Both North and South Carolina have big movements on the way in '09, with key players like Charlamagne the God, DJ Chuck T and DJ B-Lord just to name a few. Their music has been overlooked for so long. They really represent a lot of states not only in the South but all over the country. Places like Arkansas, Alabama, Nebraska, Kentucky, Oklahoma.
Really what it all boils down to is respect for music. Music is everywhere. Hip-Hop is everywhere. The minute we forget about these places, that's the minute you forget who you are.
Black music is a big part of what keeps us all in touch with each others progress in life positive or negative. From blues to crunk. So when we cut off or in the case of Hip-Hop, when we ignore any of our markets, we cannot get mad when they lash back out. It's to be expected.
It's like back in the day when people were saying the South ain't hip-hop. Sh*t if you really want to go there, they were right. We bigger than hip-hop. We are the wide variety and diversity of Black Music. We gave birth to the beats to be broken into break beats. We gave soul to the hooks that were sampled. We danced before anybody knew you could spin on cardboard like that. I don't have to rundown all the elements you know the deal. So we gave birth to hip-hop. Our people are our people.
This is like an extended PSA which we will have a few of in weeks to come. When you say you represent the hood, just pay attention to the hood politics before disrespecting smaller towns just because you don't feel they are on your level, because we all know what happens when ya do that. You end up seeing that other level of that town, and who wants that with anyone in any town, anywhere. Just in case you need some pointers. The big homie Trapp from the popular "MIC" DVD series will lay it all out for you. As Carolina has moved forward on their initiative to demand respect.
Word has it Young Buck came on stage in support of Lil' Wayne in Tennessee recently. I'm sure someone has video, a pic, or something and will be posted on the net soon. Here's a link to the article the Tennessean published.
Buck's been preparing for his next album. I hear Buck is focused totally on the music. That hopefully means we are going to see and hear a deeper than ever Tennessee Titan. Its just a matter of time, because if you really are a Buck fan then you knew he always had a unique voice and isn't afraid to take that journey in music (to actually make the bigger than beef music that we know he's capable of -- beef in hip-hop is really playing out at this point, unless you discuss that sh*t man to man, you might as well go work for the KKKlan).
Do you guys remember when I wrote the piece practically begging rappers to stop comparing themselves to Makivelli. Well Dead Prez touched on what I was saying in a indirect way. They basically let you know there is tons of information being covered up about why Pac was taken out. I challenge all bloggers and journalist to do follow up stories on this. Which I know most won't because you will find so much info your integrity will be tested and blah blah (I quit) Anyway yeah like I said before the " Industry" has done a hell of a cover up by making other stars seem to be bigger than Pac whether it be because of sales or credibility and all that but at the end of the day. Pac was on a mission to wake people up.
Prodigy may be the most recent, (correct me in the comments if I'm wrong) to really go hard on the illuminati and such. None of you can even begin to compare to Pac until you pick up where he left off on speaking the truth. That's what THUGLIFE is really about. The media doesn't reflect on that side. You will never see any music channel special on that side of Pac. Kinda reminds me of Katrina. They gave you the Katrina propaganda on the news. Even had a few flicks made to steer your mind. When at the end of the day 911 and Katrina were government operations. Black Water was on site merkin n*ggaz only. Katrina was America's Holocaust and all ya have to do is research. (There is no disrespect to anyone in that comment death is death buddy, your family loss is no different than mine.) Here let me help you. I give to you one of the bravest black women ever to walk the face of the earth.
Now watch this video get taken down by YouTube.
But this one will stay up because its their version of the story. Man where did the freedom of speech go on the internet (the guy in the back yells, same place the constitution went)!
Juvie did a video letting you know shit was fucked up but you see what happened to his album promotions after that. And that's no diss to Atlantic, it wasn't there fault. It is what it is. Do people really see whats going on. I'll leave it at this, watch who you worship in this game of hip-hop. What you see is not what you get. By the way forget everything I just wrote and replace it with Christopher Columbus discovered America if you are uncomfortable or upset. ;0)
