EXCELLENCE is achieved through DETERMINATION & COURAGE. FAMILY strengthens FAITH and provides BALANCE. SUSTENANCE oftentimes necessitates PAIN, but through LOVE & HOPE one can truly realize POWER. PASSION spreads the FIRE of BEAUTY. This is HIP HOP each bolded word in this paragraph represents a song on the album.

  • I like the whole idea behind the Eardrum album. It's not just a simple album...you can see that someone really thought about it. I've never seen so much creative promotion for a record than this one. And it's not stupid advertising, it's more an explanation of thoughts. I feel sorry for all the people who don't have the same feeling like I have atm. Of course I wasn't happy that the album got pushed back often but I feel Eardrum more when I have it than like 2 or 5 months ago. It's like you discover a secret cave and you find more and more interesting stuff in it. At first you just have the sunlight...but the cave is deep and the sunlight won't show a lot of the cave. So you bring a light next time. And you can see that the cave is bigger than you thought. Next time you bring a spotlight with you and you see that there are many details in the cave...maybe some graffity or some gems. And this cave becomes something special for you. That's how I feel Eardrum atm. I've heard 4 tracks and some short versions of the other tracks...so I'm have just a light with me atm. But next time, I'll bring my spotlight!

This is gonna be one of the best albums. Maybe not everyone feels the same like me, but I don't care. I love this album already.

    one love HipHop!

  • Yo talib, I love to see that you put so much creativity and thought into this album. Rap music needs this right now. We have pretty much sucked the life out of hip hop due to the excessive repetitiveness of the "snapp your fingers I'm a dope-boy" songs. You could possibly ressurect the game with this album. Just make sure you promote it to the people.

  • This is probably the most intricate concept album to come out in years from any genre, so to borrow from dead prez "it's bigger than Hip Hop" but Hip hop really needs to take note. This isn't a formula cd (2 club bangers, something for the ladies, street records, rap/sing collab, etc.) but a project that was clearly thought through from the lyrics to song order to promotion designed to make this listener think not just hear. This is why that other guy who I won't name really annoys me, instead of using his music to promote his cd he's creating a new beef every week just to build hype for an obviously lackluster album.

Thank you Kweli, music needs this.
