I agree and disagree with Chi... prejudice will never die as long as we are human beings with natural jelousy and hate in our nature to be competitive in life. But on that same stroke, the realest niggas in the world are the ones who can accept that and find reasonable ways to express the distrust we have with other races (im african american) and find ways to fix it chi... The state of the world is pretty bad in some ways but pretty hopeful in others. Black America is in disarray. I blame that on several reasons. One huge problem is that people have silly goals, in my opinion. For instance, Martin's whole notion of "integration" is what all anybody seems to remember him for. However, to try to use the state, particularly a state that consistently oppresses you (as every state does in the world) as a lever for social change is simply a futile strategy.
Secondly people seem to be too focused on getting rich and all that other materialist stupidity. "Integrating" in America and getting paid seem to be a lot of peoples goals. If that is so then we're all going to have huge problems now and in the future.
I also should note most of this isn't just racial problems. There are tremendous racial problems. But, in all honesty, I can't see how any one in their right mind would want to struggle to become a part of such a brutal country, white, black, Asian, whatever.
But there is also a lot of hope. The global justice movement (for lack of a better word) is very promising and I that is where my main hope lies. Not in Obama. He is exactly what Malcolm called tokenism.

Ok, to be real, putting asians and whites aside.. you can't say that all latinos, not just mexican, don't like you. As a latina, I know that in many ways, I have the same struggles as an african american, so why am I gonna hate on them? My son is half black and it makes me sad to know that he's going to struggle with being accepted not only by whites, but by some people from both his own races.
