This one is for therealjaydab. This is my favorite song right now and it should be obvious why.
Years of dues have been put into building this legacy. People don't understand what is going on right now and in this crazy world the south is transforming. It's bigger than the music although the media and people will be slow to it because there's a fine line being walked. You can't see it because all you see are the rims, gold teeth and cars and such. But then again maybe it just ain't meant for a lot of people to see. Question for everyone: What do you get from this video? What do you think is being said?

That song is dope!! I think people make these sweeping generalization about fans outside of the south, like we just hate EVERYTHING about it. REAL hip hop fans know there are incredible hip hop in the south, I just don't think you can deny that there's a lot of diluted music coming out these days and with the dominance of the south the majority of it is coming from the south, but EVERY region, except the midwest imo, is contributing to it. I got all the respect in the world for the south, they're the main reason Black people have been able to progress in the country (Civil Rights Movement). Whether I like the music or not the whole genre can learn a lot from them in terms of independence and not caring about what anybody else thinks about 'em. Congratulate 'em and move on, constantly bashing anybody isn't gonna make things different.
Great song and video is alright!!
Um Back!! Yo FLX!! I see you payed attention 2 my comments.. I thought some of it was irrelevant for some folk but at least you took note 2 some of the stuff I was saying.... Yeah I don't care for this bloggin' on the net but umma do this one last time for you and the others....Umma e-mail you and we can meet up in the "H" Northside or Southside it don't matter...
I will start off by saying this yeah I hear what you saying I guess I have issues with musik that is BS... As I said I came up thru the days of Ghetto Boyz, UGK, Fat Pat, Lil Keke, Big Moe, Slim,E.S.G. and the Whole S.U.C. and Swishahouse movement.....Why is it that most of the rappers from Houston die from drugs and violence...
1. DJ Screw... sippin syrup
2. Fat Pat... murdered killer unknown
3. Big Hawk... murdered killer unknown
4. Big Moe.... sippin syrup.. overweight
5. Pimp C.... unknown maybe syrup
6. B.G. Gator... murdered
7. Big Steve..... murdered
8. Kruger.... killed himself....
I could go on...... Houston Rap Scene What does it mean....PLEASE TELL ME!!
I remember everything and almost every song... I don't appreciate how all of a sudden people can throw a award show put together by some white girl that doesn't represent nothing positive and motivational for these rapper entertainers, and producers.... I can't stand the fact that people glorify the drug life, jewelery game, sex, violence and ect..... Yeah I know I had some frustration in my comments but thats just me being Bipolar towards musik that I feel is ruining black people in the world 2day.... CNN Black in America pointed allot of things out as well and they were in HOUSTON for some of it 2..... But to get my case about Houston rapper's they are full of shit..... PERIOD!! Okay... I dont knock nobody hustle.. they can make they money all day I don't care...
Its the young youth that I see 2day who praises rappers who sip syrup, talk about guns and violence and really don't care about education or a brighter future... the percentage for dropout kids in the inner city HOUSTON "Black's" that is... Is 2 a all-time high...and also Mexican as well.... I say this 2 point out that I know musik is somehow a option but at the same time these youngsters don't want 2 learn and don't care about there future... They rather continue with the same shit and be uneducated drive a old buick or cadillac with some swangers with loud musik or probably not even that they just don't care 2 do nothing and be sorry... I hear none of them trying 2 really motivate these youngsters 2 go 2 school 2 learn 2 explain about teen pregnancy and STD's and about how 2 not be a follower be a leader.... These cats don't care..... It's a money game and a party thing.... This HIP HOP Southern Rap is very powerful and I think we are not using it the right way in Houston.. We went from not being heard 2 wanting 2 be heard....
Try 2 understand what I am saying yeah I came off wrong and I put some frustrating comments about a "Coon Reunion" yeah.. because when something happen or when a fight breaks out or somebody gets shot then they look at the Southern Rap Scene of OZONE Awards was the problem... I have no problem with having fun getting ideas etc.... But the Houston scene of rap needs 2 do better... Bun B shows a great image i luv dude and he is positive he speaks the truth.... Z-Ro I give him credit but nobody cares about being a Crip and King of the Ghetto... "Uplift it at least".....But the young immature crowd loves 2 gain style off of that... Slim Thug he is alright but just the name itself is full of shit... he isn't Slim anymore and these niggaz ain't thugs.... Mostly 85% of the rappers from Houston have this macho wannabe thug type style and they are just lame...... One day this will all play out and maybe the not so smart people will see what I am saying....
And o yeah FLX!! I can be found in DOWNTOWN Houston BOXING GYM at Main!! I train 5 times a week and spar every other day... I am pursuing a boxing career... I also work for a fortune 500 company that pays me pretty well so even if I was a site blogger everyday I don't think I will want it..... I put hot topics out here for you to help the uneducated and lower understanding crowd out...
I wish Houston rap scene could be a driving force as strong as Atlanta.. Because Atlanta is a powerhouse and you can't tell me it ain't..... I know Houston is big on the independent side but that ain't all it... We need 2 be noticed harder...
I tell you this I am motivated everyday and I am full of energy... Yes I have kids and I make sure they will have a bright future ... I am a vigilante looking for justice against the people who promote the continuing cycle of "IGNORANCE"..... Not wanting 2 succeed to higher expectations in life....
What can we do?
1.Put together more youth movements at schools for the youngsters... some of the rappers are recognized and it starts with the middle school students because thats when they gain a personality..
2. Free events every now and then would be helpful...
3. Rap style of pushing weight, guns, sex etc... need 2 tone down...
4. Talk about how not 2 shoot and kill your brother over bullshit...
5. Get more involved in the communities for special programs and cleaning up drugs, graffiti, etc...
6. Help the elderly...
Man FLX I can go on....
But the communities I am talking about 9x's out out 10 are minority communities who have young youth who struggle for a direction and can't make it because of the shit they see everyday in the hood!!!
I am finished... I can type and go on but shit... I ain't no blogger I made my lil comments earlier and you noticed because you got low ratings or just it caught your eye... Well let me know how you feel if not I understand......HOLLA PIMP!!
i agree w/ therealjaydab. certainly we all love hip-hop. i grew up on this. i have been listening to rap longer than most of SOHH's visitors have been alive.
but the fact remains: the music is poison these days. we don't need balance, we need a colonic. we need to flat out stop some of the things we say. we need close the doors on people that we know will abuse the music and poison our minds.
it doesnt matter where you from. it only matters what youre rapping about.
