Would You Vote For Barack Obama If Hillary Was The Vice Presidential Pick?

Posted on May 8, 2008 11:04 AM

For the last several weeks folks have been saying the Obama/Clinton ticket would be the Dream Ticket for the Democratic Party. But that was before all the craziness of Rev. Wright and "Bitter Gate." I am starting to wonder if it's even possible anymore.

Especially because I think the Clintons are trying to burn Obama's image for a possible 2012 run. (The 2012 scenario would only work if McCain wins the election. I guess the thinking goes that if Obama didn't win now he would become the next John Kerry and Clinton would be the presumptive nominee the next time around.)

I am not sure if HRC wants to play second fiddle. And I am not sure that Obama would want Hillary on his squad. I personally think that the "Dream Ticket" is like The Lakers with Shaq and Kobe. It looks great on paper, but it might be too much of a headache to actually work for the long run.

What do you think?

  • I would vote for Barack regardless of whom he picks. I would rather see Barack and John Edwards though. Thats a good ticket. Hillary as thrown too much dirt to even be considered.

  • NO! I wouldn't because she would try to act like she was president. I mean, during this whole campaing she has been acting like she had it in the bag. When ever they asked her what she thought of being on the same ticket she would say stuff like, "Yeah I would let him be my vice president" and such...BiTCH! You were NEVER leading the race for the candidacy how the hell you gonna say "you would let him" be your vice president? This lady has some balls...

  • No vote for Obama/Clinton but a vote for Clinton/Obama and a vote for McCain if Obama/??

Obama doesn't have the requisite number of delegates for the nomination; he has no presumptive lock on the nomination. All remaining states must vote and then the superdelegates select the best experienced, qualified candidate for the presidency using their independent judgment and that is Sen. Clinton. Qualifications and the future of America should trump Obama's skin color and fear of alienating the black race or any other group.

  • I agree w/ 1919sohh.
Hillary would try to act like a president instead of a Vice President. and you know Bill Clinton would also have one foot in the door again causing conflicts within the White House + it would be an ego explosion.

  • I doubt I would. Part of my dislike of Hillary has been her tactics throughout this campaign. I really don't want to see that woman or her dick in the white house again.

Obama doesn't need her on the ticket anyways.

    Go Obama!

  • Obama / Clinton.......Here's my prediction if this Nightmare ticket happens. Clinton will immediately begin to secretely seek the impeachment of Obama. How? Resco. Bill Ayers. ect ect.

If Schmillary can't get her mits on the democratic nomination, she gladly accept the VP position. And that's when the Splinton machine will rev up and take Obama the fuck out of the white house. I tried to told y'all yesterday. They have a backup plan, for the backup plan, for the backup plan.

  • The Democrats will not the white house in Nov if Obama is on the ticket. It's not the Clintons who will take him down. It's the republicans. They are more than happy to see him with nomination. I was watching Fox New on tuesday night. They looked as if they wanted to get up and do a happy dance. Obama is a sitting duck whether or not you all want to admit it. Expect William Ayers to be in the news until Nov.

To answer the question, yes I would vote for an Obama/Clinton ticket. I'm a democrat. I'm loyal to my party, but I do not expect Obama to take office. Even with Hillary on the ballot, I don't see Reagan democrats rallying behind Obama. He has too many questionable connections. That group doesn't know anything about Obama. When the Karl Rove machine starts to plow full speed ahead at Obama, it's not going to be pretty. Did you guys ever wonder why Karl Rove has been so vocal with his advice to Obama? The republicans know they have him beat. The republicans have been planting seeds this whole time. It all started in Iowa.

  • I would vote for damn near anyone other than McCain but I think such a combo would be a bad idea for Obama. Far from a "dream team," Clinton would drag Obama down among Independents who find her too polarizing. Obama/Edwards is the ticket.

  • I would reluctantly vote for Obama if Hillary was his Vice Prez... I'm gonna vote for him no matter what, but it would be a bad move to select her and I think he's way too smart to do that. This whole race she's been trying to undermine him. She started this whole negative campaign against him, and it would only continue once they were in the White House. She has this strange sense of entitlement to the Presidency and somebody needs to put this white bitch in her place...

  • I would support Obama no matter what. But having her for a VP would be a huge mistake, for him and the country. She tried to distroy him with her smears and lies.

Too, she'd be wanting vengeace against him for taking the presidency from her. One political pundit suggested he get himself a food taste if he made that decision. I think Michelle would divorce him if he chose Hillary for VP.

  • Clinton would be an absolute disaster as a VP and really would have nothing to offer the ticket. The fact that she ran unopposed in the Michigan primary and 40% of the people voted still against her is not a good sign. Obama got a large number of primary votes just because so many people are sick of the Clintons.

Plus, poor Obama would probably die in some tragic "accident" or plane crash leaving her in power. Not a good idea and better to remove the temptation.

  • HELL no I wouldn't vote for that ticket. Clinton/Obama, Obama/Clinton, does not matter. Now Obama/Richardson? That would be a great combination.

  • I believe Obama needs Clinton to get the women vote.He would ignore the strong feelings of this block at his own peril.I want Obama to win, however strongly believe that the Clintons have been treated extremely unfairly by the national media, and that has left a great number of women outraged,(there is a whole industry built on Clinton bashing)and to disregard this sentiment would add to Obama's image as an unsympathetic out of touch candidate.

  • It ain't gonna happen! It would undermine what he is trying to do. He is calling for unity and she has been trying to break us apart. She is the opitomy of a negative candidate. When she has lied herself into a corner, it is somehow his fault. He would not be able to trust her and frankly, I think he would need protection at all times if that were the case.
I do like the Ron Paul idea that I just saw. That would be the real dream alright! I also like John Edwards although he has been dragging his feet.
The media is up to republican tricks by putting the question out there. There is no question. Not an option for Hillary. I am sure that Bill would love to be in the white house with Michelle though...lol.
Because she is a woman means nothing to me as a woman. I care about the country, not gender. She is classic neurotic. I am not trying to be mean, in fact, before I was informed, I backed her. I hope that he is prepared to say no. Michelle has expressed views that Barack will not, so I feel confident that it will not happen. Ron Paul!

  • I wish to address CRAT3, you can forget about a ticket with Clinton/Obama. She will not win the nomination, do the math. Her campaign is 20 million dollars in debt, and on the verge of being suited. I call that lack of experience. She have had to fund her campaign 11.5 million dollars of her own money, again lack of experience. Just because she was the First Lady once upon a time, and a Senator from New York does not say she have more experience that Senator Obama. If she can't run her own presidental campaign, how then can she run the White House? The answer is she can't. So you go ahead and vote for Senator McCain, a third term George Bush. There are those who can see the truth and make a difference and then there are those who are just simply out of touch with reality, they are called racist, you have a great day.

  • Hell no--Barack has some people fooled. But remember a few years back, he had an identity crisis and said that he was NOT BLACK --he was part African and part White. He was in Los Angeles when he said it! How quickly we forget! If he thought saying that he was green would get him elected--THAT'S WHAT HE WOULD SAID. Wake up people!
