Hillary Just Won't Quit...Check Out Her New Plan to Stay in the Game

Posted on May 7, 2008 1:58 PM

HRC is like the little engine that could. She just won't quit. The New York Times is reporting that Hillary is going to focus her energies on getting her Michigan and Florida delegates seated at the convention. But even then political pundits say she can't win.

With few states left, she and her aides said they would step up their efforts to count the disputed results in Florida and Michigan, where the states held contests in defiance of Democratic Party rules. If Mrs. Clinton can win the battle to have the delegations from those two states seated at the conventions on the basis of the vote there, she could greatly reduce Mr. Obama's lead in pledged delegates.

But neither candidate actively campaigned in Florida or Michigan, and Mr. Obama did not appear on the Michigan ballot.

Still, in a sign of where the Clinton campaign is going, her aides are asserting that the winner will need 2,209 delegates, not 2,025. That higher number reflects the full inclusion of Florida and Michigan, which held their primaries before the date permitted by the Democratic Party.

  • Anyone can see right thru her bullshit. She did NOT think Obama was going to be a contender in the race, and now that she's shook, she wants to cheat. She signed the same statement that he did stating that they would not campaign in Florida & Michigan because they had violated the DNC rules. Now all of a sudden she feels they should count because it is beneficial to her? Even WITh those two states, from my understanding, she still CAN'T do it - so why bother? She knows what she's doing - if she can't win the nomination, she wants to make sure Obama doesn't win the Presidency in November.

  • She can't be trusted to follow the very rules that she herself agreed upon. 2025 was the magic number from the beginning, she knew this. Whoever gets that magic number first should be the presumptive nominee. She is about 300 away. He is 180 or so, away from it. The delegate math is not in her favor. This again brings me to question whether or not this b_tch can count.

Michigan and Florida broke the rules and shouldn't count anyways. But if they decide to count them, it should be fair and square. Split down the middle or close to it.

  • I too believe Senator Clinton should concede, however, it is very obvious that she is not until all the states have had there chances to vote, that's OK; in the mean while, Senator Obama is campaigning for the General Election in November, which to me says it's over, a nominee from the Democratic Party have been chosen unofficially. So, after June 3 primaries, Senator Clinton have said she will end her campaign, I have to see that to believe it. It will be a great Party disaster for her to try to take her candidacy to the National Convention in August, the Superdelegates must then take a stand, and on May 31, the DNC will make a determination on the delegates from Michigan and Florida. I agree with the former President, Jimmy Carter, they should not be counted, they broke party rules, that's the consequences of violating party rules.
