Fresh off his brand new publishing deal with Universal, your favorite rapper's favorite Houston rapper Chamillionaire has now joined the world of "virtual reality." Jordan Bigel is spearheading the first virtual appearance by Chamillionaire.
The idea is called "Second Life" and will showcase virtual and real performances by various Universal artists, including Chamillionaire.
"Universal apparently felt so good about the project that they let Bigel start setting up a similar space for Chamillionaire. Currently there's a massive interactive Cham jukebox, with more items to come. On Sunday [June 25], Cham will take a virtual stroll through the place and chat with fans, so long as they've nabbed a ticket by visiting the area in advance. To avoid overflow, Universal is giving out tickets and putting some bouncers in. But it's just for show â€" there's nothing those guys can really do."
Eh, I like Cham and all, but I'll pass on this one.

On an un-related note, DJ Screw will be immortalized through DJ Screw: The Untold Story, a compilation CD/DVD, due come July 22.
Unless you've been living in a cave for the past week, you've probably heard about the upcoming Screwfest by now. Now, I don't understand how this honors Screw, but organizers also plan on displaying DJ Screw's "fully restored" Chevrolet Impala at the festival. While I still have an insurmountable level of respect for one of the greatest DJs of all time, I won't be at Screwfest this year. There's something about my feet and events that tend to cash in/disrespect the late greats (a la Big Hawk's Tribute Concert) that don't quite go together.
