You know one of the best things about my job is my ability to truly have an influence on hip-hop culture, events and artists. While some of you are still unreceptive to the notion that bloggers, particularly SOHH Gyant, has some juice on the internet, that doesnt change the fact that its happening. I can big up or eff up your whole day with a few simple keystrokes. However, I often times use the SOHH platform to put you on to new music and artists who I feel are worthy. Every once in a while I get the opportunity to witness truly amazing talents. The chance doesn't come around too often, but when it does I recognize it and embrace it. While nobody can deny that hip-hop is dying a slow death, these classically trained violinists, known as simply, Black Violin are thriving. In a time where everybody is doing the same damn thing these guys are showing everyone that there is still room left  for innovation in the genre of hip-hop.

Yesterday I told you all about Nelly performing to a sold out crow at Atlanta's legendary concert hall the Tabernacle. Well I bailed out early and apparently missed a historic moment when Goodie Mob rejoined to give a stellar performance. This past weekend T.I., Greg Street and the Grand Hustle's K.I.N.G. foundation transformed the popular 'hood' club, Crucial into 'Crucial Carnival'. All the kids in Bankhead were treated to free haircuts, book bags filled with school supplies, all the food and snow cones they could devour and of course some quality time with the popular rapper.
