Sorry this is a lie. They sold a double cd which means each "case" sold counted as 2 cd sales. They only sold 80,000 and were outsold by Plies. Next week they'll drop off to 20,000. For everybody saying that isn't true, look up the RIAA's system on double cd's.

Let's say I'm wrong and Digimon is right about it being 2 seperate systems. 160,000 sales the first week means next week they'll drop to about 30,000 cd's and it'll go for another month or two. THEY WILL NOT GO PLATINUM AND PROBABLY WON'T GO GOLD.

UGK sold 160k in week one with very shitty promotion up until the final weeks of album release and international player's wasn't near as big as a hit as plies "shawty" and they damn near doubled him in sales (no disrespect to plies cause i bought that album as well and it was good too).

First heard thought it was ok, the more I listen the more I like Pimp C stepped his flow up, I think Bun dumbed his down a little bit, to me disc 2 goes harder than disc 1. If they had made this one disc it'd be a certified classic, so what you do is take your favorite 7 or 8 songs from each disc throw them on your ipod, or burn onto a single disc, and you got that UGK, bubbling right out the pyrex,....know what talkin bout!!!!!

^-- I'm not down playing anything? The first video came out December 06 and the label never pushed it, so it was a waste of money (didn't do shit for marketing). International Player's Anthem was a big hit and that is why they are going to go gold from this album. But when i'm saying lack of promotion, I mean they don't have all kinds of press coverage, billboards, signs on the sides of city buses or going on nationwide tour like T.I, Kanye and all of these other guys. That UGK special came at the end of the week after the album was released. For it to have been beneficial, that type of shit needs to air before album release to help build hype. These guys had no more than a month of real promotion so 160k is damn good. I agree that they will not go platinum, unless if Jive decides to keep supporting them and help push their next single now that they have proven that they can sell.

Man I love Ugk but this album is no classic. Chrome plated woman, undergound kingz, still ridin dirty and candy shouldn't have even made the cut. ^--- Because plies DID NOT sell more. Plies sold 96k, UGK sold 160k... thats almost double... and its each album scanned, not each disc so its 160k albums or 320k discs, not 80k albums and 160k discs.

160k first week sales these days is hard to do though, so they did very well. Only the big names like T.I, Kanye & 50 can only really do big numbers any more. Getting gold now a days is like going platinum, its sad!

But I think UGK will def go gold at the very least. They have a real strong core fan base of about 500-600k. Next weeks sales I predict will be in the 60k-80k range. I don't think they will get up to the million album mark UNLESS Jive gives them the propper push on their second single.... but im skeptical on that.
