Lil' Flip Sets the Bar High on New Song; Bun B Attacks MySpace Spammers

It's funny how things can quickly change for the better. Just a few days ago, we were discussing the possibility of Flipperachi's new album, I Need Mine, becoming a commercial flop. Then he turns around and drops this monster of a song to silence his critics. Check it.

I can't stand Lyfe and his monotonous crooning, but cot damn he's been on a roll lately. This song really brings out the best in Flipperachi, and if you can't respect that, then your whole perspective is wack. It's got that whole "Hard Knock Life" feel to it. Of course, the strength of an entire album does not hang on one song alone, so let's hope the rest of I Need Mine jams like this.
Bun B vs. MySpace Freaks
The other day I was perusing Isiah Carey's Insite when I came across this Bun B article:
Bun: I see some fools like to ignore the blogs and the bulletins that say no spamming, but thats aight. I'm now only manually approving comments on the page to stop these people from fillin up the entire page with advertisements. I've already said countless times for people not to do this, but no one seems to care so for now on there is gonna be no more advertising. Unlike many of his peers, Bun seems like the "let me check the internet and see who's talking bad 'bout me"-type. First, he attacks one XXL Blogger for calling out the south, now he's taking war to MySpace spammers. You gotta love him for taking a stand, though. (No Clay Aiken). I like Rhymefest and all, but I still think SOHH should have kept Bun B's blog alive as well.

I told you man you got to respect that man hustle. He opens some doors for the new cats down in H-town. I am sure that mike jones, slim thug, paul wall and other work real hard on thier hustle but lil flip was havings his music played out of texas before some of those cats.

True maybe the doors was already open. But as true nation wide success Flip was the first. As I can tell you from SA (big up I use to live there by Jay High School). Lil Flip was the first. Tru you can get those artist down there easily but Lil Flip had the first taste of commerical appeal before paul, slim, cham.

Let's ne honest the hottest thing about this song is LYFE. Although this submission is better than the trash we are accustomed to from FILP, lets not get ahead of ourselves. He is still spittin that fantasy Thug sh*t. FLip you weren't slanging banging or hangin in high school. He does appear to have stopped freestyling, but he is far from bring HEAT. Flip you need 8 more cuts of this caliber and higher and a few certified banges, and we can talk to the doctors about taking you off life support and out of ICU!!.

I aint tryin to say that Flip opened the doors for Houston, but he was sellin and moving big units before anyone was. (Ex. The Leperchaun-over 100,000 units sold independently in the year 2000). The only other rapper movin big units independently at that time was SPM, he was the 1st one to introduce DJ Screw on an album. Slim Thug didnt start makin big money until he left Swishahouse which was back in 02'. Mike Jones, Paul Wall, And Koopa really got noticed more, startin like in 03' and 04'. I mean Mike, Paul, and Koop were out but werent gettin that much attention until o3 and 04. And I also think Flip messed up himself by not droppin I Need Mine earlier. He could've easily went Gold and maybe just maybe even went Platinum, cuz a lot of people were expectin the album to drop in the Summer of 05' but it never came out.
