I personally think that the should have done sumthin other than call the police. B/C when the police came in she was sittin down not actin wild they should have waited to see how long she was gonna be cool. And I kno there was someone other than the mother to call. When the Mother was called and told her Child was acting up and she needed to come to the School, She should have went right then!
Schools are tired of Lawsuits being filed against them from these children's parents who think their Children never do any wrong.
Now if you are up in age like myself I'm 41 you know the schools handled our asses and sent us back to class, now days that can't happen. Parents are going off left and right and suing Schools for anything. So what is left for them to do to protect themselves?
I don't blame them for calling the Police after the Lazy Ass Mother would not come, And Trust that Lawsuit is Not going anywhere, It will get Dismissed because of her actions.
This is happening all the time you just don't see it on film.
I think we need to go back to the old days and let the school handle the problems and the parents should accept it, maybe there wouldn't be so many problems in schools like there are today.

i will admit....that girl is bad as hell but under no circumstances should a little girl be arrested for being bad in a KINDERGARTEN class. cuffs were absolutely unneccessary.

Placing the handcuffs on the girl was a bit much. I think they should arrest the mother for not coming to the school and handling her child. Heck while they're at it look for the father and arrest his ass too. The mother shouldn't be the only one held accountable. I hope this is a wake up call for those parents who think it's the school's problem to raise their kids.

What is going on in our schools? and our homes? What a perfect reflection of society today. This is terrible what happened to this little girl. But more than that..That it had to happen in the first place? What is going on in her home? She shows no respect for authority, and treated the officers with total disrespect. She didnt seem to be overwhelmed with their presence like any normal kid. I wonder just home much of them she sees in her own home. A mother who can't show up? and what about the Father? Suing isn't the best answer..they talk about reform and compensation..but what is really going to happen with the funds that are going to be generated from this? Do you think it will go towards a college education for this girl? perhaps putting her into a private school..where rules are enforced. This child needs that stability. She obviously isn't getting it in her home. Instead of sending her to psychiatrists, social workers, and the like..I say spend some of this compensation money on her education, moving her out of the environment. Fix it now, For Christ's sake she is FIVE years old.

I don't know a real whole lot about this, other than what I've heard in the news, but you know it's possible that we're putting a bit too much blame on the parents. NOTE: I AM NOT "DEFENDING" THEM, I'M SIMPLY SUGGESTING AN ALTERNATE POSSIBILITY. What if she's bi-polar? Just in case you don't know what that is, basically, someone who has bi-polar disorder will usually have severe mood swings, and become completely out of control, of course it varies depending on how bad of a case it is. They can go from being happy to wanting to break everything in sight in a split-second, my little sisters are bi-polar, trust me, I know what it's like.

I have a 3 year old who was acting up in day care (he's not even in school yet!) bad enough that I had to leave work early to pick him up. You best believe I beat that a$$ as soon as we got home. In NYC, if your kid is disruptive in class, he's sent to the mental ward of the closest city hospital; teachers don't have to deal with that bullsh!t anymore. If this 5 year old in FL was wildin' to the point that the authorities felt handcuffs were necessary, God bless 'em, nip that sh!t in the bud. Some of these kids are *BAD*, yo, not mischievous or naughty like we might have been when we were little. Plus, don't forget the crack baby phenomenon. If her Mama and her family can't straighten her out, maybe she needed them cuffs slapped on. I think it sad that the little girl got arrested. I do believe that it is the parents fault for not properly displining her or finding the right help for her but at the same time ya dont know the details about why she got hemmed up. If she was actin up and wildin out then she need to cuffed so she wouldnt hurt anyone, if shes bi polar or sufferes from somekind of dis order then she needs to be cuffed for her safety. And worse come to worse she needs to be cuffed for the officers protection. As bad as we seen kids act this last few years you dont know what kind actions the will take against the officers. I can tell you this though, any one that goes into my police car goes in handcuffed with their hands behind their backs for my safety unless a real good reason exists to cuff them in the front.
