TI vs TIP on The Leak

I know many of you can't wait until next week to check out that new T.I. album, Im not one of you but that doesnt really matter. MTV posted up all the songs for you to check out this week and I figured I'd direct you to it in case you hadn't already been listening.

T.I seems to be everywhere and controversy has been following him, is it hype for the album who knows. I'd have to say some of it is, if not most but he's always been into a bit of controversy with various southern artists from the start. So peep the previews and let me know what you think and if you want to hear more about T.I. in the future.

Juve Ups Some New Tracks

If you hadn't already heard Juve upped some new tracks from his upcoming album that he's still currently working on. It's scheduled currently for November release so these are some of the first tracks out. You can check them out and find out what he's doing with himself and UTP Records on his page. Be on the lookout that UTP crew with Skip and Wacko too.

Im also on the lookout for news on Z-Ro since we all know he's scheduled to be released the second week of July so we'll see what I can find out, but we'll probably have to wait until a day or two after he's out to find much news.

Im also looking to get the drop on some new designs for that Algierz clothing project done with UGK that's coming out next month since I know you all want to wear whats hot in the streets this summer and support the legendary Underground Kings.

So you already know I said I was going to try and hook you guys up with some exclusive video from Monday nights release party for Tum Tum and Mr Lucci. Well I did that and got a couple surprises for you as well. So yeah I was out and doing the damn thing and trying to get a little video of what went down and let you know. We were at Club One in Deep Ellum and let me say the place definitely has some @ssholes working the doors, but that kind of thing happens when you feel you're more important than you are.

So anyway the club was deep with all kinds of people and plenty of ratchets as you'll be able to see in the videos. So on with the show, I've got a sample of videos and we can start it off with a little bit of Mr Lucci and the Stoney Crook Family as they took the stage first at about 2:30 in the a.m.

Why people go to this club I dont even know. I had on a clean white t and was made to buy a $20 f@#king sticker so that I didnt appear to be gang affiliated. Put a sticker on my t-shirt and somehow Im now good. But as you can see Mr Lucci, Mr Pookie and the Stoney Crook guys are definitely on the come up and that Mr Lucci '100% Real' is in the stores as of today so grab it while you can find it. Believe that title too, Lucci is a real dude and was by far the most friendly and down to earth artist I've met yet.

It was right after that performance that Tumzilla jumped up onto the stage and started is performance off with the crowd definitely into it. He had plenty of family with him in the house and on stage and gave a performance that you could feel and heres a little clip of that and some ratchets.

Dont worry thought Zilla hasn't forgotten the fans or the haters so stay tuned to the end of this blog to see what he's got to say to you.

There were also a few others spotted in the crowd that came out for the party like west coast rapper C-Bo and Spice 1. They showed out of D town and came down to party with the city.

Stay tuned ....

Stay tuned people Im going to bring you some coverage of the Tum Tum, Mr Lucci release party real soon. I just got the laptop plugged back in and Im putting the videos on the computer and going to get them up and ready tonight or early tomorrow. So in the meantime get out and cop your copy of Mr Lucci or Tum Tum's new releases and check back here to see how it all went down in Dallas last night.

So it went down last night. People, I was at a small ghetto country event with none other than D town's Mr Lucci, Mr Pookie and the Stoney Crook Family. But there were others as well at this small event hosted by my man BJ from Street Fever DVD Magazine. You know we had to start it in the parking lot and get a little of that freestyle action flowing before kicking the doors in and blowing the roof off. Lookout for a little Chris McCain and watch out for your man Young Gangsta getting in there about 1 minute in, you'll see more of him you can bet on that.

It went down with all the guys getting on stage and working up a sweat in some southern late night heat. Things started off with my boy from the OKC Chris McCain working the mic to warm the crowd up a bit. But they went crazy for your boy Chop Chop with the Presidential Trap House crew. It was a homecoming for the man Chop as he took the stage with that exclusive sh!t and damn near shut the place down.

Im going to try something a little different today, it's Friday and we know that real hip hop is alive in the south, in your state and mine. I could probably find some news bit to write about but there's no real big news or I was out too late and missed. So I want to let you post it up today for the weekend and let the people know.

Post your event and let everyone that reads know where a good place is to go and see some real hip hop this weekend. Remember its for this weekend only, lets get the word out on whats going on locally for you and give the people a good place to go. I'll start, I'll be in Hugo, Oklahoma watching a little show with Mr Pookie, Mr Lucci, Presedential Trap House and several others performing and try to bring a little video back after.

So post your event up for this weekend and check out a few old school videos and enjoy your weekend and do it big. Life doesn't last forever so make it worth living now.

Haha the funny thing is you might hate this now but you were all jammin it when it came out.

So post your sh!t up and give everyone something to do and enjoy this weekend! Real hip hop lives in the south! If you can make this work we might start posting it up regularly so that we can all go out and get some of that real in our local area.

Pookie, Lucci & Oklahoma Hip Hop

Just thought I'd let you know Im going to try to get a little coverage for you on that new Mr Lucci project for you in the near future. The album is dropping on the 26th and they're doing a release party in Dallas with Tum Tum. I'll try to be at it and see if I can get a little film of the event and see whats really good.

In addition we've got a little bit of Oklahoma hip hop going down. Yes hip hop is alive in Oklahoma and Im going to try to get a little bit of that going for you with my boys from the Presedential Trap House this weekend in small town middle of nowhere Oklahoma. Im talking about Hugo, Oklahoma so if you're near drop by and catch a show. Pookie and Lucci will be there with Stoney Crook as well as a few other Oklahoma all stars that are on the come up.

In other news I just can't find much news about ESG even though I know a few of you want to hear. He's got his single playing on his MySpace but that's about all thats out there. Same with Keke and Trae doesnt have much info about his upcoming release either for at least a month since much was said.

I know you all like to see a little video to, so here's some video of the Presidential Trap House boys from Oklahoma, you'll hear more about them soon.

So the word out today is the your boy Yung Texxus originally from Kileen, Texas has signed to the about to be relaunched Desert Storm South. You know the Desert Storm name because of DJ Clue and they launched last year bringing in a few people like Magno, and now its time for a relaunch and it appears as though Yung Texxus has got next.

Maybe you read about him in The Source Unsigned Hype, well now that he's signed we'll find out if he's hype or the real deal. Anyway you can peep a recent mixtape of his done with DJ Scream and what might be his new single 'Buss It Open' on his personal MySpace page. So find out more about the man and let me know what you think and him as well.

You know your man Lil Flip AKA Flip Gates likes to keep the streets hooked up with fresh material and so I drop on you his latest little internet video and short underground track. It's Flip Gates featuring Gudda in 'U Cant See Me."

You know I know alot of you are still hating and wanting to hear about bullsh!t rumors and beef, or dont want to read more than a sentence or two and see some video you've already seen a few hundred times. It's a new day though I like to feature the people that are really out there grinding and getting in the game. So heres a little more of the underground and some underground videos for you to peep.

Get ready to see and hear more about Kenika on here real soon, this was her just this year at SXSW in Austin and she's starting to make her power moves right now. Shes straight out of the H and I just got her fresh mixtape in my hands yesterday and it's already about to go down. Interview and or review as well as more of her coming soon. You can bet this won't be the last you hear from this lady or hear about her.

DigiPimp - Step Your Hate Game Up

DJ Khaled & DJ vs the Rapper

So it was a week ago that Miami DJ, DJ Khaled dropped another major release on us flavored with many big names from the south as well as the whole rap industry. It's just a little more proof of how big and diverse the hip hop movement is becoming. A Palestinian DJ born in New Orleans and now in Miami is working his way up the charts with what is essentially a mixtape put on a major label.

Check out his page to hear some music from his release 'We The Best.' He's got new tracks recently added since the release featuring the current single and tracks with names like Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Baby, Trick Daddy, Fat Joe, The Game and a whole lot more. It's like a who's who in hip hop on the tracks and this brings me to a new question.

Do you like a hot mixtape more than a major release? The mixtape industry is at a crossroads with the arrest and attempted shut down of DJ's and sites across the country. And at the same time it's receiving major attention and shifting to an occasional major release here and there and DJ Khaled's is the latest and biggest on the southern rap scene.

The northeast up in NY, they've had the mixtape game on lock for a while now but it's growing fast in the south. So do you get onto mixtapes for your fix of the freshest and best music that's out there or do you still wait for the industry to give you a half ass release every so often? Speak up with your wallet and support major mixtape releases and the expansion of the mixtape industry for better quality releases.

So Im back again this weekend and I wanted to get out the word on some more indie artists that are trying to do their thing and get in the game. This time I've got a little info on the FruitCity G's and R.O.M.E. and I think you're going to like what you hear.

Lets start with the FruitCity G's, they're coming at you straight out of Orange, Texas. So yeah you're saying where is Orange, Texas and I'll tell you I had no idea myself. But if you know the port city Port Arthur then you're almost in Orange. Across the bride and almost in Louisiana the boys in Orange are keeping it trill just like they do in the port, its damn near the same city. And they do it real nice on their page with a track featuring none of than Pimp C and Hezeleo. It's definitely something for you to check out if you like that UGK or third coast flavor and I know you do. Check out 'Hit and Never Miss" for that port city flow.

Next we've got R.O.M.E. a man who's right on the verge and had a recent mixtape dropped with none other than DJ Smallz. So you might have already copped that one, it's that Hotlanta type of flow. You've got some serious beats and plenty of bass with a club type of feel to alot of what I've heard. He's from Atlanta by way of Birmingham, Alabama and has real lyrics over his beats and has been doing the mixtape scene for a minute now. Check out any of his tracks and you can even download to listen to away from your computer.

And now some random MySpace hate. Can we get artists that handle their own MySpace acccounts and not 17 year old kids that use a 50,000 person friend list for a popular artist to drop bullsh!t spam annoucements and bulletins on everyone to buy everything except a George Foreman grill. If you cant handle your own sh!t then you dont even need to have a page. Everyone has access to the internet these days and you can handle your biz on your sidekick, laptop or whatever from almost any spot. Get these MySpace managers off your friends list and start supporting people that are serious about their biz and willing to deal directly with their fans and business.

Sorry no pics or videos today, just serious business letting people that are on the streets griding get a little bit of time in the spotlight!

Chingo Bling is not dead!

Yeah haters I know you came out for this one, but there was a rumor spreading fast that Chingo Bling was dead, but he's still on tour and the rumors are false. This is the new SOHH Dirty so we do cover Chingo Bling here. Maybe you haven't heard enough of him but his sh!t is pretty creative and fun to listen to if you're just chillin and hanging out with some boppers.

Check out an old school Chingo Bling video and get your hate on, or 'Walk like Cleto!'

I know I cant be the only one around here that likes to see those latinas make it bounce!

So whats up to all the people reading and all the haters that are going to comment. I've got a few things for you, a new video from Tum Tum. It's the Anthem video and it's for the streets and the people on the block. I know the haters came out last time I posted about Tumzilla but don't sleep on this man he's about to do some serious things.

I've also got that Hurricane Chris straight out of Ratchet City, thats Shreveport for those of you that dont know. He's got that A Bay Bay jam thats making its way through the clubs and onto BET getting a little airplay lately. Check out the video thats about the A Bay Bay and how it originated as well as more about the Port.

A little news on Chamillionaire is that we're looking at Mixtape Messiah 3 dropping in just about 4 days for free. You know Cham always likes to put out his own leaks and mixtapes for the fans to hold them over while he's in between album releases. You can bet that when it drops if not before I'll give you the link and let you know whats up.

Im also working on getting some video from that Grit Boys video shoot that happened this past weekend. I've seen a little behind the scenes stuff floating around but not much thats worth checking out so I talked to them directly to see about getting hooked up with a little bit to show you. It's that brand new video for 'Fresh' with Tum Tum and Trae.

So maybe you've already heard but the man you know as Chopper Young City formerly of MTV Making the Band fame is making the move to Cash Money Records. It's been a long time coming he says and things are about to change. I caught up with him yesterday and talked to him on the phone about the new situation, the Bad Boy situation, working with Lil Wayne, his upcoming solo and getting in the studio to work on the new Cash Money MOE album.

I can't get mp3's uploaded on here so that you can hear them so you'll have to go to my site to check out the full length audio until then. So if you want to hear what he had to say himself and believe me he had some things on his mind and more than a few words to say about Bad Boy and Diddy, then click on over to hear the GrippinGrain Chopper Young City Interview! And I know you'll tell me I sound like a nerd, thats not news, I already know it. I'll get better audio next time, this was unexpected and done on the cell at the last minute.

Feel free to download it and listen to it on your computer and stay tuned for more info on Chopper and the Dirty South, as well as some new tracks of his to listen to. And post your comments up because Chopper wants to hear what you have to say. Remember adults 18+ only this is an explicit site and interview.

So its the trend right now to show off your tats. Its like every other rapper I see has tats showing off in his pics, magazine covers, videos, tv shows, album covers. But have you ever noticed most of these rappers with their hardcore gang style tats didnt get them until they got rich? Does that still give you street credibility or make you just another fake music industry marketing tool?

LilWayneThaBlockIsHotCvr.jpg

Name a rapper for me that has more tats now than he had before and tries to sell himself with some street credibility. I'll start with Lil Wayne (can someone get this man a shirt), now you speak on this one for me ........

lilwayne.jpg

If you want it to be about the music and your lyrical skills then don't try to come at people as something you clearly aren't, and never have been.

Where Is Crunchy Black?

Almost exactly a year after leaving the group Three 6 Mafia where is Crunchy Black today? On June 12 his solo album 'From Me To U' hits the stores and he doesnt claim it and he's not out there talking about it. This is the unauthorized album put together with material he did while with the group and put out without his permission.

Fact is Hypnotize Minds doesnt need his permission, but where is the man who's featured on the album to get a little publicity and talk about what he's really doing? His solo he calls 'Money Mask' hasnt hit the shelves and the date on the streets is nearly wide open. Last we heard he was working on it with his new group the Hard Hitters and looking for a deal, but again no news.

DJ Vlad & UGK = Real Mixtape Heat

The whole south is waiting on that UGK. It seems like we've been waiting forever and it keeps getting pushed back. But I've got a little fix for you, its not brand new and maybe you've already heard it but I'm guessing many of you havent. I've got that DJ Vlad & UGK 'Pocket Full of Stones' mixtape for you to ride to for about a month until we all cop that UGK.

Its going to be damn near like a holiday in Texas on July 17 if that sh!t finally drops. I can see the whips lined up at the car washes and everyone on that UGK the whole day. I'm not normally big on blends but DJ Vlad did that sh!t real dirty and you've definitely got to check it out. I've already got it in my slab for the next month.

Lil Wyte Doing Big Things?

You know it's 2007 and I'd like to hope that race doesnt matter in the rap game, but maybe it still does? Lil Wyte is doing his best to rap, he doesnt care that he's white and neither should you, but do you?

lilwyte.jpg

is race still that much of an issue in this country, or have we just been misled to see one small difference among so many similarities. So this is about Lil Wyte and his music, not the white rapper Lil Wyte and his music, but the rapper.

Anyway you might not have heard of him but I know many of you will have as he's signed to Hypnotize Minds. Obviously the label of none other than 3-6 Mafia. Memphis has rap has gotten big play in recent times thanks to these guys and their success and now they're passing it along to people like Lil Wyte who actually has some lyrical skills.

Grandaddy Souf Drops June 26th

So have you heard of the man they call Grandaddy Souf? If not I think thats all about to change because he's newly signed to SRC Records under Universal and about to drop his first major release. Maybe you've already heard the song 'Keep'em Coming Back' on the radio, if you're in Orlando or Florida then Im sure you have. But what about the rest of you in the south.

Well with his major about to drop how about you give a listen to his new sh!t and let us know what you think. He's got the new tracks on his page, and I've got a video of some of his previous stuff for you to have a look at. Grandaddy Souf isn't that booty bouncing Florida music that you might have heard. This is real talk from the streets, about real life and doing real things, so I know you'll be able to feel that.

UGK is news

Dont get it twisted around here when UGK does something it is news. However someone else posted the video a day ahead of me, rather than double up with something you've already seen I try to stay fresh with new sh!t and I did that. But you want to see UGK and Outkast and the new video that you've already seen several times, well ima do that and then Ima do you better than that. So here's the video and keep reading for more .......

and there it was, but how about this sh!t haters

Tum Tum is reading ........

So I spoke with Tum Tum on the phone Monday since he's got an album that's about to hit the streets on the 26th of this month. He says he checks out SOHH everyday and he's getting ready to shoot a video with Grit Boyz and Trae in Houston but then he's back to Dallas soon for his album release and more.

Haters and Fans Download the new Tum Tum - DJ Smallz Mixtape

I can't say what Im going to get setup for sure but Im trying to arrange meeting up with him and some of the DSR crew either at the release party, event or the next video shoot and asking him some questions and just letting him speak on what hes got planned for the near future.

Yes UGK did drop the 'International Players Anthem' video with Outkast in just the past few days and I did know about it. It's news sure but bigger news will be more about when UGK's album drops and what they've got coming up with shows and tracks that didnt get leaked.

I've also got a little new piece on a new artist that Jermaine Dupri is putting out called Hot Dollar, maybe you've already heard but here's a track to download and listen to, and you can read a little more about the man on his personal myspace and see what he's all about.

As you saw once already on here when I shared some of Lyriks music and his band myspace 4ThaLuvRecordz, I pay attention to the emails that I get (sohhdirty@gmail.com) and check out everything and want to share it with the rest of you. No one ever got anything without a boost or some help in this world, whether its friends, family or someone who is looking out for others.

Well this week it's SoundChild Crew that I want you to check out. Some cats out of Arkansas that are grinding and starting to get a little attention from the nation. I got an email and checked out some of the tracks on their myspace and have to say it's not bad, but its not really about what I think. I put it on here for you to say what you think, give them some real feedback, and of course I know you haters will speak up and let them know.

Check out all the tracks and they even let you download and listen to them over and over or burn a cd and play it in your moms car haters. These are just samples of whats out there and if we find some cats that we like I'll give them a little more attention and a deeper look at and maybe interview.

I dont know when it happened exactly but at some point Master P changed. I remember Ice Cream Man and screaming Bout It Bout It but then one day it was all gone and P was happy with people calling him Percy.

So with P about to release a new album and a new committment to be profanity free, the question is did Master P go soft, or did he just grow up and should we all do the same?

Maybe you haven't heard but P or Percy is soon to drop an album with his son Romeo on the same day as none other than 50 cent and in recent interviews he claims the drop date has nothing to do with the mini battle or beef betweem him and 50 over profanity and his use or non use of it.

Cham pushed back again and more

I know many of you have been wondering when that Chamillionaire 'Ultimate Victory' would finally hit the streets. Well it seems like the finally agreed upon time is going to be pushed back once again, this time to September 18th. If you know Cham though you can expect to hear a little freestyle or track dropped here and there up until then.

cham.jpg

UGK it looks like will finally hit the streets with a double that is going to have a surprise or two even though you think you've heard most of whats on there. Don't expect these guys to sleep on whats really up in Texas and the industry and put out only music that's already been leaked. There are reasons their double is pushed back a few times now.

In Houston cause I know you care about Houston, June is the month of the Hip Hop 4 HIV concert which is going to feature UGK, David Banner and Lil Wayne. So you can support the music and a good cause at the same time, there will be other artists as well. You can get in free but you have to attend an awareness seminar and get tested.

Yeah now we can really talk about the south. Plenty of love for Texas but we've got some David Banner today and a link to download his new single '9mm' with Lil Wayne, Akon and Snoop. Banner is still reppin for the crooked letter of Mississippi and has a lot going on these days including THAT CROOK'D SIPP.

banner.jpg

Maybe you haven't heard of it yet, but THAT CROOK'D SIPP is Banner's own cartoon on the Cartoon Network Adult Swim. Banner addresses criticism by saying,

"People always try to put the responsibility of their children on everyone else," Banner said. "Children shouldn't be up that late anyway, but honestly, they probably need to watch my show and learn something. I live for controversy now because that's what America wants. As much as they point fingers at everybody else, America is the most violent, lustful country in the world."
