Dilated Peoples: Introducing The Alchemist

I never would have thought what we were doing at 15, being rap addicts addicts, posting up at the hip hop shop on melrose trying to spit a rap and get noticed, staying up late weekend nites to record future flavas and the wake up show, would one day lead to a career where we could make an impact on the rap game the way we did collectively.

There was so much inspiration from our surroundings in LA, we just be came an extention of that. We studied Cypress Hill. We studied Freestyle Fellowship, The Liks, etc. And now in 2007 there might be a young beatmaker or rapper studying us! So with this dvd, when they watch our journey, they can too get inspired, and that's our way of giving back and recycle the positive energy. - ALCHEMIST

  • Thatz dope.. I don't personally know them good but I actually been around them threw some Venice people I know I'm not gonna name names but "he" or "she" stay on Horizon st.. N-ways Ev. and Alc. they really koo humble guys, and they both real simple 2.. I really feel Alchemist beats he's a beast on da boards and I really feel Ev. On da mic I think a lot of people b sleepin' on um.. I saw da dvd and it really represents them DP'S and Alchemist.. I just hope their style don't change cuz now in days u need 2 have a club banger 4 u 2 b out and thatz not how Hip Hop used 2 b.. So Fuck them Haters, smack them around real quick.. So big ups 2 DP'S and ALC Records for putting West Town in da map thatz right Killa Cali...

  • Alchemist and Just Blaze are my favourite producers hands down.

    I heard an interview with Dr. Dre (everyone elses favourite producer) and he was saying how he doesnt use samples because your limited to what you can make......

    The reason why he dont like samples is because he'll have to chop it up "himself" and piece it back together "himself".

    You know he doesnt play his own instruments, dont ya?

    He just tells muthafcuka's what to play.

    Alchemist, Just Blaze, RZA, Jaylib (see what i did there) and all them muthafcuka's that touched buttons on illmatic.

  • Oh yeah, Ev album was fcukin crazy.

    That was my first dilated purchase but im gonna go through the back catalogue and support the new project aswell.

  • Alchemist is a top producer. He just doesn't make beats, he's got the big picture down. His mixes are right on. Keep doing what ya doing, cause I need to hear more.
