It is such a shame that people can base their votes on somebody's endorsement. Shouldn't people pay attention to the issues at hand and how the candidates will take care of it? not who says that you should vote for them? We're all individuals! Have an individual voice! You shouldn't vote fore Hillary because she is a woman or Barak because hes black or McCain for some other irrelevant reason. Do your research, see which candidate's policies really speak for you, I wish people couldn't see or hear the candidate before voting, hell i wish people couldn't even know the candidates' names. We shouldn't hold a biased towards a candidate because of an endorsement or anything.

Good for Jay. But its 2008 and the opinions of rap artists are basically irrelevant to the voting public. 5 or 10 years ago their opinions would have meant a whole lot more. But rappers have overwhelmingly decided to pass on the chance to be viewd as intellectual people with quality view points, and respectable opinions. In general, I don't think that any rapper has any real political influence at all. Now if Jay was endorsing a new club, party spot, or something of entertainment value then his influence would be seen.

I'm estatic to learn that both JayZ and Russell Simmons are backing Sen. Barack Obama. So am I! However, be prepared to lovely disgree from time to time and not to SWITCH, when things don't go your way. Research should be done on ways to improve our lifestyles and challenges. And then you will have something, besides $$ to bring to the table.

Not all rappers have given up their chances to be relevant in the political world. Perhaps Jay-Z, just like the rest of us as individuals, will become part of the change we are seeking. This is not just about change in Washington, D.C., but change in the human spirit. Yes, we can!!!

I agree, YES WE CAN!!. But the current rap industry as a whole is not a politically respected industry. Rappers don't even encourage their fans to vote or even speak about voting. The industry has chosen to remain mute on most issues and definitely is no longer a socially concious entity that is known to take stands and use their voices for anything other than money, sex, & violence. In reality the industry is seen as part of the problem by a lot of voters. I beleive that Jay can and will be a part of the change but until then I beleive that his political opinions means very little to the voting public.

I have been hearing alot on some of these blogs, that if Obama is the democratic nominee that BILLary supporters are going to back McCain. Now these people are democrats and rather vote republican if Obama gets the nominee. This to me sounds stupid and ignorant I have been following these primarys for sometime now. I have favored both candidates and thought they would make a good team, not anymore my front runner choice is Obama. My respect for the clintons have dropped tremendously, because not only are they dishonest but they are scandelous. When Mr. Obama gets the Nomination If I were he I would not have her by my side as a V.P. no way, no how. She looks like she would turn on you at the drop of a hat. She could'nt even handle the D*** what makes any one think she can handle the country.
