So I can tell right off the bat this blog on gangs will be one that I can dedicate at least one post a week to for a while. Some of you might think this is not the place for this, but you are wrong.

I've watch the gang population in the South grow every year for quite some time. What I'm more concern with is the growing numbers of kids that have flocked to the gangs. And it would be a great thing if true education of the black man came along with your gang membership. (Maybe it is)

Gangs

We'd all join gangs if they were really protecting us from the police. If we saw a nationwide gang protest when Sean Bell got shot, we'd be down. In fact Atlanta has a lot of new gang activity within the middle and high schools levels. Where were you guys when Kathryn Johnston (90yr old lady) got gun down by the Atlanta Police dept?  When you say we wouldn't understand, you're right. In LA you got a different lifestyle so I'm learning about that and will adjust my thoughts accordingly. But down herrre my friend, these kids deserve an opportunity gang or no gang. They deserve a chance to understand more about the Black Panther party and things of that nature. I actually think gangs are the answer, BUT we got to implement education and communication as the main qualifications to stay down, otherwise we will stay DOWN.

I know you guys are tired, we all see the death toll rising I know you're tired. You see rappers join gangs for the same reason kids do coming up. Pressure. So when you get mad at someone for joining a gang, but they aren't from LA or they were not raised in it, keep in mind that you joined for the same reason, just a different location. And for those of you who are against gangs just keep in mind, when you pay your taxes to the Federal Reserve that really has nothing to do with the United States I say, your welcome. You have just joined Sam's gang. Bang Bang!

The comments in the blog I feel are more important than my post.  So please keep posting. I truly feel we can grow together. I was also blessed with an email from the big homey Dray from DAS EFX.

So check out his view on the subject and know that every comment and email I received was read and will be responded to appropriately.

"This is Dray from DAS EFX. I read your piece on that DISGUSTING event that occurred between Wayne, Baby and 40. Let me tell you brah.. From a older rapper and some say ''pioneer'' of this thing we call ''hip hop'', and just simply from a blackmans' view. WE THE BLACK RACE ARE F*CKED AND IN SERIOUS TROUBLE IF WE KEEP ON ACTIN` THE WAY WE ARE ACTIN` AND DOING THE DUMB SHIT WE ARE DOING!!

This latest fiasco that took place in L.A in broad daylight and in the presence of impressionable minors did it for me. I almost jumped outta my skin after seeing the video. I went from ''OH SHIT to OOOHHH SHIIITT !!'' . That simply means my first reaction was damn. Wayne in some more shit; but my second reaction was damn. MY PEOPLE ARE OUT OF CONTROL!! Man I wish I could have been in that meeting when the ''powers that be'' made the decision to fuck us up. How did they do it? I can see it now. Bob looked across the long mahogany table at Tom and said, ''Tom my good friend, we have to do something to GET RID OF THESE NIGGERS''. Then Tom looked out the big clear glass window 100 feet in the sky, turned back to Bob and said, ''Bob my good friend, we gotta FOOL THEM INTO GETTING RID OF EACH OTHER''. Then everyone sitting around the table collectively nodded their heads in agreement and said hmmm. Lets just stick with the music industry or hip-hop. Bob and Tom got them (the ''hip hop nation'') to hate each sooo much, that they will trap one-another off on side streets like rats.

I'm ASHAMED FOR THEM!! I almost ASHAMED TO BE A RAPPER!! But then again I'm glad because MY WORDS.. DRAY FROM DAS EFX SHOULD MEAN SOMETHING. I think Bob and Tom somehow put a ''HATE POTION'' in the water and every rapper from 50 TO 40 DRANK IT. I'm not trying to diss them or be funny, that's the last thing I'm trying to accomplish. Just the opposite. I'm Dead Serious like my first album (couldn't help it). I wish hip-hop artists would act like athletes in terms of respect for each other. I dig that about them. You can ask young ass LEBRON ABOUT KOBE AND HE'LL SAY ''KOBE THE SHIT''. AND YOU CAN ASK KOBE ABOUT JORDAN AND HE'LL SAY '' HE JORDAN THE SHIT''. Even the players that are ridin' the bench will say ''that other guy on that other team is cool with me''. Somehow they understand the gift and what it means to be in that inner circle. We the rappers on the other hand, take it for granted. Imagine 50 saying '' yeah man I'm digging that T.I movement'' or LIL KIM saying yeah me FOXY and JACKIE-O are doing something now in the studio''. WOW!! The game would be in such better shape. Think of the possibilities and opportunities if BOW WOW and ROMEO would have done a joint together. But nooo bow wow tried to distance himself as far as possible from the cat. Didn't want anything to do with em. What an ASSHOLE MOVE!! I'm not some random blogger, I'm speaking' from experience. DAS EFX DID THAT SHIT WITH LORDS OF THE UNDERGROUND.

Bob and Tom have been at it for a while. I do think that the hate potion wares off after a few years thou; as it did in my case and some other rappers I know. Du Kelly and I chop it up every other week and have done numerous shows together. Back in '94 you couldn't get us in the same room because our egos were too big. ASSHOLE MOVE!! We are wiser now!! Anyway, I could go on and on and on and on. I'd love to post my weekly REBEL REPORT on your site in the hopes of reaching` my fellow artists. They need a good talking' to from an O.G that's been there. Dam you Bob and Tom!!"

Now not to get too far from the groove of the Dirty Blog, here is the Texas MVP, Trae, right now and the Boss. And this is why I love Texas. They don't yap yap yap like the others they simply do there thing, keep the paper movin, and let the boppers do all the boastin about this and that and how real they are.

nigga..the south BEEN had gangs..im not even from the south and i knew this shit.."bangin in little rock"? you remember that shit?..this lil bullshit ya'll talkin about now ain't shit compared to the 90's, broski..

Bra. I feel everything you are saying.. we been doin this shit this way too long, its about time we lift up each other instead of putting down eath other. we fighting for shit that dont even belong to us..we talk about been in gangs.. let turn the gant shit into some shit that starts a movement, we talk about the money we makin on da streets, but how much of it is been put to good use. we talt about the govt not providing for da hood, what if we took some of that chedda and put in in the schools buy books. betta yet why dont these same gangs that are causing young blacks to lose their life to the streets or to the pen, start teaching niggaz how to read, type,;program computers, how to get scholarships, how to get a trade, how to get jobs... man we have so much power and so much resources to change our race but still the ingorance in us would not allow it,, teach niggaz that the first thing you do when you get some doe is not to spend it on material things like rims cars jewlery, shit that loose value instantly, we should spend on real estate, stocks bonds IRA,, teach niggaz to buy low sell high.. that is the shit we need ,not teaching shorties how to throw up signs, pump teks squeeze triggas and loose their life over worthless shit.. I love been black but when u see shit like what hapeen to pac biggie etc, the shit with wayne it makes you think,,,, why........?
Time for a change and it starts with the man in the mirror(oh shit not michael lol)our young black entertainers need to lift our race up not continue to show how to destroy it.....

From a Black woman's perspective on this subject, it is due time that the Black men move on from this ignorant, slave mentality. I don't care how gangs work, if it is not being used to help the Black community, then you ain't shyt!! There are reasons why children are joining gangs. But if the Black man kept his butt at home and tried raising them instead of serving life w/out parole, maybe children would have that father figure at home. Let's face it, times are hard for everyone all over the country. But this is the time to stand up as a whole and make things better for us. Stop trying to live it up at any cost and live right. The Black race look like monkeys in a zoo. We look ignorant, worthless, and just pitiful as a whole. We make up 13% of the US population; however, we lead in extreme numbers when it comes to single parenting homes, incarceration, and HIV/AIDS. Isn't this enough? Are we too busy perpetrating to either be hard, fake azz rappers, video vixen, etc to notice what is really happening to us as a people? When did we lose our souls?

I agree 100% with Dray from Dax-EFX and mopac. But I would like to say this;
ALL BLACK PEOPLE ARE NOT POOR AND ALL DO NOT LACK EDUCATION. BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THERE ARE FAR MORE WHITE PEOPLE THAT ARE POORER AND ON WELFARE THAN BLACK FOLK. "HELL", WELFARE WAS CREATED FOR THE WHITE FOLK. IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE SIGNIFICANT OUT-CRY AND WHITE FOLK CONSTANLY COMPLAINING OF HOW POOR, AND HOW THEY ABSOLUTELY HAD NO FOOD TO EAT BACK IN THE LATE 20'S EARLY 30'S OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION, THERE WOULDN'T EVEN BE A DAMN WELFARE (I.E. GOV'T HANDOUT). LORD KNOWS IF IT WERE ONLY BLACK PEOPLE THAT WERE POOR AND CRYING FOR HELP, WELFARE WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN CREATED. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THIS, THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 27 MILLION BLACK PEOPLE LIVING IN THE US, PLUS OR MINUS 2 MILLION FOR ETC. REASONS. OUT OF THOSE 29 MILLION, ABOUT 18.9% ARE MAKING ABOVE THE CONSIDERED "HIGH INCOME CLASS MARK" WICH IS, ABOVE 1 HUNDRED THOUSAND OR MORE. THAT IS A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE FROM BACK IN 1990 WHEN IT WAS ONLY AN ESTIMTED 25 MILLION BLACK FOLKS, AND ONLY 6.4% WERE MAKING OVER A HUNDRED GRAND A YEAR. ALTHOUGH, WE DO HAVE FAR TO GO, WE HAVE COME ALONG WAY. AND THERE ARE SO MANY WHITE FOLKS THAT STILL LIVE IN "BOONFUCK", "THE STICKS" THAT DONT EVEN HAVE ELECTRICITY, STILL HAVE TO GO OUT TO THE BACK OF THEIR YARD JUST TO TAKE A SHIT, CAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TOILETS IN THERE WOODED HOUSE, AND BLACK GUMS AND ROTTENED OUT TEETH. BLACK FOLK ONLY GET CRITICIZED BOUT DOING DUMB FINANCIAL SHIT, BECAUSE IT IS BEING BROADCASTED IN THE MEDIA 24-7. THEY DON'T BROADCAST POOR WHITE FOLK LIVING IN THE BOONIES WHO HAVE TO RELY ON WELFARE 100% JUST TO GET BY. THEY DON'T SHOW THAT SHIT. THEY ARE ALWAYS GOING TO PORTRAY BLACK FOLK IN A BAD LIGHT TO MAKE THEMSELVES LOOK BETTER. WHY YOU THINK, WHITE EUROPEANS AND THE WHITE FOLK WHO CONTROL THE MEDIA AND MODELING INDUSTRY, DON'T WANT TO PORTRAY BLACK WOMEN, MAINLY DARK-SKINNED ON TV. CASUE THEY KNOW THAT DARK-SKINNED WOMEN COMPARE TO THEIR WHITE COUTERPART, IS REALLY NO COMPARISION WHEN IT COMES TO A FULL FIGURED WOMAN. BUT THAT'S ANOTHER SUBJECT. BLACK PEOPLE, YA'LL NEED TO READ AND FIND OUT WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON AND THE REAL REASONS WHY WHITE FOLK IN THE MEDIA DO WHAT THEY DO...IT'S GETS DEEP YA'LL.

You know what being from the westcoast and knowing about the gang situation out here. This shit isnt anything new, the gang epidemic started in the early 90's with crack, and then the gangs were spread from there. A rapper like Lil wayne, who's been off the streets since he was 13 needs to get his ass whooped by some real gangsta's. He's the reason we got these little kids trying to act hard and gang bang, but when it really comes down to it there the biggest pussies. Come on if lil wayne is a true blood then im rick ross' son (the real rick ross). People dont realize this shit is real and active, MS-13, bloods, crips, prison gangs. This shit is serious business

bottom line is what they fail to realize is that them colors dont mean nothin when you leave this earth. i have boys that have died over this color shit and they mamas could care less what color it is what they care about is that they son is gone that there grand kids father is gone that there daughters and sons brother is gone. give it up

As a person who grew up on Hip Hop and has nothing but respect for Das's place in it I can not agree with him less then I do now. There is plenty of respect in hip hop take Wayne for example, when have you seen artists from other genres post video blogs stating how the album was amazing or the album was a classic like Diddy and Kanye not to mention Hip Hop invented the remix. Meaning more artists in hip hop work together then any other type of music ever from back in the days to stop the viloence to every DJ that puts an album out. When have you heard a Guns N roses, Metalica joint or bruce Springsteen with Bon Jovi. Hip Hop embraces the winner and the top.

And if you look at the gang life you can not compare today back to the early 90's when Ice t colors dropped Gang life was an epidemic it got the greateast rappers ever killed in the East West cost Beef. Sad to think where would be if Pac did not embrace the gang life.

What this does teach you are rappers need to be responsible with there lyrics. Even if you do not agree with it you never questioned if a rapper was real in the 90's you believed Pac, You knew Biggie was not a drug kingpin he made it clear he was telling you stories of other peoples lives he never lied he sold crack on a street corner and Pac never lied and made himself out to be a kingpin. Now a days it is the wwe with rappers like Rick Ross. In a way the blame should be put on Wayne and Baby.
Ask yourself why the top rapper in the world needs to Affiliate himself with a deadly gang. Would he be any less succesful if he was not holding a red rag when he flowed. There will always be gangs it is built into certain neighborhood foundations and like they say live by the gun, die by the gun. There is no reason to claim a gang that you are not in and if you do prpare for gang life. 40 and Spider are gangbangers first they were born into there colors wether right or wrong and we can debate how dumb that lifestyle is forever, but the responsibility should be on Wayne why claim these colors and then come film a video in that neighborhood it seems to me after the Pac and Biggie thing someone selling 2 million albums in a month should be protected better and be managed better.
The debate should be on why rappers are fabricating their whole lives and everyone crying when the lives become real it does not work that way!!

I would apprciate your opinion on this, thank you.

Let me get this off my chest, please bear with me for a moment.

I am a huge Wayne fan. I am 21 years old, and have been listening to him since he was 16/17 years old, way back when, when he was rapping with the Hot Boyz. I was one of the few people that realized the transformation that Wayne undertook before he became the most popular rapper on the planet. You wanna know where Wayne grew up, what song he really began to show his talent on? Listen to Big Money Heavy Weight, #12 "Down South". Then he did Tha Carter, fire, wasn't even critically acclaimed. Then he did Tha Carter II and people really began to listen up. Then from there on, he solidified himself as one of the finer rappers that we have this generation.

Now that I got that out of the way, as you can see from my post above, I am, and have been a fan of his since I was at least 10 or 11 years old. When I first heard the song "Bloodin" off of the Drought 3, I was so disappointed that he decided to make it seem as if being a blood has been a part of his life, when as an avid listener, it never was. Now of course, I don't know him personally, I never met him, and I don't know his life. But why, why when he became one of the most popular rappers ever, did he make up his mind that he was all of the sudden a blood? It bothered me because I always felt that he was a real cat, someone who was true to his word. Maybe Wayne is a blood, but I can tell you for sure that there are children that look up to him and idolize him due to his recent success in the realm of hip hop.

When I first saw that video with 40 Glocc and his boys rolling up on Wayne, I'm not going to lie, I partially felt that he deserved it (he wasn't physically harmed). And then I was reading the posts that followed the video, and all these people were blaming Wayne for glamorizing gang life, that he probably never led, and initially, i felt that it was unfair to place the blame on his shoulders. But now, I see that as someone that has the hip hop game by the proverbial balls, Wayne would rather try to make himself look more hood than helping to be a positive role model to these kids. He doesn't have to be Will Smith, or anything like that, but he, as a father and a powerful young black man, could leave a better impact on children and the hip hop game by leading by example than sippin syzrup and kodine and shit.

I know that this was pretty much about Wayne, and i apologize for that, but as a young black male that lives in California and witnessed gangs all my life through school and even now, I would like to see more positive POPULAR, black men in the entertainment biz. Sure there are an abundance of wealthy black men in this country, but do your kids or younger brothers and sisters know their names and want to be them when they get older? I was fortunate to not get caught up in that shit, and I hope that for the future of our race that we can somehow find a common bond amongst ourselves and begin to move forward instead of backwards.

Here's hoping that your boy will get his head right...

As for Ice T,he's an a associate and a fellow artist and I consider a friend of mine with his head on straight. WE ALL DO AND SAY THINGS ALONG THE WAY THAT WE LOOK BACK AT IN HINDSIGHT AND WISHED WE HADN'T DONE (ME AND YOU INCLUDED). I'M NOT DEFENDING HIM BUT I'M SURE ICE KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RIGHT AND WRONG. IF HE DIDN'T HE WOULDN'T HAVE PEPLIED TO SOULJA BOY AND ACKNOWLEDGED THE FACT THAT HE WAS WRONG FOR TELLIN THE 17 YR OLD KID TO ''EAT A DICK''. YOU CAN'T FRONT SOULJA BOY IS FUNNY AS HELL..HIS RESPONSE TO ICE HAD ME ROLLIN'.. BUT IF YOU REALLY LISTENED TO SOULJA, HE HAD A POINT. THATS WHY ICE AS A REAL ''G'' REPLIED AND SAID WHAT HE SAID.
