The 5th annual "VH1 Hip-Hop Honors" will feature a few heavyweights from the South. Big Boi, Lil' Jon, Lil' Wayne, Scarface, and Bun B, will be alongside Biz Markie, DJ Kaos, Ghostface Killah, Kid Rock, MC Lyte, Q-Tip, Wyclef Jean, Cheech and Chong, and Sanaa Lathan when they pay homage at VH1's annual tribute to hip-hop.

This year's honorees include Cypress Hill, De La Soul, Naughty by Nature, Slick Rick and Too $hort. Just think one day they will actually honor a southern rapper. I hope its in the next 5yrs or so. But don't get me wrong this is a 1st class event and I think they have done a great job thus far in helping showcase the progress of our culture.

Tracy Morgan will once again host this year's VH1 Hip Hop Honors festivities, which are scheduled to tape at New York City's famed Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday, October 2. The "VH1 Hip Hop Honors" broadcast will premiere on VH1 and VH1 Soul on Monday, October 6 at 10PM ET/PT. Additional performances and appearances will be announced shortly.

The music and influence of each of the honorees will be recognized through performances in collaboration with some of today's hottest talent. Generations of hip-hop will bridge the gap for one exceptional night to set it off with the original style and flavor that sparked and inspired the evolution of the music.

On to  this ......

You really got to watch these folks. They are programing their own into thinking that they are doing God's work by starting wars and trying to control the planet. Damn, the same can be said for some of our fellow politicians and preachers. David Banner has a new vid that just about covers both ends. In the end, we can be upset with the government and everyone else, but we also have to hold ourselves accountable.

Shout out to Sandman and Re-up Gang. Good music here.

And thanks to Dyalekt / JClass  , The Sponsor, The Akbar One for keeping me in line yesterday when I said Africa and London were countries. Sometimes I get ahead of myself, rushing to do whatever task I have for the day. So I sincerely apologize. I know that urks the hell out of you guys when I misspell a word or make an incorrect statement. And I won't make an excuse I'll just take my charge and keep it moving. Once again Thanks.

I dont get why yall sayin republicans want to go to war thats all they want cause the interview Obama had with Bill O'Raily he stated clearly that we had to go into Iran cause those are the terrorist and the other country f*ck i 4got the name lol anyway that we had 2 go and fight witht them and sh*t both these senators are bullshit to me they are hypocrites and 2faces thank god i dont fallow politics...

Flx, you're still my favorite blogger here hands down. lol

Btw, you know I have to give my two cents and here they are:

1. VH1 historically aschewed Black music.

2. So Hip-Hop Honors is like letting the Klan sponor the MLK parade.

3. How is Soul Train Awards sinking, and they have supported every legendary rapper alive?

4. Why do we get excited when White people are watching us rap the "n-word"? I think hoodrats call that "going global".

5. Until they give more than 15 minutes to a female MC like Latifah, Roxane or Lyte - they can eat a dick.

6. Did you realize that most awardees are based on rappers that had videos on MTV (you know once MTV decided to copy BET's Rap City) So rappers that came before the video era have a signficantly lower chance of being honored.

"Just think one day they will actually honor a southern rapper. I hope its in the next 5yrs or so."

This is the most disappointing statement Ive ever read on a blog. First the name of the show is "HiP HOP HONORS"...the crappy music from the south does not fall in the same genre as HipHop. Maybe if they honor a southern rapper for being the Corniest or if they had Ringtone Honors...Aside from a handful like Outkast, The Geto Boys and maybe squeeze David Banner in there, the south aint nothing but a bunch of clowns cooning themselves for a little money. I tell you what I hope for, a VH1 special Behind the Music in 5years titled - SOUTHERN RAPPERS: Where Are They Now/What Happened!
