Is Timbaland The Best Producer In The Game? Plies Defends Fashion Across The Country!

Timbaland20080908300x300

With all this hoopla about who's going to produce the bulk of Jay-Z's next album, the anticipation for albums from Kanye West and Dr. Dre, I had to ask. If Timbo's not the best behind the boards, then who?

Ya got to give it up to Tim, he is one of the most diverse producers of our time. And don't begin to talk numbers. Platinum in 16 different countries. Africa, Ireland, New Zealand, London, and France just to name a few. Well he's fired up the grill once again for Shock Value 2 and has decided to let our generation's Roger Troutman set it off. Ladies and gentleman T-Painbaland.

Okay that was a stretch, LMAO. Hey it's Monday, had to wake you up.

Now this is funny and not at the same time. If there ever was a time when they are slipping laws right by us on their march to Marshall Law the time is now. If you can't see how stupid this law is then you really have fed into the machine a lil too much. You're going to give away your right to breathe on your own soon. There are so many things going on in this country and you got time for this. Really lawmakers, you have time for this?

We could say the same about men and tight shirts and pants. Tight pants should be illegal on men. Do ya see how far these people will go with this dum sh*t. Plies speak for the peoples right to do what they want when it comes to clothing.

Timbaland gets madd respect as a producer and yeah his numbers are right but sales figures do not always equal respect amongst producers. I am happy to say that in this case though Timbo does it right, not only does he make aestheticly good music but he gets the sales as well. Props and Respect!
(((d(-_-)b)))

Africa is a continent... Not a country. Almost 50 countriez... Lol. But yo / either way tha point is there.. Tim is off tha wire.

I'd rather they arrest everybody with sagging pants than have to endure looking at that bullshit anymore.

1. I am SICK of watching men hold their pants with their hands.
2. I am SICK of looking at your underwear.
3. I am SICK of shorts that fall to your ankles.
4. I am SICK of pants that are big enough to be potato sacks.
5. I am SICK of people with no common sense or decency.

Lock these homo-thugs up and they sag all they want in County.

Saggers = Clowns
Judicial System = Circus

(p.s. there are 52 countries in Africa)

B.Thomas:

-Timbaland is the best. there is nobody better than timbo.im sorry.NOBODY at all.hes a genius.i dare anybody to name anybody better than him.and whatever producer that anybody names, timbo probably already did it so nope

-ilmao.hahahaha. "the sagging pants law". omg what is this world coming to?.give me a break.there are to many criminals out there for that bullsh**

Best producer that is producing pop hits now is Timbo.... But best producer ever - Nah! You got to respect, Dre, Ye and Premier. Tim is comparable to Trackmasters in their hayday...

On Sagging pants law:
Although I wouldn't be so quick to call it "fashion" and certainly don't want to throw my total support for those who are now being harassed, the bigger picture is how this is an ethnic-based assault... and we (as a race) are the ones who made it possible. The best way for me to explain it is that it's about Black people having made themselves into Niggers, and others taking the opportunity to capitalize on our niggedry. It's about negative imagery and stereotypes which WE ourselves have helped perpetuate.

Sagging pants (as well as sloppy footwear) began as the result of inmates having their belts and shoelaces taken away in the pen. Upon release, a regular individual would get their belt and shoelaces back and go on the merry way. But, nah... not niggers. Niggers (in the truest sense of the term) turned it into "fashion." Why? Because we have been brainwashed to glamorize criminality and poverty.

In the hood the brainwashed younguns who look up to criminals turned this imbecility into the status-quo and the image to emulate - along with everything else that portrays an African-American (rich in cultural heritage) into a half-man, half-age Nigger. When I was in my early teens, I too was plagued by niggerdry and thought it was the sh*t to let my jeans sag and put my drawls on display for the world to see. Needless to say, things changed when I became a self-respecting young adult.

And now, the society that hoodwinked us into behaving like niggers is coming full-circle by punishing and embarrassing us for being niggers. WHAT BOTHERS ME IS THAT SO MANY WILL NOT SEE THIS FOR WHAT IT IS. This aint about the right of choice or to express yourself. The shameful thing here is that so many people are going to DEFEND our "right" to appear and live like degenerates.

No doubt the law is f#cked up. (You mean to tell me they don't have the time to fight REAL crime but can arrest you for this???) But nah, it goes deeper. We've been played to fool, yet want to fight for our right to BE fools. Say word????

On Timb:
Dude is great and inventive, but let's not be too quick to give him the crown. Everybody has their day and time to shine, but not many have longevity. Give that honor to Dre.

Timb is also more Pop than Hip-Hop right now. Yet he keeps reusing the same formula and effect on his Pop/R&B/and Hip-Hop joints. The record for Justin Timberlake sounds like the one for 50, and they both sound like the one for Kanye, which also sounds like the one for Neyo. And let me not get into the stuff he does for rock/metal bands.

My biased and all-time favorite is DJ Preemo. There's no one that comes close. But, yes, his time has long gone (unfortunately).

Typo:
"n the hood the brainwashed younguns who look up to criminals turned this imbecility into the status-quo and the image to emulate - along with everything else that portrays an African-American (rich in cultural heritage) into a half-man, half-APE Nigger."

(Last one on the sagging pants thing):

If it was just about an individual who on his own decided to be carefree and walked out looking like a bum, that would be one thing. But the tragedy is this sh*t about looking like a bum is associated with "LOOKING BLACK."

Let's just compare the unwritten definition of looking and acting "White" with looking and acting "Black." You see the damaging stereotype? You see the brainwashing that has taught Black youth to associate themselves with negative and lesser images???

And we're gonna be on here defending our right to emulate negativity!!! It's not about one or two people expressing themselves. It's about an entire race of people emulating buffoonery, believing that this is part of "being Black."

Where's a weapon-of-mass-destruction when you need one?

I have to cosign what REACT said. Timbo is the greates pop producer right now, even though it seems Polow the Don is on his ass, but greatest producer of all time. Everybody know Dre's got that title. And ummmmm Premeire was not on the same level as Dre...Sorry on that one REACT.

haha is this a joke? Mr. Thomas, you dare me to name one producer who is better than Timbo? Dr. Dre is the greatest producer of all time. I was baffled to see the title of the article, let alone to actually see some numbskull buffoons support it. That is a ridiculous claim; to say that Timbaland is the best. He is good. He is talented. Not the best, however. Dre’s catalogue of hits is far more expansive than Timbaland’s, with Dre being in the game for a much longer period of time. Dre has/ and easily will outsell Timbaland when their next albums drop (DETOX is coming!). I’m also not sure of the reported claim that Timbaland has gone platinum in 16 different countries... unless going platinum is no longer selling 1 million copies… cuz that would mean he has sold almost 20 million records worldwide with Shockvalue, which is DEFINITELY not the case. 6 million is more like it. That is an impressive number, but still not the best. You can compare personal discographies or production discographies, and Dre kills him. Hahahha

As far as sound goes, on the longevity/ long-term impact of their music, this is not even close either. Dre has moved pop culture 4 significant times throughout his 20+ years in the game. N.W.A - The Chronic – Eminem - 2001. All of these have had massive impacts on our culture and have influenced music greatly… What movements has Timbaland sparked?? Maybe this is because Timbaland creates electric and sampled beats- which tend to be trendy and do not have any long-term effect on music. Dr. Dre does not use many samples, and creates his music with a team of musicians, and are heavily fueled by live instruments. I can see a lot of people saying that Dre is not a true producer, uses help, doesn’t write his own rhymes blah blah blah… but the fact of the matter is that when a song is completed, and says Dr. Dre on it, it is more than just coincidence that it is received really well by everyone.. especially since its happened so many times over the last 20 years.

One could argue that Dre has fallen off in the last few years and, to a certain degree, he has. However, He is about to dominate the airwaves again whenever He decides to come out with His album. 9 years of working on an album, plus the fact that it’s Dre, means it is going to absolutely obliterate anything that any other artist (including Timbo) comes out with. Sorry. Timbaland has heat, Dre has fire. It’s not even close.

Look out for DETOX!

p.s. ‘Dyalekt/ JClass’, I think you’d like the song called ‘Grow Up’ by Bishop Lamont (coincidently produced by Dr. Dre), if you haven’t already heard it…

“God damn niggaz, pull up your pants!
Got your drawers all out; what you wanna strip dance?!”

“… and homeboy what you doin’ in a 5X?
You ain’t that big- shit’s lookin’ like a dress”

haha some clever lines, in my opinion.

right....
dr.dre greatest producer of all time???

has dr.dre ever produced for bjork??
one republic? any rock band? any european artist??

no he hasn't hes not as versetile as timbaland and will never be,
timbaland and danjahanz are something out of the box.
timbaland is the greatest.

Flx, go take a f*cking geography class. London is a city, and Africa isn't a country. Don't f*cking disrespect the mother land like that.

Yes. Dre has worked with Elton John, Bert Backarach, Paul Okenfold, Stevie Wonder, among others that I can't think of off the top of my head. He also TURNS DOWN requests to collaborate if he doesn’t like the artists or doesn’t think their material is up to par. So, instead of giving out the exact same electrical sounding shit to anyone who asks; he improves. He innovates new material and new sounds that will help advance music- not stabilize it.

Dre also might appear less 'versatile' because he primarily a hip-hop producer. Given the fact that he only really focuses on one genre, and still dwarfs the success of Timbaland, I think your point might actually work in my favour.

Timbo isn't wack but he is hella overrated. None of his tracks are garbage but they don't exactly stick to you for a while before you get sick of hearing them.

I was never feeling that song with "The Way I Are" Keri Hilson...just felt overdone to me.

Pete Rock can make a better beat than Timbo without even trying. And that's real talk.

{{-_-}}

Yes Dre has worked outside the "box" of Hip Hop so to speak. If you don't know that it's your problem. Timbaland has produced some good tracks but they're always kinda boring to me. Right now all he produces is lame pop/rnb-acts right?

The greatest for me are: Peter Rock, Premo, Dre and Rza. No contest
