Ultimate Victory = 79,000?

That's right. Is it really an Ultimate Victory when you only sold 79,000 copies in your debut week? I dont really know what to call it because I'm a Chamillionaire fan and to see he only got the #8 spot on the BillBoard 200 in his debut week with 79,000 copies scanned seems a little disappointing. So I really don't know what else to say. I thought the album quality was there and there seemed to be quite a bit of press and coverage compared to his last release.

Pimp C "True Story (D-Boy Diss)"

Yeah it's time for more Pimp C. He's working with his protege XVII and has dropped a little track onto an upcoming release that's made it's way to the internet. It's called True Story and I don't have to explain it to you, just listen. I think you're going to like what you hear and his protege definitely has some real potential. I got my hands on it already and if you can find it in stores this week or next then you might want to cop that sh!t! Remember you can share or post the track on your site with the embed, just click the little brackets between the volume and site logo and it will copy the embed code to your clipboard so you can paste it.

"Oh No They Didn't! Oh Yes They Did!"

Let's play a little game today and throw up what are some of the worst collabos and features done by southern artists that you've seen in recent times or if you've got that old man memory , then from way back in the day too. I'll start with... Hillary Duff With Love remix featuring Houston's very own Slim Thug. Yeah that's right a Hillary Duff song with Slim Thug, get that money boss!

Now you post yours and maybe I'll post more of mine as the day goes on!

Lil' Flip is Pushin' It

Yeah I'm talking about Lil Flip again and giving the haters a little more ammo to start the week off. I'll give it up to Flip he's doing things proper these days by giving plenty of little drops of music and videos here and there straight to the fans. Whether it's via his YouTube videos or Soundclick free tracks and mixtapes he's getting new stuff pushed out and getting money.

So here's a little ammuntion for your Monday morning hate. It's Lil' Flip with a underground video once again. Keep pushing!

Bob O'Wildy Videos

I know you guys are almost all Chamillionaire fans so I thought I'd throw a group of his Bob O'Wildy videos together for you to check out this weekend. So without much talking let's get on to the videos and laugh a little.

Bob O'Wildy Goes West

It's been a minute since I dished out a free mixtape so here I go with another one. This time it's the Playaz Circle Duffle Bag Boy official mixtape. This is in advance of the album that drops in October and features people like Lil Wayne, 8 Ball & MJG, Rick Ross, Slick Pulla, Raekwon and plenty more. So click the pic to download the mixtape and hit the comments to let everyone know what you think of the mixtape. Catch the track list after the break!

Hurricane Chris 'Hand Clap'

I thought it would be a good time the day after Chamillionaire released to contrast him against some more southern rap. I'll call it real rap vs real crap. This is the new Hurricane Chris single I told you about a few weeks ago, well this is the video for the Hand Clap song. If you thought that Soulja Boy sh!t was annoying, well you were right. But this song, well it's taken it up a notch, you won't get to

Superman that ho
, but you'll get to
row row row your boat.
Now check out the video and let the people know how you feel about it!

Chamillionaire 'Ultimate Victory'

Yeah it's Tuesday and Chamillionaire has dropped Ultimate Victory into your local music store and either you're about to go get it or you already got it this morning. Yeah it's early but I know some of you grabbed it quick, or got it off iTunes last night like I did. So what's your initial reaction or review? Is it a hit or a miss? Favorite tracks?

Now a little Cham bonus content and some other news follows after the break!

Chamillionaire's Letterman Performance

I mentioned last Friday in the blog that Cham was going to be live on Late Night with David Letterman Friday night and he definitely was. I caught it on tv before I went out for the night and I have to say the style of it was hot. It was one of the better live performances that I've seen in a while and I thought you'd all like to check it out. You know we're heading into Chamillionaire overload since his album Ultimate Victory drops into stores tomorrow and onto your iTunes as soon as midnight tonight! Check the video!

Chamillionaire Ahead Of the Game?

The title is the question for today. As we all know the new Chamillionaire album drops in stores tomorrow. Ultimate Victory is the title and this may well be an ultimate victory for Cham with all the press and things he's doing. So what I'm wondering is do you think Chamillionaire is ahead of the game? Is he pushing hip-hop in the right direction or just doing his own thing and does it even matter? Is there a bigger picture to the lack of cursing, the songs that contain substance?

I think the answer to all of this is yes. Cham is definitely staying ahead of or on top of the game. In a day where it's increasingly becoming more and more about style over substance, Chamillionaire is putting out substance with style and doing it well. So I want to hear your opinions on one of Houston's best lyricists and are you buying the album tomorrow?

Plies 'Hypnotized' Video

Yeah I'm surprised too. I'm already back with another Plies video just a few days after sharing one. This time it's a brand new video for the track Hypnotized featuring Akon. Anyway Im not sure I like it, but you can make that decision for yourself if it's hot or not. So here's the new Plies video and stay after the break for a bonus throwback video!

Chamillitary Mayne!

That's right let's get a little discussion going about that highly anticipated Chamillionaire album. Yeah it leaked onto the internet but I'm not one to spread leaks for quality artists who I'll actually buy albums from. So let's at least throw up a new track on here and everyone can say what they think about it. It's called Pimp Mode featuring Bun B and I'm sure a few of you devoted southern fans have already heard it. But for everyone one of you that comments there are 100 that just read and enjoy and use this as one of their main sources of content.

So enjoy the track and hit the comments and show your support for Chamillionaire.

Plies "100 Years" & Jena 6

Yeah it's finally time to share a little more knowledge today and not just some gossip. I've got a video from Plies that reminded me of a lot of things one of which was the Jena 6. Two things I didn't plan on blogging about much, Plies and Jena 6. I admit I didn't really like what I heard of Plies until I caught this new underground video of his and I thought I'd drop it on here because you probably haven't seen it yet.

Let me say something it's a shame what rappers have to do to get ahead in the game. You have to sell singles you dont believe in and make music that you don't even like sometimes. Plies first single gave you no clue as to what else he was about, and it turns out he's got a little bit of game and it's worth listening to. Check out the video for the track 100 Years and then read up a little on how it reminded me of the Jena 6.

Follow in because after the break it gets real serious.

F Kanye & 50, I'm From the South!

That's right people SOHH Dirty is a Kanye West and 50 Cent free zone, so you're safe in here today. Instead I'm going to drop a new track on you that you probably haven't heard and let you know what album you need to go pickup in your local store.

Let's start with that new album. Today is new music Tuesday and after a few years Young Bleed is back in stores. I've already heard 3 or 4 tracks off of the album and liked every single one of them so I'm confident about this album. Bleed is a vet of the south and straight out of the boot. He's got some nice collabos and quality music on this one so get out and cop it!

Now after the break it's time for a new track by a southern Heavyweight literally and figuratively.

MTV VMA's = I'm Getting Old

Well last night was the MTV VMA's and I'm sure a few of you watched it. I caught part of the replay since I was busy watching football when it aired originally. I have to say each time I feel older and more out of touch when I watch it. I didn't feel the south was represented very well but that's probably not much of a surprise. I didn't like any of the music, let's just say it was too much choreography and Diddy for me and not enough real hip-hop making an appearance. Britney looked horrible and lip-synced even worse than she looked. Kid Rock and Tommy Lee got into a fight apparently and Dr. Dre made a surprise appearance. I saw T.I. performing a little and Soulja Boy getting Kanye to supaman that ho if thats what you want to call representing the south. So with all that said, I didn't really want to talk VMA's but it's a big night in the music industry apparently. So I'm going to counter it with an all old-school south video show today, so enjoy the videos, and check out more of them after the break.

Posted Up & More Pimp C

It's been a few weeks now but Pimp C hasn't slowed down for even a minute. He's got a little one minute piece that seems to be off a mixtape. I saw it circulating on the internet for a few days now and thought I'd go ahead and throw it up on here and let you all listen and decide for yourselves who and what he's talking about.

pimp_c.jpg

Word on the streets is if you're looking for some hot performances in Dallas, Ecco Lounge seems to be holding some hot live performances nearly every single weekend and occasional weekdays. You might even catch me there. If you're feeling like a tough guy say whats up!

Keep reading after the break and I'll throw a new and old video at you for bonus content on Friday!

Mike Jones "Turning Heads"

Who is Mike Jones? He doesn't even have to ask that question anymore because in 2007 people already know who Mike Jones is. He dropped his new track from the upcoming American Dream album onto his MySpace page and featured on the front page of MySpace as well. So I thought I'd let people know about it and get some opinions. I know there are plenty of Mike Jones haters out there so let's get it on! The new single is called Turning Heads and if you click here to view his page you can listen to it now.

mikejones.jpg

Let's also throw it at another rapper for a moment here because it's Thursday and that's the day the Billboard charts update. A lot of you gave me heat for getting on Yung Joc, well now it's time to pay up. Yung Joc in the week after his release, backed by big air play on radio, MTV, BET and a big name label like Bad Boy managed to do what? #3 on the Billboard 200 this week, but with only 69,000 in sales. That's right only 69,000 in sales with all of that backing and push. So after the break here, check out a little Yung Joc video and tell me if you can't figure out why this dude is not selling.

Gudda "Imma Break the Game Down"

I know in the past a few of you expressed that you liked Gudda when you saw him on the Lil' Flip underground video I posted. So today I've got a fresh new track from you and I'm sure you havent heard it yet. It's Gudda and the track is called Imma Break the Game Down. I listened to it a few times myself and he's got that flow I'm sure we'll hear more of him real soon. Check out the track and comment back! Feel free to share the track as well, you can click the brackets between the volume and logo and it will copy the embed to your clipboard so you can share it on your own myspace or site.

I've also got a little interview of some quick questions I hit Gudda with last night that you can check out on my site, so click TrillSouth Gudda Interview to read it as well if you're interested.

New Music Tuesday: Coughee Brothaz

It's new music Tuesday and that leaves you with some interesting choices. I'm doing what the rest of you should be doing. I'm hitting up local stores and trying to find that new Coughee Brothaz album. But you won't hear about it on the news or MTV and BET tonight.

sticker.jpg

It's real hip hop though and Im sure those of you that are familiar with Devin the Dude already know that a Coughee Brothaz album is going to be a treat. Quite a little collection of people go into this new album and you can check out a few of the tracks on their page and learn more about the group before buying the album or catching them currently on tour. Click here for Coughee Brothaz Myspace info page.

Click in because after the break you can check out Chamillionaire talking about his top 5 Ultimate Victories .............
