WTF! I know that's what some of you saying but I mean it. He has his personal hang-ups but when you really listen to his perspective, he's saying everything that needs to be said. Yes I know he's super emotional, but watch what happens these next few years. I don't know if I would have wanted too many other rappers representing me in that congress meeting. Some will say, “but he makes this booty music and he supposed to be a so called conscious rapper”. Go back to Cadillac on 22's he told you" Pimp my voice, Mack these beats".

Broken Equipment is the name of the down south duo that has been bringing you the up and coming animated classics on the web. I wanted to shed light on them. In the midst of all the beefs and such they have managed to create a buzz based off of their creative spin on things. I also caught up with Twinn for a Quick Interview.

Ice T admits to doing a few corny things himself when younger.

Some of you off top will blow this off as weak, but it’s where we are headed. There are so many bitch moves going on right now that it actually feels good to see brothas communicating in there own way. This is the true way of the south and west. A lot of these rappers can't communicate because their actions are determined by the person who trained them. Whether that be their parents, lack there of, or the person who gave them there last big check. Money makes these N*ggas. And it’s beginning to be obvious because the truly enlightened black man in America will always carry himself a certain way. And the typical house n*gga will also act as he has for the last 300 yrs.

Poor thing. I'm not labeling any of these guys in today’s blog yet, because time will tell and it's really about hip-hop as a whole. It’s all connected and today’s examples just show that we are on our way. You either see it or you don't and if you don't. I think it’s my job as a true Southside General to let you stay lost in the sauce.

It’s Nat Turner choppin it up wit da homies mane.

Yes we are in a new era in hip-hop and for a lot of you it will be quite painful. If you're feeling Ice T'ish then you will definitely not like this. The guy who killed hip-hop is now making it bigger by not doing a shoe deal with the big companies that you would love for him to run up under. Nah he went out and found a company based outta Dallas and it's on.

Sometimes I feel like the entertainment biz goes too far. But then I sit back and look at the news. Everyone is under pressure right now. We are in a recession and the economy is damn near at it's worst. If Obama wasn't running right now, what would we be looking forward to?

This world is kinda screwed up. So considering all of the other out of control issues going on I guess it's only natural to have these beefs and quarrels over petty sh*t. I mean a lot of these people make more money than your average middle class working person and get to do what they love everyday. But that still doesn't stop the urge to go postal on your co-workers.

I had to post this whole Buck thing because I knew everyone would cover it from the same angle. What's odd to me is the fact that you would record your so called friend in a phone conversation at one of his weakest points knowing you would use it later.

Everyone has been there where your life just ain't going right and you spill your guts to whomever you trust. Only to find out he/she had ya on 3way. Damn that's cold. Or is it simply the games we play with each other. This type of sh*t is bound to push Buck into a new creative space. It could have been worst.

It's been a long time coming for Mr.Florida. Last night there was an exclusive listening party for Raw. His album comes out today and is a must have for any southern hip-hop connoisseur. This album is definitely one that will be up and down the highways. Blood Raw is a great example of a team player. Dude waited his turn and when you hear the album you will know why patience seems to be no problem for the Panama City native.

Drugs: The American Way? Part 1

I know some of you will disagree fully. Mostly because you've been programed to. For years now we have watch brothas get caught up in the underworld of pushin that product up and down the highways of the good old USA.

So we finally made it. We are now at the point in hip-hop where the rappers are getting so damn big that they can engage in verbal combat with our so called leaders. Sure we've had rappers before go back and forth with politicians and such but its always the rappers that are so down with the militant movement that the conversation gets washed away. But when the number 1 artist in the country puts it on his album that you a crook it tends to fester as the album gets bigger. If you haven't heard there's video below but this will not just go away like Al Sharpton would like it to.

Behind The Beats Of The Carter III

Carter III is off to a good start. It's one of those albums where you either love it or hate it. Or give it two weeks and it will grow on you. The most noticeable difference on the album compared to the past is the production. I mean if you ask me Wayne really just laid back and made this album for the critics. Just so they would know he can do whatever he wants whenever.

He literally has a different track and sound for everyone. If "A Milli" don't get ya "Mr. Carter" will, if he misses "Dr. Carter" got it. If your tired of rap, Babyface will make you Comfortable. I can go on and on but instead. Here are some quotes from the architects of the Carter III courtesy of Rhapsody.

This mixtape has been popping up everywhere lately. It's attention is long overdue for Jackson, Mississippi's Boo tha Boss Playa. Anybody that followed C Loc's Concentration Camp from Louisiana then you know Boo has been holding it down for the Sipp for a while now. Concentration Camp also included Lil' Boosie and Max Manelli (Koch). Then Boo came with his 1life 1love family street classic, "Say it to my face" (What up Janky).

It seems there's a big trend about to snowball and it's probably the best thing ever for music. Independence. I remember back when Slim Thug first signed to Interscope. We were all geeked up because if you followed the down south underground, Slim was one of the ones that you knew could go major. But as soon as his album came out the reviews were mixed. I mean Pharrell did his thing. But if you were looking for that southern fried Texas hip-hop, it was gone. It's like the majors don't understand how to maintain the integrity of the lane that made you love the artist in the first place.

What happens when a black woman goes through so much sh*t that reality kicks in 24/7. You may see it from a different perspective. If you do great, please let me know. Khia is your cousin, your aunt, your momma, your sister, yo baby momma, your queen.

Flashback Friday: DJs Vs Rappers

DJ%20Chill%20Photo.jpg

Everybody wants to be down now. We’re moving forward in hip-hop, well past other professions that have been through way less. Did you ever consider back then that one day you could get paid to do what you love everyday and not have to bleep out the cuss words.

plies_definition.jpg

First I will start of by laughing at all the comments from yesterday about the Plies song. Thanks for your participation in my survey. I mistitled it "for the ladies" since one of my DJ homies was like "here Plies go with another girl song." I said damn, did you listen to the words. He replied yeah. Then of course like those of you who posted, I knew he was lying because the song had nothing to do with women. It just so happens that the tempo is slow and Trey is on the hook. I'll pick up on this later because a lot of times people think they know the South but at the end of the day ya'll have no clue what the hell we are saying sometimes.

You don't understand the accent. Every state has their own twang. And that’s a good thing, it’s how the slaves would keep the uncle toms out of their business. ;o) By the time you figure out that someone like Richboy, Plies, Boosie, or Trae saying some deep shit. We have accepted them as classic and are on to the next album. Just like Atlantic is doing with Plies now. Big ups Atlantic! (Dionnie what up) So thanks, you so behind in your own culture that our artist life spans will be twice as long as most. Case in point Bun B.

Griffy 2K , 107.9(ATL) morning show host and comedian steps up and request peace in the TIP/Shawty Lo beef. (This word beef is getting harder and harder to type without laughing. Beef is the new Keep it Real). Anyway Griff reached out to Shawty Lo at the T.H.U.G. awards. Now although the clip doesn't show or suggest it, a good source told me that since then Lo and TI have decided to put a silence to the beef, being that they both have bigger issues in life and music. Hopefully this is true.

So after yesterday I feel we need a music break of a different kind. And what better way to do that than to strike up the band. Black colleges are essential to the hip-hop experience down south. They provide the necessary backbone and extra skills needed to excel in this crazy world. I myself think all rappers should at least attend some college just to get the basics of business and communication. After all it does become obvious they need it as time goes on in their rap career. After that second album we start to hear the same topics you had on your first-- oh yeah we notice. But nooooooo you'd rather buy a fancy car instead of get an education.

Life is a contact sport for some. The media is doing their job of taking anything that happens in the states now and blowing it up to maximum volume of shock and awe. It helps take the attention away from the war and other important things affecting our everyday life. Like that population control you call fast food. What the hell am I talking about? I'm not the he said she said type of blogger, and when people start going at each other based off of emotions and sh*t. It reminds me of high school. It goes back to what I was saying a couple of blogs ago about stars going through regular life situations. However I have a job to do so here we go.
