A Look Back: Lil Kim's "Crush On You" Video

"Crush On You" was the second video released from Kim's multi-platinum debut 'Hard Core'. It was the last song recorded for her CD, and ended up just featuring Lil' Cease on the album. Kim took some time off in the last 2 weeks of recording for "personal reasons" and they wanted it as a single, so Cease did it, Kim came in for the remix.
The video was very spontaneous. Lance 'Un' Rivera did the treatment in the theme of "The Wiz" and added the different colored rooms at the last minute. When Kim saw this, her and her stylist ran out to get clothes and wigs to match! It features appearances by Aaliyah, Dr. Dre & Ed Lover and Jay-Z behind the scenes.
Personally, I love this video. It's how Kim first started rocking the different color wigs, which definitely became a staple of her career image wise. It showed a side of Kim not seen in her first videos: sexy, stylish and out there, ready to grab the attention of anyone who is looking. The one thing I wish they did not do is release a version of this video with just Lil' Cease. There was no reason to have this done, but at the same time, the 'Hard Core' cd should have be re-released with the proper version of the song as well.

I loved this video when it came out,and I still love it till this day. The song is tight, and Kim looked so adorable.
