Young Joc jumped on the the scene with the smash “It’s going down”. Being able to come out under Block Ent. and Bad Boy South Joc was able to learn from some of the best and has taken his time and groomed himself into a solid buisnessman. Let me introduce Twelv also from Dallas. She sat down real quick wit Joc to find out whats new with the young mogul.
Twelv: How you doing? We notice you heavy grinding, seen you passed out on the net.
Joc: Yo man, let me tell you cause everybody and they momma calling me about this. This is something that happened in London that's on the internet. Look, I left the country and went to another, two separate flights, two long ass flights. We left from Japan and then flew to London, I was tired as hell and I told them people to reschedule my interview we was tied man we had been in the air for a day straight like for literally like 27 hours. So when I got there and I told them they didn't believe me so eventually I fell asleep in the interview. So for ya'll out there in TV and internet land who think I'm just a lazy artist and I go to sleep in my interviews, that's not happen. That happened back in September 07.
Twelv: Talk about the one of the only young executives to see the future meaning having quality fun hip hop entertainment, fun music for everybody. What's your overall goal as an executive?
Joc: I would definitely like to educate allot of this cats who coming up in the game, I would like to establish my brand and build off of what I've already started. And you know; I want to help make some other peoples dreams come true as well.
Twelv: Swagg Team sounds like a fun entertainment company. Who does it consist of?
Joc: Swagg Team right now the label consists of a group HotStylz which you already know. A cat by the name of Brian out of Florida, GS Boyz out of Texas, a cat by the name of Trayon right here in Atlanta and a young lady by the name of Shisha, Shisha's right here in Atlanta as well. And of course on the administrative side and the people who behind the scenes with me I need not say their names. I'm uh let their work speak for them, you know.
Twelv: Tell us about the new project Mr. Robinsons Neighborhood. You have pretty balanced albums, what's new and different about Mr. Robinsons Neighborhood?
Joc: I wanted to make sure I gave these people consistent records that go out. Continuity on this album is key for me and substance as well. I definitely made sure I took the production to another level on this album. You know what I'm saying; I'm having a good time on this one man. I anit persuaded by nothing or nobody. I'm picking this album song for song.
Twelv: What's the next HotStylz single and where can we find it?
Joc: The song is called Oh Yeah, it'll be on Youtube and other sites over the web
Twelv: Tell us about the GS Boyz and how you found them.
Joc: GS boys they came out of Texas. I came home one day, matter of fact its funny. I came home off my trip from Germany and when I touched down I got in the house and my daughter and my nephew was like hey have you every heard of this song called do the Stanky Leg, do you know how to do the Stanky Leg. I didn't know what the hell they where talking about, I was like the Stanky Leg..........and its history from there.
Twelv: Talk about where the industry is headed in your opinion.
Joc: It's the digital age; everybody is trying to keep up with everybody. I think the labels are going to have to start working more directly, close with the artist. Artist are just moving around faster now.
Twelv: What's this I hear about you got sunglasses coming out?
Joc: The sunglasses line, Claudio St James is my father's name, a company that he's got. He named the company or what-not. And I told him that I wanted to use his name, I wanted to license his name. My father owns the name Claudio St James. I just licensed the name and threw it to my sunglasses line.
Last words.....
Look for bigger and better moves from Young Joc man, the movement is definitely approaching swiftly. Stay on the lookout for the new album Mr. Robinsons Neighborhood. Me and Nitti back in the studio. If ya'll don't know who Nitti is, he's the cat who produced 'It's Going Down'. We finally back on track, got our thang going.
