Jermaine Dupri: Da Brat's Comback

Da Brat is definitely on the horizon. That's why I put her on the "I Think They Like Me Record" joint because I wanted to get everybody back in the mindset that we about to come back strong and it's time to work.

But yeah Brat is definitely one of the next up to bat!

Just started listening to that Slim Thug album and also Mike Jones. I'm also playing that Mariah joint even though I did it. But I'm really liking the Slim Thug record. Still listening to more of the older music than the new.

Jermaine Dupri: Cafe Dupri

The cafe is something that has always been on my mind. I've always felt that Atlanta should be one of those place that operates on the level of a big city and should never lack anything. So, eating wise I wanted to put a place in Atlanta where people could eat healthy.

There's a lot of junk and trash on the market. You know if you don't watch what what you eat it'll mess you up, so I wanted to show people in Atlanta that there's more to good eating than just soul food. And I did it for selfish reasons in a way because I needed to eat healthy.

ATLanta is hot right now still. We still need alot of these underground artists to break out out from under that underground light. We need more artists like Ludacris and T.I. who have turned that corner and touched a bigger surface.

So many artists are just cool with being underground...That's what I wanted to do with this record, I wanted to bring some of the smaller artists into the light and thats why I signed people like Franchise Boys to get them from under that underground light.

"Daz is signed to SoSo Def, I always felt like Daz had that southern style and he lives in Memphis and Atlanta as well."

"I felt like the West Coast missed out on the whole Daz explosion because they were so overwhelmed by the whole Death Row thing but when it ended so quickly there were a bunch of artists that were not exploited and Daz was one of them."

"He just needed some good direction and I gave that to him. We complement each other well, he's a good artist for the game right now. And me, I'm always looking for a change of pace from what I'm doing."

"Young, fly and flashy is just something that I've always said on all of my records. If you remember on one of my earlier records Hate in Your Blood I said 'I'm the only rap nigga on MTV Cribs 'cause I'm a Young, Fly, Flashy motherfucka.'"

"That's just the overall motto of SoSo Def, always has been."
