks like Disney’s resident rat. SOHH Latino’s got love for Tito but damn those ears are huge! Straight Dumbo joints. Damn, either he’s going for the Disney look or he needs to fire the photog or his barber. You need to accentuate your good features not the bad ones, no homo. He looks like a reject from VH1’s Mission Man Band. Ish, I need to stop, Tito actually does good music. Either way his new album, It’s My Time, features Skateboard P, Ivy Queen, Jowell, Randy, De La Ghetto, Daddy Yankee and others.

Not really but Jermaine Dupri is pretty damn close. If I were JD I would be mad tight at the director. Don’t make him stand next to Fab; it looks like JD is gonna be cradled by him in a minute. Anyway this is the third single from Fab’s album. It has T-Pain on the hook I believe and has Loso dreaming about the Flavor of Love girls. Why? Dunno. They didn’t even have paper bags. Uuugghh! This is a bit viejo pero the video and song are type hot. Alexis y Fido’s “5 Letras” has some of the finest video models this side of the “Big Pimpin’” clip. The video itself is very T.I. “What You Know.” Shoot one of dem dudes looks like Tip when he puts his shoulders down.

The Latin Rap Conference started yesterday in Cali (more info here: Latin Rap Conference and one of our brightest MCs is out to rep. Omar Cruz will be performing at Whiskey A Go Go @ 8901 W. Sunset Blvd. in LA starting at 8PM tonight. He’ll be there with Big Syphe from Power 106.

Catch one of the most hated on dudes in reggaeton now, Daddy Yankee, on concert and on ya boob tube. His new video for “Ella Me Levanto” is out.

In this xxlmag.com interview JJ lets it ride on everything. He even said his next album will be a “masterpiece.” Easy now! You gotta be a dope MC to do so, JJ; you just a great entertainer/character.

No, Mr. Jim Dirt aka Jim Jones ain’t signing with Fiddy. It would be ridiculous. Sorta like a B-version of when Nas signed to Jay-Z. The buzz came from JJ accepting an offer to be interviewed by 50 on BET’s Rap City (which happened last week and air this one). Anyway JJ caught up with a couple of sites to clear the air about all this BS rumors going around.

Nore’s always good for some outlandish or funny ass quotes. And he didn’t disappoint when [Sí] Entertainment caught up with him recently. He talked about his new album Noreality, the reggaeton movement and about being Latino. Below are some excerpts for the rest go to Nore on [Sí]

Someone is f***ing around with Tego Calderon. Dunno who it is but someone definitely is pulling a “No Vaseline” moment on the god. You see his latest album El Abayarde Contra-Ataca had little to no promotion from his label WEA, which includes Atlantic and all those other joints. Matter of fact the week of its release it was nowhere to be found on Amazon.com. Pa nada.

Grammy award-winning beatmakers Play-N-Skillz are back at work with artists such as Pitbull, Slim Thug, and Bun B, among others. They produced the new Pit soul-tinged song “Secret Admirer” featuring Lloyd (listen here).

And the Pitbull press train begins. If there’s one thing Pit does well is getting whored out to every single media outlet there is possible when a new album is lurking. In the recent issue of Batanga he had a couple of interesting things to say even though the interviewer was kinda lackluster.

This is strictly for early ‘90s NY rap heads. Remember Kurious Jorge (with a J not a G)? Sure you do. The boricua/cubano MC dropped an unappreciated gem back in 1994 with A Constipated Monkey (yes corny name). It was pure hip-hop done by right. Anyway he’s back. As a warm-up to his early 2008 release of his sophomore album (WTF? Something musta happened) Jorge is re-releasing Monkey on Amalgam on Sept. 18. But I’m being a bit harsh. I wanna say J was on some MF Grimm ish a couple of years back.

Big Term is at it again. This time Termanology is helping out his homeboy Statik Selektah. The DJ got a hot ass remake of N.W.A.’s “Express Yourself” featuring Term, Talib Kweli and Consequence. Check “Express Yourself ’08.”Ayo, Term where’s that official debut at? Nah, we understand for all good things we must wait.

While their second album hasn’t eclipsed their debut Calle 13 still have some gems to offer. When Residente isn’t rapping about sperm, avocado and such he can actually sound a smart mofo. Check their recent “Tributo al la Policia” and now their third single from Residente o Visitante, “Pal Norte.”

Need a break from all this pop candy. Even though I love it even Goya need some music with a damn message once in a while. That’s when I listen to some T-Weaponz. The trio is dropping a new album, Just Begun, on Sept. 25, and their single “The New Ish” sounds like some, well, good ass ish, mi loco.
