B.G. has been on the grind real tough lately. While gearing up for his next release he also has been pushing the second Chopper City Boyz album. I caught up wit him for a quick Q & A just to see what's going on. The homey Peter Forest in New Orleans also came through with a few flicks from the new Chopper City Boyz video. Check it out.

How does it feel being back together with your brothers on a certified single?

B.G.: Man, it feel real good ya know...we was Hot Boyz...now we've grown but still have that vibe and buzz around us so we can do it on an even bigger level now as men. The world wanted to see us back together...the streets wanted to see us back together so we had to give ‘em what they wanted, ya heard me...Free Turk, ya heard me .

In the song you spoke of the "motherland." Have you been or do you have plans to go to Africa?
I don't have plans yet but I'm definitely trying to make it out there soon. I've just been so tied up with everything here in the states.

You also said you were going to write a book about how to come out the struggle. What would be your #1 thing to focus on when tryin' to come up?
First and foremost, get your business right. Without having your business right nothing else will matter because you will always be all over the place. So I have to say your business.

You worked with Trey Songs. How was that working with him?
You know I fuck with Trey Songs, he my labelmate on Atlantic so it was good workin' with him. He is underrated, but once again he comes through in a big way.

"Keep it 100" has Magnolia Chop on there. Talk about how he's a different type of New Orleans soul, introduce him to the world.
Yeah my nigga Magnolia Chop is a beast I got him on the "Keep it 100" single. The world gonna love him I know he gonna blow off this thang he got a sound. That real soul sound that can't be compared, ya dig. And it's all real no, machine or nothing. Just natural New Orleans soul.

With Chopper City Boyz, how does it feel to be helping your group at the same time pushing your own project? That's boss status! You're providing opportunity.
Man it feels good. I seen so much growth with the Chopper City Boyz we dropping Life In The Concrete Jungle September 16th. The album is so hot it features Alfamega, Hurricane Chris, Bloodraw, Skip, C. Murder, and more. We just shot 2 videos "Bubblegum" & "Keep it Real" feat Alfamega. Chopper City Boyz are really doing their thang right now. Pay attention to the movement.

You also won Mixtape of the Year at the Ozone Awards, how was that?
Man that was a real good look. DJ Drama and I put a classic together and sometimes the things I do get overlooked. So to get that award was just a overall good look leading into my album. That mixtape just adds to that overall BG collection. Just another chapter in my life ya know. So thanks to Ozone for that honor.

Any last words....
Yeah mane, thank everybody for riding wit me. I know y'all gonna love this new album and make sure y'all support everything we doing down in the N.O. We still working to get things balanced out so supporting the music scene is just one part of helping the bigger situation. And thank SOHH for rockin' wit me mane, ya heard me.
