Yeah I'm surprised too. I'm already back with another Plies video just a few days after sharing one. This time it's a brand new video for the track Hypnotized featuring Akon. Anyway Im not sure I like it, but you can make that decision for yourself if it's hot or not. So here's the new Plies video and stay after the break for a bonus throwback video!

Chamillitary Mayne!

That's right let's get a little discussion going about that highly anticipated Chamillionaire album. Yeah it leaked onto the internet but I'm not one to spread leaks for quality artists who I'll actually buy albums from. So let's at least throw up a new track on here and everyone can say what they think about it. It's called Pimp Mode featuring Bun B and I'm sure a few of you devoted southern fans have already heard it. But for everyone one of you that comments there are 100 that just read and enjoy and use this as one of their main sources of content.

So enjoy the track and hit the comments and show your support for Chamillionaire.

Plies "100 Years" & Jena 6

Yeah it's finally time to share a little more knowledge today and not just some gossip. I've got a video from Plies that reminded me of a lot of things one of which was the Jena 6. Two things I didn't plan on blogging about much, Plies and Jena 6. I admit I didn't really like what I heard of Plies until I caught this new underground video of his and I thought I'd drop it on here because you probably haven't seen it yet.

Let me say something it's a shame what rappers have to do to get ahead in the game. You have to sell singles you dont believe in and make music that you don't even like sometimes. Plies first single gave you no clue as to what else he was about, and it turns out he's got a little bit of game and it's worth listening to. Check out the video for the track 100 Years and then read up a little on how it reminded me of the Jena 6.

Follow in because after the break it gets real serious.

F Kanye & 50, I'm From the South!

That's right people SOHH Dirty is a Kanye West and 50 Cent free zone, so you're safe in here today. Instead I'm going to drop a new track on you that you probably haven't heard and let you know what album you need to go pickup in your local store.

Let's start with that new album. Today is new music Tuesday and after a few years Young Bleed is back in stores. I've already heard 3 or 4 tracks off of the album and liked every single one of them so I'm confident about this album. Bleed is a vet of the south and straight out of the boot. He's got some nice collabos and quality music on this one so get out and cop it!

Now after the break it's time for a new track by a southern Heavyweight literally and figuratively.

MTV VMA's = I'm Getting Old

Well last night was the MTV VMA's and I'm sure a few of you watched it. I caught part of the replay since I was busy watching football when it aired originally. I have to say each time I feel older and more out of touch when I watch it. I didn't feel the south was represented very well but that's probably not much of a surprise. I didn't like any of the music, let's just say it was too much choreography and Diddy for me and not enough real hip-hop making an appearance. Britney looked horrible and lip-synced even worse than she looked. Kid Rock and Tommy Lee got into a fight apparently and Dr. Dre made a surprise appearance. I saw T.I. performing a little and Soulja Boy getting Kanye to supaman that ho if thats what you want to call representing the south. So with all that said, I didn't really want to talk VMA's but it's a big night in the music industry apparently. So I'm going to counter it with an all old-school south video show today, so enjoy the videos, and check out more of them after the break.

Mike Jones "Turning Heads"

Who is Mike Jones? He doesn't even have to ask that question anymore because in 2007 people already know who Mike Jones is. He dropped his new track from the upcoming American Dream album onto his MySpace page and featured on the front page of MySpace as well. So I thought I'd let people know about it and get some opinions. I know there are plenty of Mike Jones haters out there so let's get it on! The new single is called Turning Heads and if you click here to view his page you can listen to it now.

Let's also throw it at another rapper for a moment here because it's Thursday and that's the day the Billboard charts update. A lot of you gave me heat for getting on Yung Joc, well now it's time to pay up. Yung Joc in the week after his release, backed by big air play on radio, MTV, BET and a big name label like Bad Boy managed to do what? #3 on the Billboard 200 this week, but with only 69,000 in sales. That's right only 69,000 in sales with all of that backing and push. So after the break here, check out a little Yung Joc video and tell me if you can't figure out why this dude is not selling.

UGK Still Holding On & Ringtone Rappers

This week's Billboard 200 is in and it appears that UGK has got another week remaining in the top 10 at the 10 spot with 35,000 in sales. Plies is already out of the top 10, Yung Joc didnt debut in the top 10 and that's no surprise. And with this news let's discuss a new phase of the rap game, the ringtone rapper. In the past it was singles that sold, and they still do to a certain degree but with Billboard giving credit to digital sales and ringtones, we've bred a new generation of rappers.

A current look at the Hot Ringmasters chart shows a few southern names and a couple examples of ringtone rappers. You've got Soulja boy and Hurricane Chris along with names like Plies, and a few others. So you tell me, do hot ringtone rappers help or hurt the game? I know it's about getting money, but is it only about getting money? Do you have your favorite rappers ringtone, or is your favorite ringtone not even by your favorite rapper?

Speak up, post your ringtone and answer the questions along with it and let everyone know what you think! I'll go first, my ringtone is the default ringtone on a Treo 700p, I know Im boring to have a default ringtone that came with the phone. Love it or hate it I think ringtone rappers are here to stay for the moment with single sales slower and ringtones sometimes costing 3 times as much as a single.

Rapper Emergency Broadcast System Alert!

This is not a test, this is a an alert of the rapper emergency broadcast system. As of today August 28th 2007 rappers are no longer allowed to use names including the word Young or Yung, such as Yung Joc, Yung Berg, Yung One, Yung Gangsta, Young Bleed, Young Blood, Yungstar and... I think you get the point.

In addition, today is the release of Yung Joc's Hustlenomics and we're going to leave his sales at the Coffee Shop where they belong. Only kids shopping at Starbucks will be buying this album because it does not sell in the streets. Any men seen listening to Yung Joc while driving, dancing, wearing a backpack, sweater vest or in groups bigger than 1 are subect to lose their player card. Please do not contribute your money to the destruction of real hip-hop.

Is this the face of the streets in 2007? Maybe only if you live in Atlanta?

This alert is over you may now return to your regularly scheduled listening of real hip-hop not at the coffee shop, because you know that's not hot.

In other news though there is a little bit of real southern hip hop hitting the streets today. I'm talking about the Rob G Reppin My Block Mixtape release. You can see all of the southern all stars on this official mixtape release, so go cop it in your local stores!

"Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream..."

I know when you read that title you were like wtf is dude on today with this dumb sh!t. Well let me tell you I'm just quoting a line from the latest Hurricane Chris single The Hand Clap which I was subjected to hearing multiple times at a club this weekend. I dont know why but it just hit me and I couldnt help but wonder are people really feeling this type of sh!t? Is this music, is this what its come to? If you haven't heard the track then you have got to go listen to it right now. Music like this is all over the place from Hurricane Chris to Soulja Boy, even the Ozone Awards slept on many of the real artists in the south that are making good music. What is it coming to? I've got a new track for you if you hear someone with a Hurricane Chris or Soulja Boy ringtone then go up and give them a headclap!

Posted Up and Randomness

It's Friday again so it's time to set the weekend off. I know alot of you are still figuring out how to post up a hot event that's going down in your local area but we're going to keep trying til it works. I'll be relaxing but I know some of DFW's K104 will be having a hot little back to school pool party in the metroplex this weekend. Could be worth checking out, even more so if it's adults getting down. Post up your event and let people know where it's going down.

A bit of on the randomness is that UGK stayed in the top 10 on Billboard 200 with a bit over 60,000 more in sales which puts them on pace for gold in 3 weeks and hopefully with some airplay sales will sustain themselves.
