Lil Flip's Reality Rap

So the word on the streets is that Lil Flip is signing himself up for his own reality show called "The American Rapper." Flip is supposed to be scanning several southern cities as well as cities across the rest of the country to find talent and the winner will get a 2 record deal, a chain and some cash. Sounds corny to me but I have to admit I watched the White Rapper Show, Flavor Flav and if I knew about the Paul Wall show I might even watch it.

So if you could pick a rapper that needs a reality show who would it be and why, or what would the name of the show be? Me I'd like to see Trick Daddy with a show or maybe even Pimp C for something real serious. I don't think we're far off from all reality tv all the time and rappers are always looking for attention and cash.

So if you want to keep on top of what Flip is doing and I wouldnt be surprised to see some video pop up about it on YouTube. Flip has his own channel CloverGtv and you can peep all the footage and coverage there.

Im sure you've heard it by now it's Mike Jones with a little west coast third coast mixed up flavor on his new track "My 64." So heres the official video, the real deal right here Mikes Jones, Snoop Dogg, Bun B, Lil Eazy E and Money $tack$!

We got a little bonus, not just a video today but the Mike Jones My 64 the video game. You know you want to get on and play this ish right now, so whether you're on your mom's computer, at work, at school, chillin at the crib, get clicking and playing the video game and get ready to cop that new Mike Jones real soon.

Peep the Mike Jones American Dream YouTube channel while youre at it for even more video and with behind the scenes clips and plenty more. And while you're at it...

All this talking tough and big on the internet isn't whats up. It's 2007 and if you're spending your time worrying about what someone else is doing then you're not doing you. So the only man to step up and hit me with a proper email yesterday was a Texas Boy.

So Lyrik stepped up and let me know that he wanted to be heard and like I said Im not going to only tell you what I see in the south but Im going to let you speak to me. Whats better than the power of me saying whats out there is the power of all of you and what you see and hear.

So with that said you can check out his band myspace at 4ThaLuvRecords and peep the tracks and let him and us know how you feel about what another Texas boy out of Screwston is doing. If you like it then there's more to come, and if you don't then you can be heard too.

But Im going to tell you its not living to be sitting on your moms computer and hating on another man or woman trying to come up, this is the new SOHH Dirty not the old and we're going to make it happen round here. So comment back and let the man know what you think of his music

Memorial Day

Im going to keep it real simple today, its not about the hip hop or the industry, it's Memorial Day and we need to keep a thought on those who serve and have served our country in many different ways.

Although we might struggle and some of us have been in the streets, we might not have had the happiest homes or the best childhood. We've still got that American Dream thanks in part to those that served our countries. In the past they did it because it was what was right across this country, to fight and defend the freedom we have here or at least the opportunities that we have.

It's less out of doing it for the right reasons today and more out of economics and job opportunities and lets face it being able to pay for college. But that doesnt make it any less important when kids go overseas to fight wars that they or we approve of or not. They do it because thats what they do, and thats who they are and the wounded come back and want to do it again.

Many of us have family in the services and veterans in our families so take a moment to think of that person today. Think of the great generation of WWII that are disappearing right now. The Viet Nam vets that were underappreciated, the Korean War vets, Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the numerous small missions in between and throughout.

Look up at that sky today and taste that BBQ and realize it might not always be beautiful but theres always opportunity and on Tuesday you can grind harder and get what you want and its in part thanks to those that fought and gave for us all to have that opportunity.

Yeah I probably went on and on and maybe didnt make sense in part but this is serious and this is real talk. We'll get back to hip hop and the south tomorrow.

Get Yourself A GRiT Boys Shirt, HAWK Album Pushed Back

Alright as most of you already figured out for some reason the HAWK album Endangered Species release date has been pushed back to May 15th. I have no idea what that is about, especially since I received word personally from the representatives responsible for promoting his album saying that it was to be released May 1st, because that was the 1 year anniversary of his death. If anybody has any word on why it was pushed back....lemme know. Even so, be sure to go pick that up on the 15th.
