I said this in a post earlier today, but I really think the Clintons are trying to destroy the Democratic party. The New York Times is reporting that Hillary Clinton is making comments that are not only racially divisive, but are meant to undermine Obama's ability to reach out to white working class voters.
Check out the quote:
I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on,” she said in the interview, citing an article by The Associated Press. It “found how Senator Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”
“There’s a pattern emerging here,” she said....These are the people you have to win if you’re a Democrat in sufficient numbers to actually win the election. Everybody knows that,
Now, I don't know about you but I am starting to see a pattern here. Especially when you have Clinton surrogates like suddenly Paul Begala playing the race card on the cable news channels.
Check out this video of Paul Begala and Donna Brazile debating about race on CNN:
If you ask me talking points like this are a very selfish and short sighted strategy to influence super delegates to switch their vote from Obama to Clinton. It seems the Clintons care more about their personal gain than the Democratic Party.
Comments
i agree with the sista white ppl may not realize it but they tend to do that all the time.like rev. wright's comment now i understand if white ppl do get it when black ppl say white folks most likely we are talking about the government and not joe six-pack but when we say america we mean the ppl in charge as well. but when wright says america and the media says he's talking about white joe regular men that's racist intheir eyes those are the only americans? u let me know what u think america is and who its for,a slip of the tongue is one thing but to constantly beat it over ppl's head is nothing short of racism
NEWSFLASH......she's tryin to win! that's the point! There's so much doe on the line, i'd play the race card too, or any other card for that matter. If you think these people (including obama) are running for pres. out of genuine "Love for America", i have a bridge to sell you! Also, like i always say, these are the same clintons that black america loved 10 years ago...now they're racist?
i dont know about yall but that white dude has a very inlfated head...and had the nerve to call people that went to college egg heads hahahahaha with his the MASK head hahahaha
JUST MARK MY WORDS YALL. IF THIS SHIT FAL;L THROUGH THE GROUND AND MCCAIN BECOMES PRESIDENT THEN I WILL BE MOVING OUT OF THE US PERMANANTLY. GERMANY HERE I COME!!! QOUTE THAT TOO!!!
that broad is finished. shes throwing dirt in the face of all black people that strive for a change in modern government. if she were a republican, she would already be on the november ballot. but shes not. its like harlem nowadays, they feel that because white ppl now live there, its a better place. bullshit. vote obama. new politics, new voice, new america. that quote is trademarked
NEWSFLASH: Detroit...The CLINTON'S HAVE BEEN RACIST...they never cared about blue collar African Americans, which is evident in this campaign..the only reason they "catered" (I use that word as loosely as possible) to the African American vote is because of the support that Pres Clinton received from African Americans during his reign..He was endorsed by black preachers and black politicians alike...now that Obama came into the picture, their campaign has shifted from the poor and working class African Americans to the working class white Americans. Had Obama been a white man, Hillary's campaign would not be focusing on working class white americans, because they would believe they would already have their vote. The campaign would be on the tone of violence, welfare reform, infant mortality rates, and a myriad of other issues that affect the Black community.

Let's take a closer look at who's really qualified and or who's really
working for the good of all of us in the Senate. Obama or Clinton.
Records of these two candidates should be scrutinized in order to make an
informed decision.
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term - 6yrs. - and another
year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law - 20 - twenty
pieces of legislation in her first six years.
These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress
www.thomas.loc.gov, but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you.
1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse af ter James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003 , as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition D ay.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of
his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning
the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on
winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution
Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express
condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who
lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton 's bills are, more su
bstantive. 16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11 18. Assist landmine victims
in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as
protected in the wilderness preservation system.
There you have it, the fact's straight from the Senate Record.
Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so
I'll mainly categorize.
During the first - 8 - eight years of his elected service he sponsored
over 820 bills. He introduc ed
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored
another 427. These inculded **the Coburn-Obama Government Transp arency Act
of 2006 - became law, **The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and
Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction A ct, - became law, **The
Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007
Government Ethics Bill, - became law, **The Protection Against Excessive
Executive Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more.
In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890
bills and co-sponsored another 1096.
An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no record according
to some who would prefer that this comparison not be made public.
He's not just a talker.
He's a doer.
There was "NOTHING" divisive about that comment. And I'm a black male. She's right you cannot win with just students, and black folks.
VOTE HILARY!
VOTE HILARY!
VOTE HILARY!
VOTE HILARY!
i dont think im bein biased in saying that Hillary got a point when she says "These are the people you have to win if you’re a Democrat in sufficient numbers to actually win the election." i say that becuz its assumed that all minorites are, or at least should be, democrat. i am. its the white man thats usually 100% republican. republicans are all for makin the rich man richer.
and as for "It seems the Clintons care more about their personal gain than the Democratic Party." my man, EVERYBODY is out for their own personal gain. thas what the United States was built on. also, like i said on that other post, u really think rocky has cut all ties with rev. wright after being tight with him for so long? hes just tellin us want the people want to hear son. like i also said, ill vote for rocky if he gets the nomination, but hes not keepin it real when it comes to rev. wright.
Cmon Biko. You're starting to sound like MediaTakeOut. Obama alienated white working class Americans with his bitter statements. He pretty much called him racist and ignorant. Hillary has gotten overwhelming support from working class whites. Did you notice how McCain swooped in to pick up those voters? Just because the polls say white people aren't mad over those statements, that doesn't mean that they aren't. Don't delude yourself to believe that McCain won't re-hash those comments. You shouldn't believe what other people have to say about what those people are feeling. The voters spoke when his support declined among those voters. Democrats are allowing themselves to be punked. The party leaders are making the mistake by believing Hillary's supporters will fall in line because they're the people who are experiencing the most hardship as a result of the Bush regime. If McCain can come up with better economic policies, the democrats are screwed. Republicans are trying hard to keep their seats in the Senate so they will go along with anything he proposes to get votes. The war and healthcare will take the backseat in the mind of those working class whites. The candidate that gains the support of those people will win the election. I'll bet anyone $50 that gas prices will drop dramatically leading up to election day. Hillary knows that her support is most likely to show up on election day. The democratic party just hopes they show up to vote for a democrat. She's not dumb. She knows what she's doing. Just because it doesn't sound good for Obama, it doesn't mean that she's undermining him.
note from biko: I've never been to mediatakeout.com...imma have to check that site out. seems like they are right on point.
I want Barack to win too,but i sure wish people would quit with the emotional responses to the political moves that Hillary is making.
It is politics as usual...
She's a competitive and formidable political opponent who is trying to WIN...
Hillary knows that the powers that be are pulling away from her politically, and financially.
She's simply trying to hang in there until the primarys are over on june,3rd.
If the tide doesnt change in her favor by then, she will concede.
This is not going all the way to the convention...
Its almost as if people are reacting like Hillary's statement was racist when shes actually telling the truth!
Whites make up 70 or so percent of the population.
So wouldnt it make sense that you should be able to carry the white vote?
Now everybody say the answer with me:
Yes!!!
Although i believe that Barack will recoup from the "good" Reverend incident because he has extremely powerful big money forces backing him with attack dogs that are going to rip John Mcain to shreds,i just believe that hillary is doing what she has to do NOW.
And expect her to chill out on the direct Obama attacks because then the super delegates will make a move on her before june,3rd...
She's greedy, selfish, egotistical, and somewhat delusional....I never knew she was such a clown!!!!!!
ayo Biko, have you seen the new Time cover??

Obama Camp: We'll Win The Nomination On May 20
Reporting Mike Flannery CHICAGO (CBS) ― It looks like the end is near for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.
CBS 2 has learned that Barack Obama is ready to celebrate winning the Democratic nomination for president on May 20, the day two more states hold their primaries.
CBS 2 Political Editor Mike Flannery reports on that day, Obama expects to cross a threshold that, his aides say in the past, has always guaranteed the Democratic nomination.
He expects to have collected a majority of the pledged convention delegates.
On Capitol Hill Thursday, his colleagues gave him the star treatment.
Reporters often follow Obama through the U.S. Capitol, but when the Illinois senator stepped onto the floor of the House of Representatives during a vote Congressional colleagues surrounded him.
Among those offering congratulations on Obama's strong showing Tuesday were several so-far uncommitted superdelegates, people who will ultimately decide the winner of the close contest between Obama and Clinton.
"I think my main message is whichever way you want to go, the sooner that the superdelegates make their decision, the sooner we'll have a sense of who the nominee will be and the sooner we can focus on John McCain," Obama said.
As Obama shifts his focus to the likely Republican nominee, at his campaign headquarters on Michigan Avenue campaign workers are planning a big celebration for the evening of May 20, when votes will be counted in Kentucky and Oregon and they expect Obama will have clinched a majority of the elected, pledged delegates.
"We are building toward that day when we can claim a majority of the pledged delegates, and we believe that's going to be on May 20 and I believe that's gonna be a big night for those of us in this camapaign," said Obama political strategist, David Axelrod.
But Rep. Jack Franks, a Clinton supporter, countered, "Declaring mission accomplished doesn't make it so – all you have to do is ask George Bush about that.
And that's why we have to take this to the convention and let the delegates decide.
"Illinois co-chair of the Clinton campaign, Franks said the goal of superdelegates and all Democrats should be to nominate the strongest candidate.
He predicted Clinton would eventually win.
Axelrod said that, while Clinton has the right to keep campaigning, Democrats have always given their nomination to the candidate who won the most elected delegates.
fuck THIS BITCH CLINTON SHE IS TRYING TO EITHER STEAL THE ELECTION THIS YEAR OR TO DAMAGE OBAMA SO THAT MCCAINS WiNS. THESE FUCKIN CLINTONS HAVE GOT TO GO...IF OBAMA LOSES TO MCCAIN THEN HILLARY KNOWS SHE CAN POTENTIALLY WIN IN 4 YEARS. GET THE FUCK OFF THE BUS HILLARY CUZ YOU CAN'T WIN.
VOTE OBAMA!!
Do you really want another incestuously elected president? Y'all had Bush Snr & Bush Jnr... don't make the same mistake with Bill & Hillary.
VOTE OBAMA!!
in*ces*tu*ous - Improperly intimate or interconnected
Sounds just like Bill & Hillary Clinton doesn't it?
VOTE OBAMA!!
VOTE OBAMA!!
I'm from Australia and I wish I could vote for Obama!!!
VOTE OBAMA!
Hillary has tried every trick in the book since Obama took eleven states straight. Only then did she realize that she had better use her "trump card", I am a woman, I am an underdog, I have "roots here", I like beer, I am religious (could not recite one single scripture), I eat cheesesteaks, I know how to shoot, I was under sniper fire, the media is hard on me, I was sleep deprived (5 times). What about, "I am conforming, I get the uneducated vote for a reason, I am too egotistical to quit for the party, I used to be a republican so I am helping out McCain, I am neurotic, I say/do whatever, whenever. By the time she wakes up from her "sniper dream" Obama's character and class will have overtaken the emotions of our nation. All of it. Not one particular race or age or class. All of it. We are ready for this. We need this. She and "Faux News" has used the Reverend's name so much but have yet to stop soundbiting his speech. The man said just what I hear everyday from everyday white working class people. Obama has class enough to leave Jennifer Flowers and Monica Lewinsky alone. Any others? What about the whitewater scandal guys? Their buds that were pardoned? He has not even harped on the cute little "snipers" that gave Hill flowers. He knows what the real issues are. Ignoring her and Faux News has worked. Let her finish digging her own grave while McCain is starting his.
How can Billary say anything about Rev. Wright? He visited the white house as their guest when Bill was Pres.
