Well well well. We finally did it. Or did we. I guess it all depends on which Uncle you ask? First lets jump into it like this. When people say shit like “Illegal Aliens”, they speak of what they don’t know. They’re ignorant to the news channel they watch. Or when they say ” Them mexicans need to go back home”, have they once thought about the fact that them same mexicans built Texas. Or the fact that technically America is home considering the fact this is stolen land.
Trae the truth and Rob G have crafted a classic. BET, Yes I’m calling you out, Should do a special on this. Or will you sit there and continue to call Micheal Jordans new shoe strings News. You know dam well there is a plot to put us against each other. Media can prevent this, but do you? Lets just watch how they handle this years racial festivities.
Ah yes the dance craze continues across the nation. We are in the middle of a lot of different wars. Cultural wars. Wars in the hood where brothers don’t understand they have been set up to feel the way they feel so that they may take it out on each other. Sad…. Dancing just gives these kids ways of expressing themselves. Helps relieve a lot of the neighborhood stress. Like just imagine the west coast without the arts. Imagine the bay without Krumpin. Memphis without buckin. New Orleans without bounce. Miami without bass. Just imagine no dancing. Pretty dam boring. Well Lil Duval has stepped up to the plate to make sure we don’t forget the foundation of this dancing.
Ok one thing that has never stopped is the good music. Can’t even hear that other sh*t they sayin. I can pull out a boat load of records that you can pretend are ok. But sooner or later you’ll be like mane that one right therrr…
MTV Names B.O.B. as one of the MC’s to watch in 2009. He’s in great company. Like I said before this year will be one of the biggest years for Hip Hop. Diversity is the word of they year.
The Underground is now rising to the top. Thanks to online platforms such as Sohh.com and all the others. Underground events and artist are slamming the Internet. Frustrating the living shit out of establish artist and music related industries. And the greatest part is watching the mainstays act like the new comers don’t some how belong, when actually it’s the quite opposite if such a stance is taken.
Loyalty to what?
With everybody talking loyalty so much lately, lets get it cracking. I simply ask? Loyalty to what. I always find it funny when people start talking loyalty in the industry. Like they want you to sign this contract that Massa gave them to have and feel the need to have you sing the same song. Everybody does this to make it. She did it! He did it! It’s just a club.See how big they are now! My thoughts, naga please! And then when you find out what’s really going on and your perspective is different and lets just say you utter this some Bullshit! Then ahhhhhhhhhhh you dun done it nah. You not Loyal!
The female rapper has been told over and over that their music doesn’t sell. Now I have to keep it 100 on this one. I think that’s Bullshit. I know there are countless amounts of stats that back it up. But the one stat that isn’t on the table is perspective. You see I think the perspective of how the industry tries to market female rappers is the wackest sh*t ever.
With everybody waving around their rags and all, the independent male in America has always maintained a stride to break the surface of some sort of weird approval ( for lack of better words). And when you see T.I. and Swizz do this club banger as a beautiful tribute to these folk that (fill in you thoughts of Louis here).
Monica, Scarface and Trae. Find out what all this means.

Ok lets get to it. Scarface is one of the dopest MCs to touch the planet. First off let me just say all of the music channels out there, all of them, if you don't have some type of special being done on this latest Scarface project don't get mad when in the next few years new networks take your place in the consumers mind. This will happen. You see if the label up that money then all of a sudden we get specials and sh*t on other rappers. So the next time I see some big special on a rapper and you start saying how great he is and how much he has influenced everybody and blah blah blah bullsh*t. If you ain't doing some type of special programing set up for the new Face project, you wack point blank. Money run this game but at some point you got to be smart enough to do both and win.
Wow, so where do I start. Well the Dirty Awards went down this year and this being the Internet you all know the story by now. And I know you looking for the scoop, but let's just say I see, speak, and hear no evil. First our prayers go out to both the Grand Hustle family and the D4L family. I get down with all these dudes and just like the Mike Jones/Trae situation there is no winner in a situation like this. I really wish they could have just meet up in an alley and got it on so that it could be finished. The Dirty Awards is a pretty well planned event and this year was no different. I guess I'll take this time out also to warn future award shows of what they can do to prevent this in the future.

Now if you don't know Chingo Bling, you will soon enough. Chingo is a marketing giant. He also sells boots, tamales, bobblehead dolls, and anything else that can fit the name Chingo Bling on. Well the Bay Area Buddy, Haji Springer, has been building an unstoppable buzz. Let the Party begin!

Chamillitary mayne, brah you ain't gotta stop. You just got to put it in they face what it is that made you you. That funk we call screw. The part of the culture of hip-hop, that hip-hop don't want to accept because of what a few crash dummy's say.......I know you not gonna play that song....... shiiiiiiiiie.
Slim Thug is pushing forward with Koch. Back by Blockular Demand is still doing its thing in the streets. And now Slim releases a new single for all you street runners. It's been 3 yrs since Slim released an album. But this might prove to be perfect timing. If anything Slim now knows what works and what doesn't. Before I get to his new single, I gotta run this "Living Without." This song definitley should have been a single with video. (in your deep voice) This should be played at high volume.

Hurt is the only word that comes to mind when I heard about Shakir. To everyone that's just a fan of this site and not in the industry Shakir was huge because he was one of us. I speak for any black male you see working in this industry that is not an entertainer and is more on the business end. We all saw our self in Shake. He was a very focused individual.
No better way to kick off the week than with one of the hottest cats in the game right now. Trae is easily one of the most underrated in the game. His flow is one that you have to pay close attention to catch his vibe but once you're locked in then it on. Here's his new video where he addresses a few things. There is no telling how far Trae can go. Look for him to be all over the place in 2009.
Once again it's on! Greg "Gate$" Davenport is live and in the flesh and this time I've got a trill exclusive for you.
Memphis Hip-Hop has been the back bone for the South for a long time. They just never really get there credit. Take my word for it all that will change in 2009. Ya boy L'Daialogue Dicaprio summed up a lot of their history in this short song and video.

Whassapnin. Yes hold the S for two seconds on that. I'ma stick to the music today. Seems Plies is ready to capitalize on that growing fan base of his. Album #3 is on the way. This is one hell of a move by the good folks over at Slip-N-Slide Records. Ted Lucas, the CEO of the label, recently revealed to MTV that Plies' third solo album is titled Da Realest and will be hitting shelves in December.

Lil' KeKe is a Down South Don. 2008 and he's still has a flow that's classic. Here's a listen at the first single, "Money in the City," feat. Slim Thug, Paul Wall and up-and-coming R&B singer Tre Vidure on the hook. Take a listen and tell me what you think?

Keeping it light today. Mr. Scarface gives you a straight forward approach to politics. You gotta love the way he just puts it out there. I can't help but laugh at all the pretend democrats that have been telling you to go vote but never said who to vote for in the past because of the hidden agenda. This year they all side with Obama because they..... well....let me not got that far. Being a blogger is dangerous as hell.

Chamillionare and Trae put it down in the city after Ike. I told someone the other day rappers will fill a void left by athletes and other prominent figures from the hood. Cham and Trae are proving that.

One time for all my screw heads out there! Mane the other day I get to talking with one of my colleagues and this fool gonna tell me, "Screw music was like Snap music it came in and fell off". I burst into laughter and said mane you really have no idea what you saying. I was gonna ask him when's the last time he went to Texas. But then I thought, its better that I show you than tell you.

Right now there are a few albums that have the street buzz that will stick. But how many of these albums will show up on the charts to truly represent the streets choice. Slim Thug and Boss Hogg Outlaws Serve and Collect 2 is killing the streets and spreading across the South. Young Jeezy is banging out of every box Chevy past the Mason Dixon.

The legendary Devin the Dude takes to the road on a 30 plus city tour. Talking about well deserved. If you can don't miss it. Devin is one of Hip-Hop's treasures and finally he might be on his way to claiming his spot in music. Devin's music does have a tremendous amount of smoky references but don't let that turn you away because his social commentary and storytelling ability are those that would rival anyone in the game. Here are the dates and a throwback just to get ya in the mood.

Big Boi and Bun B are classic G's.No time is greater than now in American history. We have the opportunity to shift the nation into a deliberate direction of change. But just in case you have been under a very large rock lately. Allow me to let two of our most distinguished gentleman from the South, Big Boi and Bun B to speak on the importance of your participation in this year's election.
