Anyway, I blame tree-huggin' LIBERALS in this country for this ridiculous crap. They won't allow us to drill for our own oil and natural gas off the coast of Florida and Alaska. They won't let us build more refineries here in this country. They won't let us build more nuclear facilities here. The best they've done is come up with those stupid-looking light bulbs. (which contain more mercury than a can of Starkist Tuna). And Ethenol. Oh wow. Ethenol costs more to produce and diminishes gas mileage. By the way, give thanks to Ethenol for high food prices.

All of the candidates and LIBERALS scream, "We need to end our dependacy of foreign oil." Well hell, if they get the hemp leaves outta their asses and allow this country to tap it's own resources, maybe your gas won't be so damn high.

Finally, today is the 5th anniversary of the Iraqi invasion. I thought we were going there for oil? NO BLOOD FOR OIL!!!!! Remember that? Oh I know, Bush and his cronies got rich off of Iraqi oil and forgot about the rest of us. Now I remember. Get the hell outta here with that tired bullcrap.

I live in Memphis, so we're blessed that our highest gas price is $3.12...our economy is in the drain right now...the dollar is losing value...that's why i always kep precious metals, such as gold and silver bullion...if you are not aware, gold went for a little over 1,000/oz this weekend. hey blog writer, you never got back at me about april 4th, the anniversary of King's death...sharpton is supposedly coming to memphis to walk from city hall to the lorraine motel.

We should be able to tap into our own natural resources. Gas prices are higher for reasons that don't really have to do with the war (although it might have a slight affect). First of all we don't drill enough in Alaska. Second, ethanol that doesn't come from sugar costs more to produce than it is worth and it does raise the prices of a lot of crops in the U.S. (especially corn). Our agriculture industry is headed for a depression because the value of crops such as corn are becoming way to high and will eventually people will simply be unable to afford it. The most important reason for the raised gas prices is that the demand is higher than it has ever been. There are more and more countries industrializing two that are more influential in the value of oil: India and China. With the continual industrializing of these extremely large population nations, a never-seen before oil demand has emerged.
Those of you who blame rising oil prices on the war (or at least only on the war) are misinformed. Let's say America has complete control of Iraq, that means that America has more oil and with a higher supply the prices should be lowered. And what's more is that we import more oil from Canada than any other country and well their oil is nowhere near the middle east. So if we do want to end our dependence on foreign oil why don't we drill in our own country (especially in Alaska which is in the same oil field as Canada).
Plus I personally believe that the human impact on global warming is much less than people would have you believe. For all the people who talk of propaganda there is no better example than that of environmental activists such as Al Gore. Clearly the Earth has to go through climate shifts because how else would it have gotten out of the previous ice ages when there were no humans to effect the environment?
Plus if America had adopted the Kyoto Protocol we would need to lower our emissions to what they were before 1910 which is practically unthinkable and if you think unemployment is bad now, there would be an unmatched unemployment rate. What is more important however is that our emissions are actually lower than at least a good number of European countries that have adopted the Kyoto Protocol. If you do the research An Inconvenient Truth stated like nine lies that they said were true, there is a debate about human impact on the environment. And if it is true the biggest reason for it would be the methane gas that comes from cows, if we were all vegetarians the massive population of cows would be much smaller.
For all you hypocrites, before you complain about global warming, you really should stop eating animal products altogether, give up anything emits any emission (including that large head of yours filled with it), give up anything made in a factory, and live like a Cro-Magnon. You can live in caves, use tools made of stone and be a hunter and gatherer. Just so you know, farming has an impact on the environment also; it is theorized that part of the reason that the middle east has become so arid and desolate is that early farmers over worked the land.
Biko I'm not trying to offend anyone but I honestly feel that anybody who claims to be an environmental activist, truly doesn't do anything or actual do worse to the environment like in the case of Al Gore whose house wastes more energy than some small towns.

well im from michigan and drive a 95" 3500 chevy super duty pick-up ( it has a 454 big block and only take 94 super premium gas & oh yeah everything under the hood is high performance) gas is about 3.75 a gallon if i can find it too!!!. i dont cry or bitch about something i cant change i just dont drive it. Half the ppl here need to get a clue. In the words of Obama, we can't drill our way out of the problem. We use 25% of the world's oil supply, and we supply 3%. You're damn right we are looking at other means of energy. We keep throwing of our natural resources and habitats by drilling in AK and FL, the environment will be more screwed than it already is. FYI, liberals are teaching your kids, so if you really want to do something about it other than bitch and moan, push them off Myspace and their cell phones, and towards their science books. By way of scientific research and development (aka exploring fuel alternatives, etc.) the US is coming in dead last to the rest of the westernalized world.
