So its the trend right now to show off your tats. Its like every other rapper I see has tats showing off in his pics, magazine covers, videos, tv shows, album covers. But have you ever noticed most of these rappers with their hardcore gang style tats didnt get them until they got rich? Does that still give you street credibility or make you just another fake music industry marketing tool?
Name a rapper for me that has more tats now than he had before and tries to sell himself with some street credibility. I'll start with Lil Wayne (can someone get this man a shirt), now you speak on this one for me ........
If you want it to be about the music and your lyrical skills then don't try to come at people as something you clearly aren't, and never have been.
I guess it's only fitting that Lil Wayne is going to team up with another rapper who got all his g style tats after getting rich, Im talking about The Game. These two are a match made in studio gangsta heaven!
Lil Weezy is also working on gathering up leaked mixtape tracks from around the mixtape scene and talking about putting his own mixtape together he jokingly called 'The Leak'
Speaking of fake tears like the ones on Lil Wayne's face, the ones on my face were real after seeing this video that should never have been allowed to hit the airwaves.

I don't know where you from but in Philly these young bitches got tats all over there bodies. It's easy to get them to. These kids throw tattoo parties. They pay the tattoo artist a couple hundred to come out and then people make there money back by charging niggas to get in at the party. You can get some big art work for cheap too. I got my whole arm tatted up for $150 and I got color too. You should see all the angry parents on the block after they children leave these parties with tattoos.

Part of the reason hip-hop is in the state that it's in is because we (the fans) expect these rappers to be hood, gangsta, or street instead of allowing them the space to be themselves. Let's take a step back and start assessing these rappers on skill rather than street cred.

As far as Game, U don't just wake up and have several tatooes that shit builds up over a time frame...so what he didn't have that shit on change of heart...nobody says u have to be tatted at a certain age or you fake...

Lil' Weezy never rolled with any gangs and he never sold drugs or shot anybody, but he has a talent with using his voice to make incoherent sentances sound good. He also is very good at talking as if he actually knows what he is talking about. People who actually are thugs can relate to his music, and kids listening to the radio can too. I'd call this a good thing (entertainment). Tattoos have nothing to do with it. I do agree, however, that he has been talking about bloods a little too much recently and should really not stress that so much because he obviously has no idea what he's talking about.
