Now on to a Goya fave. Eva Mendes. And before I go any further I never said she was a MENSA member. According to starpulse.com Eva told press at the Cannes Film Festival that she was mad uncomfortable filming her first sex scene. She does one with Joaquin Phoenix in We Own The Night (note: must see We Own The Night). "I wasn't comfortable at all. They were very sweet and they poured me a vodka and orange juice and then I was fine,” said Mendes. “I'm very professional and I don't usually drink on the job but that morning I had a little vodka and OJ." Alcohol is there anything you can’t do?

I told y’all bout the Nore’s comeback to the real hip-hop ish a couple months back. He’s wrapping up his Global Warming 11368 for a late summer release and is still a free agent. As for all the rumors of him signing to The Inc or Grand Hustle he told mtv.com: “Maybe the rumors will help us talk about it later. But I want to do it on my own. I really want to take a chance. I'mma go out there and bug out. If I fall on my face, I don't got anyone to blame but me. If I get up and get next to God [it's so good], like he's in 15A and I'll be on 14B, then I can take credit for that.” Always count of NO for crazy metaphors.

Venezuelan prez Hugo Chavez is getting his Hollywood on. According to Time his Villa del Cine company is financing a film on Haitian revolutionary Toussaint Louverture (he led a slave uprising in Haiti and became the first free black nation from its European conquerors). The film will be directed by Danny Glover who is also a close friend of Hugo. Villa del Cine is also hoping to adapt Gabriel Garcia Marquez's novel about South American hero Simon Bolivar (another Goya favorite) The General in His Labyrinth. Hey he’s a crazy mofo but he has great taste in movies.
