When I was given this opportunity to blog. I said to myself, Self, tell
them mofos the truth. Do what you got to do to explain the other side
of this coin. We are being misrepresented in a lot of ways out here.
And one thing is you can't put everything on these kids. Nor can you ignore the fact that there is a lot of bullshit going on. So when one of these celebrities goes threw something you can't compare it to your regular life. Its not the same so stop saying it is. Rick Ross is right. This sh*t is deeper than Rap.
When I made the comparison of DMX and Alfamega a lot of people where taken back. How dare I say such a thing. Well that was just the beginning of what I was saying and you still don't have to believe. You will. Or will you just continue to be blind by the light which feeds you. Hey now stay calm.
Yeah yeah yeah. I go to far. Well so does this guy. Not really.
Ok now watch this.
Ok now you tell me. What we have right here is a sample of what will be thrown in your face a million times this entire year. The issue that the media will use and drag threw the street will be "gun control". When the situation unfolds. Gun control is what this story will be used for. Watch what the media does. Watch to see how we handle this situation. Because believe it or not. Too many robberies go on because of misguided young people not understanding that to take from someone else because you don't have or you are over jealous in life, is really just you admitting to not being man enough to go out into the world and earn every cent.
You see the man that put you in that mental state of hunger that you're in. You so scared of him you can even think about robbing him. But what you can do is lower yourself. Its only a sickness because we don't address it in the media and our communities enough from the right perspective consistently. It's like we being control to talk about issues in our community from one end. Could that have anything to do with the syndication of black radio. I mean I loved passing through any state and hearing several morning shows and evening jocks and being able to tell the difference between waking up in California and Louisiana.
We got love for Steve Harvey but I rather our local host. How the hell will I know what issue affect me locally and what we think of the situation. It's like am I being forced to follow certain Black Leaders opinions. Ok that was a left hook. But whose Boxing.
When you boxed into bullshit for so long it takes a toll on you. You got to be built for this shit. You nagas talk that hip hop shit but how many of yall at DMX side. I'm trippin cause we all knew this would happen.
Everything that happens to these rappers represent your sons and daughters. Micheal Bell is your son not understanding that its ok lil bro. I understand. Now some of you don't but anybody that has ever had that itch to steal knows its a bug that will haunt you. He's young so he let them old spirits catch up with him. And when they did he had to cross examine what he had no become a representative of.
With that once he realize he didn't have to do it and it wasn't worth it. it was to late. And by this time the media and your community kicks in. So now instead of support he receives backlash. And depression and self worth is at an all time low. Finally when nothing around you is there to keep the positive going and Al Sharpton and the cameras have left. Then there lies a false reality that you can't make it. You ain't gone be shit. You will always be the guy that did such and such.
And if we don't make room for everything thats out here in the market. That is, make room for mistakes. Make room for young people to grow in hip hop. Make room for music and culture you never even knew excisted. If not. Then we will be forced to prey on each others spirit. That's what happen to DMX. Where is hip hops brotherhood. Hip Hop. You talk that shit. But what do you do. And Soulja Boy is as relevent in Hip Hop as DMX , you don't feel me because you got what I call slave goggles on. You clog the pipeline for education, true fellowship, and everything hip hop stands for. Help us all and get out of the way.
yo i hope u read this your blog is corny now, everyone know that your gay nd u a feen for bow wow nd it killed your lil gay heart when he played you on the red carpet at the bet hip hop awards, u a lame nobody cares about sohh.com u killed this site smh at you man
good piece, the young generation is done, I thought having a black president would start changing the mindset, maybe it will eventually. Hip hop is a part of the urban lifestyle, gotta take it back there at get it out the hands of record companies, radio stations, tight suites, wanna be gangsters(internet included, see 718 bk). The art was lost once big money was involved, and unfortunately when some black folk see money they go ape shi_, and loose all there morals.
First off let me commend the blogger for dropping knowledge for real, keep it coming we need that particular type of information passed around out to everyone as to educate ourselves to what needs to be done in regards to hip hop and black survival in this country altogether, it is a shame to see how far we have come as a people to still implement ourselves into drugs, violence and bad healthy lifestyles; as a people to have a person of color in office for a change symbolizes success, hope and most of all advancement for our country, the bar has been raised and we as a people should rise to the challenge; right about now the gangs should do a cease fire and stop the sell of drugs, we should take action in our own communites and protect our own hoods from invaders. We need the youth to stop going to prision! We need more Leaders to lead the good fight aginst the man! We Need these bogus laws changed so that everyone is tried equally instead of just one demographic getting off only a slap in the wrist! We need more unity! But most of all everyone WE NEED CHANGE!

At the end of the day people need to realize that these artist do it to themselves. You want to floss, stunt, shine, or whatever the latest term is and do it around broke dudes then what happened to soulja boy is going to happen. Rappers promote themselves and their "supposed" financial status all on the tube, or they want to talk tough like they hold'em thangs then be prepared to be tested by real dudes. It's a game to a lot of these rappers and I'm kind of glad they do get checked because maybe, just maybe they'll come back to reality.
Some of you were so eager to get on and talk shit that you failed to realize this isnt Gyants blog, hell the fact that it was insightful and actually had some substance and not a bunch of hating and shit talk should have been a dead giveaway that this wasnt Gyants blog. All of you who are running off at the mouth about this one are the same fools this blog was about.
I agree that DMX is also a victim of the "half glass empty" media coverage on our rappers. He has been famous from '98 just like Britney and look at how her problems are dealt with! By blaming the people around her...but for D, cause he is a rapper and he's black and he's Tupac's age. He is not worth anything to them. DMX has sold over 55 million albums worldwide. People are so quick to forget success. The Hip Hop world is very fickle. Soulja Boy is Hip Hop whether people like it or not, his dancing is DEFINATELY Hip Hop cause thats always been part of the culture.
Even Hip Hop journalism needs to step up its game. Two of the biggest Hip Hop magazines now focus on beef between artists instead of moving the culture forward. White people now own Hip Hop......how did that happen??? People mistake Hip Hop for what they see on tv or hear on radio.....well thats just one (a major one) but nevertheless, one facet of the culture. There needs to be a Hip Hop revolution.
Not Just one point but me following my rambling train of thought!
