There is no better way to start the week off than with that new Scarface feat. Lil' Wayne and Bun B. Got a little twist for ya'll today as my homie Greg Gates infiltrates the Dirty blog for a day.

Boomp3.com

It's a sleeper guaranteed to give you that feeling every time you press that play button. Face always steps off the scene like Sade.

But also like her every time he pops back up it's classic. By the way that Jeezy album got a few that will grow on you. He got a few joints on there that are guaranteed to heat things up once they settle in. Like "Don't Know You". Mane if this ain't the truth about the industry wrapped into one song. And "Word Play" is a direct hit to all you still complaining about the state of the music and such. Right about now they should drop that "Crazy World", "Vacation" is cool but lets get to it!

I want to make  sure that I cover as much as possible and as you all know the south is a bigger piece of pie than most. So I'll have a couple of fellow journalist do there thing every once in a while just to make sure there isn't to much of my own opinion in the Dirty Blog.

I would like to know for sure that the balance is there.  Also let me know what you guys would like to see more of. And now I give to you Mr. Greg Gate$.

Allow me to re-introduce myself - my name is Gate$. Greg "Gate$" Davenport to be exact. I'm a veteran journalist with more than 15 years in the business and I've written for damn near every magazine you can name from Hip-Hop Bible The Source to indie champion Murder Dog. Now, I'll be pinch-blogging for my man FLX  from time to time, so get use to me because I ain't going nowhere. Ya dig?

Interesting fact, did you know the lyrical war of words between T.I. and Ludacris (which has recently been deaded) actually sprang from a rhyme battle between DTP strongman I-20 and a young T.I.P. years ago?

Two O, has been fairly quiet since his major label offering Self Explanatory in 2004, but now "The Dealer" is ready to resurface Oct. 14 with his Koch-distributed Blood In The Water.

Dude is really coming back with a vengeance. He shot three underground videos with up and coming director Parris out of his own pocket.

Down South

Flicking Ashes

Come See Me Then

And he recently shot the video for his lead single "Really Like Her" featuring Ludacris and Rocko in the A.

I'm always impressed when I watch artists begin their trek in the game and actually continue to push forward instead of giving up when they find out that the music business is full of shady-ass executives, fake-ass artists and is a hell of a lot more work than it seems.

Down Bad is one of those groups.

Hailing from Baton Rouge, La., Down Bad has been on the grind for several years. I remember these guys doing features and hopping on every mixtape they could several years back to when they dropped their first album, D.R.U.G.S. (Dope Records Used 2 Get Scrilla), in 2005.

They recently released their sixth album (yes, I said sixth), The Sickest 2K8, in August and it's getting a lot of love. Their single "Out Da Box" featuring Blue Black has got the whole BR going crazy!

Think they don't have BR on lock?

Time for you to get "Out Da Box." Download it here

Finally, I'd like to highlight a Mississippi mixtape DJ/rapper by the name of Chilly C, who has continually impressed me with his elevation within the industry despite a number of setbacks including Hurricane Katrina and a short stint in prison.

After doing more than a year in prison, this guy comes back home with literally nothing but the clothes on his back and retakes the crown as the top mixtape DJ on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He also joined Nelly's Derrty DJ's crew and the newly formed Revolut!on DJ's.

Check out these mixtapes and you'll understand why he's one of the most dominant DJ's on the Gulf Coast right now.
