2Pac-Inspired Colombian MCs Got Confessionz Of His Own

Florida’s given us a lot of things: hot Latinas (from Cuba to Brazil), dope food, bangin’ clubs, and countless Spring Break memories. The Sunshine State’s Latino MC talents have been on the come-up as well. Aside from Pitbull there are some newer cats that are stepping up to the plate. Like this new gangsta rapper, Jediah.

The Colombian MC (whose main rap inspiration is 2Pac, surprise, surprise) is straight grizzly. But question is, can he spit? Can Rick Ross? Well, there’s ya answer. He ain’t the most lyrical of artists but he gets it done. The eldest of nine siblings, Jediah (which means God’s Lion, God’s Light or The Hand of God) was raised in North Miami’s infamous Washington Park. His family ties are type greasy too — his great grandpops was a high-ranking Colombian official with alleged ties to the M-16 Guerillas. Nice cred for a gangsta rapper, pretty crappy for an average Jose. He started some failed rap groups before he decided to go for dolo. As a result, two years ago, he started his own indie label, LCn (La Cosa Nostra) Records. Yes the name is tacky and overused.

Anyway Jediah’s putting out his debut, Confessionz of a Thug, featuring the single “S.U.V.,” which is about fucking in his car. Y’all Florida peeps might of heard it in the underground circuit or my L.A. people (he’s getting love on KDAY). He produced and wrote most his entire album, quite a feat for any artist. “I’m a human being. Happy, single, and mellow,” says Jediah. “But I have bad days as well.” Don’t we all.
