Calle 13's Rene Is Making Ya Girl Mojada

I saw it coming with the Latina cover but not Rene of Calle 13 is a full blown “it” dude for chicks. He was picked as People En Español’s 50 most beautiful in its June issue. Again, I’m not the market but I guess it’s the bad boy look that they like.

He talks about his relationship with Denise Quinones and being a bit paranoid. Other urban cats in there are very few. It’s Anthony Santos from Aventura and PEP Mas Bella regular Jenny Lopez. As always there are close to nada when it comes to color. Santos is the darkest cat featured and everyone else is white as f*&k. Again, I guess this mag ain’t for me.

  • Yo word up Goya, havent spoke in a minute but I agree with you on that Anthony from Aventura is the darkest kat in the Latino Peoples magazine. I aint suprised, just go to DR or PR and you see the invinsible apartheid they got going with all the white people living in the city while the blacks and indians live in the "campo". Just look at telemundo or univision...all them kats are white like they are from Spain. They havent represented the true multi cultural face that we represent. They have been lying to us for years about our latin culture. Thats why when Tego had that "my block Puerto rico" on MTV, he hit it right in the nail when he said that Latin America still suffers from racial inequality. Im Mulatto ( half black half white) and it bothers me that we cant be represented in the right way.

  • word,out here in colombia no 1 is really racist cause almost everyone lives in the strugle, but in the good parts and shit, its worst than in the states, out here you see a black man with a car and people would be like what the fucc?????????? the division is crazy, black men got it worst in colombia or any part of south america than in the states, in my opinion no 1 from the states got it that bad at all,

    If Black, Brown and Yellow people came together, we would not have nearly as many problems. As a matter of fact, there are a number of factions in the general society that BENEFIT from the divisions in the Black, Brown and Yellow communities!

  • I respect Don Omar and Tego for acknowledging that they are african or black latinos. But give me a break, already. Why in Don Omar music videos, his leading lady ain't never an afro-latino? and the majority of the women in his videos are all mestizo latinas. Yet, he's reppin for his black heritage. Ok. And Tego, ok, he talks about the struggles for black latinos in Latin America, but yet he lives in a white neighborhood, and married a white mestizo woman. Yet, he's so down. I can't fathom that, And Aventura, I will say that I love that group, but they never rep any real black latinas in their videos. But, I will give Pitbull credit, he will put black women or black latinas in his videos.
